In her previous life, Shen Liwu listened to her stepsister's words and developed all sorts of disgust towards Zhou Yanjing, hi...

Chapter 102 You Don’t Love Me Anymore (2/2)

Zhou Yanjing's breathing stagnated and his eyes became even deeper. He slowly lowered his head and gently pressed his lips against her forehead, then the tip of her nose, and finally stopped at her lips.

His kiss was gentle and long, as if he was conveying all his emotions and commitment in this way. Shen Liwu closed her eyes, her fingers unconsciously grasping his collar, allowing his breath to envelop her.

After a long time, he slowly pulled away, his forehead still against hers, and his voice was a little breathless, "Wuwu, I really don't want to lose you."

Shen Liwu smiled lightly, with a hint of cunning in her eyes, "Then you have to behave yourself and don't let me misunderstand you again."

Zhou Yanjing and Zheng Yu nodded, their eyes serious and firm, "I will. No matter who it is, there will be no chance for any rift to arise between us."

Zhou Yanjing stood up and ruffled her hair, his eyes full of doting.

"You take a rest for a while. I'll go cut corn stalks and be back soon."

Shen Liwu nodded and watched him turn around and walk out of the room, the sound of his footsteps gradually fading away. She leaned against the head of the bed, gently stroking her belly with her fingers, her eyes a little dazed.

The sunlight from outside the window shines in through the curtains, mottled light and shadows dance on the floor, and a quiet atmosphere permeates the air.

Not long after, there was a rustling sound outside the yard, as if someone was moving. Shen Liwu frowned, put down the book, stood up and walked to the window, lifted a corner of the curtain and looked out.

I saw a woman standing at the gate of the yard, holding a basket in her hand, looking a little uneasy.

Shen Liwu’s brows furrowed even tighter, and she felt slightly unhappy. She was about to turn around and leave the window, but she saw the woman looking into the house a few times, as if looking for something. Finally, her gaze fell in the direction of Shen Liwu, and the two looked at each other through the window.

The woman looked a little embarrassed, but she still forced a smile, "Is it Li Wu? I brought something over to apologize."

Shen Liwu took a deep breath, suppressed the unhappiness in his heart, walked to the door and opened it.

Zhou's mother had already come to greet her. When she saw her come out, she quickly stepped forward and handed over the basket in her hand. "These are the vegetables I grew myself. I brought them to you for you to try."

Mother Zhou looked down at the vegetables in the basket. They were fresh and green, obviously having just been picked. She didn't reach out to take it, but just said calmly: "Thank you, but we don't lack vegetables at home."

The woman's expression froze for a moment, her hands hanging in the air, looking a little at a loss.

"Just accept it. I also know that Changfeng came to your house last night. She was wrong. I'm here to apologize on her behalf, Li Wu. Don't be angry. Changfeng asked me to say that what she said last night was false. She is sorry for you."

Shen Liwu stood at the door, her eyes fell on the basket in the woman's hand, the fresh vegetables exuded the smell of soil, mixed with the dampness of morning dew.

"I'm not angry." Her voice was faint and her eyes were distant, as if she was deliberately keeping a distance.

"Li Wu, I know Chang Feng was wrong last night. She...she had no choice. She was pushed into a corner and that's why she did that. I'm here to apologize on her behalf. Can you please stop holding it against her?"

Shen Liwu did not answer immediately, his eyes passed over the woman's shoulder and fell on the ridge of the field in the distance. There were a few sparrows jumping and pecking at food, occasionally chirping.

She could still hear those sharp words from last night, like a thorn stuck in her heart that she couldn't pull out.

"Auntie, I'm not being picky." She finally spoke, her voice still calm, but with an unquestionable firmness, "I just hope that some people can understand their place and stop crossing the line."
