Shen Qiaoyue and Jiang Jinyao sat down at the restaurant, ordered some food, and then paid the bill.

This was Shen Qiaoyue's first time eating here, and she didn't even know when this state-run restaurant had opened.

"Have you heard? I heard that universities are going to be reinstated soon, meaning that those who get into these universities will receive a monthly stipend."

Upon hearing about the restoration of universities, Shen Qiaoyue immediately became interested.

I also know that it is now 1970 and the Workers, Peasants and Soldiers University has been restored, but only a designated number of students can attend.

Listening to them, I heard how hard they worked to get into university. Some of them didn't want to go back to their hometowns and did everything they could to get into university.

After finishing their meal, the three of them took the bus home together.

The first thing Jiang Jinyao did was rush home to pack her luggage.

Shen Qiaoyue had already packed her luggage, and Lu Chen was almost done with his preparations, so Shen Qiaoyue started making dinner.

Perhaps due to the influence of living here, Lu Chen doesn't like to eat noodles and prefers rice. When Chen Qiaoyue came back just now, she bought some rice on the way.

Shen Qiaoyue was in charge of cooking at the restaurant. Just as the meal was ready, Lu Chen returned home from his shift at the military base.

"We're back. Wash your hands and eat. After dinner, let's take a shower first." After all, the train journey takes a whole day and night, and it's very uncomfortable not to shower at night.

I plan to take a shower before going back.

"Yes, I bought some peach blossom pastries and a few eggs from the cafeteria. We also cooked some food at home to take with us, since we won't get home until tomorrow night." Lu Chen was actually spending the New Year in Beijing for the first time and didn't know what it was like there.

"Okay, I'll wash my hands after I finish eating." Lu Chen washed his hands and took the food from Shen Qiaoyue's hands.

The two sat down together and ate their meal. Chen Qiaoyue asked, "This time when we go back for the New Year, Dad will probably bring Grandma over, and Uncle wants to bring your grandma over too. What do you think?"

Jiang Jinyao has already said that her grandmother is not an easy person to deal with.

While eating, Lu Chen said to Shen Qiaoyue, "Don't worry, even if she comes over for dinner, we won't let her hurt you or the child. The child must live with us. Father said that Grandma lives with my eldest uncle, and we've hired a caregiver to take care of Grandpa."

Shen Qiaoyue nodded and continued eating.

After finishing their meal, Lu Chen washed the dishes and carried the water to the washroom so that Shen Qiaoyue could take a bath first. After Shen Qiaoyue finished bathing, Lu Chen continued to bathe as well.

"Qiaoyue, are you all done?" Xu Tiande asked as he passed by on his way home from get off work.

"Uncle Xu, we're all ready. We can go out now." Shen Qiaoyue had already changed into thick clothes.

He came out of the room to respond to Xu Tiande.

"Qiaoyue, let's not take the bus tonight. I'll go back and have dinner first, and we'll go together later," Xu Tiande said to Shen Qiaoyue.

“Okay, I’ll talk to everyone about it later.” Shen Qiaoyue nodded in response.

Xu Tiande and Yu Qingce returned to Beijing for the Spring Festival and stayed at the house opposite Jiang Mingjing's house.

After Xu Tiande went back and finished eating, Shen Qiaoyue checked the time. It was only seven o'clock. Since the train was at ten o'clock, they could still make it if they left at eight-thirty.

Liu Xinlan's side was filled with bags and packages containing things for her and her child.

Xu Qianli looked at the busy Liu Xinlan and hugged her from behind with reluctance, saying, "Wife, I can't bear to part with you!"

"I can't bear to leave her, I have to go find my daughter." Liu Xinlan's heart is only for her daughter.

Xu Qianli was depressed and unhappy.

"You only have eyes for our daughter, not for me anymore!" Xu Qianli said unhappily. "Before our daughter was born, you loved me the most and always wanted to stay by my side."

Liu Xinlan, being held by Xu Qianli, turned around and looked up at him, saying, "I'm with you every day. I've been separated from my daughter for two months. I miss her. Don't you want me to bring her back soon?"

"I want to, but you'll have to be apart from me for half a month," Xu Qianli said unhappily.

He then lowered his head and kissed Liu Xinlan's lips.

Xu Qianli's hands were restless.

"Stop fooling around, I need to take a shower. Hurry up and boil the eggs for me." Liu Xinlan didn't want to exercise with him at this time, and there wasn't enough time.

Xu Qianli had not had marital relations with Liu Xinlan for several months after she became pregnant. It was only after Liu Xinlan had completed her postpartum confinement that they resumed marital relations.

"Okay!" Xu Qianli went to boil the eggs, first carrying the hot water to the water room.

As Liu Xinlan was about to enter the water room, Xu Qianli grabbed her waist and kissed her lips several times.

"Xu Qianli..." Liu Xinlan helplessly tapped Xu Qianli's arm. Xu Qianli ran away after kissing her.

Liu Xinlan was left standing there, savoring the taste of the kiss, before blushing and going into the bathroom to take a bath.

Jiang Jinyao happily packed her luggage, while An Lude busied himself cooking as soon as he got home from get off work.

"Come out and eat first, I'll clean up for you." An Lude saw that Jiang Jinyao was going back to Beijing for the New Year. Although he was reluctant, there was nothing he could do. His wife wanted to go back, so there was nothing he could do.

"Remember to call me when you arrive." An Lude was happy for Jiang Jinyao, seeing her happy expression.
