Xu Feiming nodded slightly and carried Da Nian downstairs.

Just as Lu He's pent-up emotions were about to burst forth.

"Auntie, Auntie, buy some milk candy, my little sister loves it." Da Nian saw some pretty milk candy and wanted to bring it home for his little sister.

Lu He was distracted and looked back at Da Nian, pointing to the milk candy on the counter.

"I think I forgot to bring my candy coupons!" Lu He reached into her pocket and realized she hadn't brought any.

"It's okay, I brought it." Xu Feiming brought a lot of tickets of all kinds, as well as money.

Say to Da Nian, "Da Nian, what kind of candy do you want to buy? Tell your uncle."

"Milk candy, little sister, Daddy loves to eat it." Da Nian remembered that her mother had said that Daddy loved to eat milk candy, and her little sister loved to eat it too.

Lu He chuckled and teased Danian, "Danian, you only think about your sister and dad, what about mom?"

"Mom doesn't like sweets!" Da Nian thought for a moment, then realized he didn't know what his mother liked to eat. "Mom likes to eat everything," he said, "but there's no one she particularly likes."

"Your mother likes to eat walnut shortbread, and all sorts of pretty pastries," Lu He whispered in Da Nian's ear.

Chu Lin, watching from upstairs, saw the three of them looking at each other with such a warm and loving feeling.

Chu Lin never dared to hope that he could have such happiness.

When He Shaoyun was about to share the ticket with Chu Lin, she saw him staring down at the ground.

He Shaoyun chose to remain silent.

Following the line of sight, Lu He was smiling happily, playing with the child.

Xu Feiming sold candy on the side and would occasionally interact with them.

This scene is truly enviable; if you didn't know better, you'd think they were a family.

After buying the candy, I went and bought some other snacks.

Xu Feiming bought two bottles of soda, and Da Nian wanted to open them and drink them right away.

Xu Feiming also planned to give Da Nian a drink.

"The movie is about to start, and drinking too much soda will make you need to go to the bathroom. Let's give Da Nian some after the movie ends." Lu He stopped Xu Feiming, saying that Da Nian shouldn't drink it now to avoid having to go to the bathroom during the movie.

Da Nian looked at Xu Feiming dejectedly, then turned and leaned on Xu Feiming's shoulder.

Xu Feiming had no choice; his aunt had already spoken, so he couldn't say anything more.

Xu Feiming took the child to the restroom and went upstairs to the second floor to prepare for ticket inspection and to go in to watch the movie.

The movie theater was stuffy, but as soon as I walked in, I felt a strange sense of anticipation.

Da Nian felt very happy as soon as he entered; he was very curious about the environment.

"Da Nian, don't talk. Let's watch the movie quietly. After the movie, we'll go eat some delicious roast duck, okay?" Xu Feiming said to Da Nian after finding a seat and sitting down.

Full of curiosity, Da Nian nodded, stared at Xu Feiming, and excitedly covered his mouth.

Xu Feiming thought Da Nian was adorable.

After I sat down, Da Nian opened a bag of cookies, unpacking it so as not to disturb others.

Da Nian sat on Xu Feiming's lap and ate cookies.

As the movie began, Da Nian was completely engrossed and remained remarkably quiet.

Finally, Da Nian got tired and fell asleep on Xu Feiming's body.

Xu Feiming took off his clothes and covered Da Nian with them so he could sleep.

Sitting in the back, Chu Lin looked at Lu He in front of him, knowing that Lu He had never liked him.

The whole of Beijing is so big, yet we met in this movie theater.

Chu Lin was not originally going to come, but He Shaoyun asked Chu Lin to bring her to the movies. Due to the leader's request, Chu Lin had no choice but to come.

In other people's eyes, Chu Lin is a very lucky man to have such a good woman fall for him, but he feels that this is not luck, but trouble.

He felt unworthy of others, and that being with Chu Lin would only be a burden to them and would lead to gossip about him climbing the social ladder.

After the movie ended, Lu He and Xu Feiming left first.

After leaving the movie theater, Lu He saw that Danian was still sleeping.

"Shall we go eat? There's a restaurant up ahead," Xu Feiming asked Lu He.

"Let's go eat somewhere further away." If we stay at this restaurant, we'll most likely still run into the two of them.

Xu Feiming chose to take Lu He's suggestion and walked for more than twenty minutes to another state-run restaurant for a meal.

After ordering the food, Xu Feiming noticed that Lu He was in a bad mood and asked, "Is Comrade Chu Lin the person you like?"

He's a battalion commander, after all; how could he not see it?

Or rather, he could tell that Chu Lin genuinely liked Lu He.

When Xu Feiming asked her this question, Lu He was taken aback.

"I can keep it a secret. I won't let Uncle Jiang, your older brother, or your sister-in-law know. If you like her, you should still confess boldly. Maybe you still have a chance," Xu Feiming encouraged Lu He.
