“Everyone gets tired from working! I told you to stay home and rest, but you didn’t want to.” Lu Chen also felt sorry for Shen Qiaoyue. He had gone through so much to marry her, and now he was making her suffer this grievance. “Work one more day tomorrow, and then you can have a good rest.”

"Mmm." Shen Qiaoyue nodded, leaning against Lu Chen's chest. It felt so soft and comfortable, and her eyes were drowsy, as if she wanted to sleep.

Lu Chen helped Chen Qiaoyue dry her hair. It was cold and she had a lot of hair, but luckily he had prepared a brazier in advance and put it in the living room. The fire made her hair dry faster.

Lu Chen, who was drying his hair, felt that it was almost time, and looked down to see that Shen Qiaoyue had already fallen asleep.

"You!" Lu Chen chuckled helplessly, "Next time, if you're going to wash your hair, do it earlier. It's almost nine o'clock!"

Shen Qiaoyue was in a daze and couldn't hear anything.

Lu Chen stroked Shen Qiaoyue's hair, which wasn't dry enough, and simply held her in his arms to sleep. He moved the brazier a little closer, put a coat on Shen Qiaoyue, and let her sleep in his arms.

After waiting for nearly an hour, I touched Chen Qiaoyue's hair and found it was dry. Then I carried her into the bedroom, put her on the bed, and covered her with a blanket.

Lu Chen's arms had been holding Shen Qiaoyue for a long time, and the moment he let go, a sore and aching sensation came over him, and he rubbed his arms.

Go boil water for yourself to take a bath.

The next day, Shen Qiaoyue slept soundly without any dreams.

Lu Chen got up early, before seven o'clock, to make breakfast. He woke up twenty minutes after Shen Qiaoyue did.

When he got up, he saw that Shen Qiaoyue was not in the bedroom. He put on his coat and went out, and saw that Shen Qiaoyue was already busy in the kitchen.

"Why didn't you sleep a little longer? You usually get up at 7:30!" Lu Chen originally planned to go to the cafeteria for breakfast, which would only take ten minutes round trip.

Come on, I didn't expect my wife to get up so early today.

"I'll wake up when I've had enough sleep!"

For some reason, Shen Qiaoyue woke up naturally today; she couldn't fall back asleep, so she got up.

"I boiled two eggs and cooked some white porridge. It'll be ready soon." Shen Qiaoyue took out some dried radish that her sister-in-law from the family compound had given her and soaked it in hot water to remove the excess saltiness. "Don't just stand there like an idiot. Go wash up and have breakfast."

Lu Chen stared at Shen Qiaoyue with a silly grin.

Realizing what he had done, he replied, "Okay, I'll listen to my wife."

While Lu Chen was washing up, Shen Qiaoyue's porridge was almost ready.

I found two large bowls to scoop out the porridge. The porridge was too hot when it was fresh out of the pot, so I put it in large bowls to let it cool down quickly.

Carrying two bowls of porridge to the dining table in the living room, Lu Chen happened to come out of the bathroom. Shen Qiaoyue instructed him to do some work: "Go and get two eggs and half a bowl of dried radish from the kitchen."

Lu Chen did not respond, but his legs obediently moved towards the kitchen, and he did all the chores that Shen Qiaoyue asked him to do.

Bring in the eggs and dried radish, and the young couple sits down to have breakfast together.

Lu Chen looked at Shen Qiaoyue and asked with concern, "Wife, do you really not need me to accompany you today?"

"No need. I'm going on a business trip with my colleagues. If you come along, people will say I'm using work time to do my own thing. I can take the bus to the city by myself. If I have enough time after I'm done, I'll go back to the factory." Shen Qiaoyue didn't want Lu Chen to come along. She saw that Lu Chen had rested for a few days and should be returning to his unit soon.

Lu Chen was unhappy because his wife wouldn't let him go with her.

He peeled the egg for Shen Qiaoyue, handed it to her, and showed an unhappy expression.

"Thank you, Brother Shen." Shen Qiaoyue took the eggs and thanked him happily.

Lu Chen was depressed and didn't say anything! His wife hadn't taken him along.

Shen Qiaoyue took a small bite of the egg and praised, "The egg that Brother Shen peeled tastes like happiness."

Lu Chen was instantly amused by Shen Qiaoyue's words.

"Feeling happy, I ate the rest of the eggs," Lu Chen said.

Shen Qiaoyue shook her head and said, "No, this is my love for Brother Shen. If you give it back to me, it means you haven't accepted my love."

Lu Chen blushed instantly, unable to refute Shen Qiaoyue's words.

"I'll eat it!"

Looking at Lu Chen's expression, Shen Qiaoyue realized that he was actually quite shy.

After a few sweet words, Lu Chen blushed, like an easily satisfied child.

Lu Chen peeled the egg and finished it in two bites.

Only then did Shen Qiaoyue continue eating her breakfast with satisfaction.

Shen Qiayue feels she's been eating a lot lately, more than before.

I think I ate more because I was in a good mood. I use my brain a lot at work, so I need to eat more to make up for it.

After breakfast, Lu Chen washed the dishes in the kitchen, while Shen Qiaoyue changed her clothes, took her bag, and the funds approved by the factory.

"Brother Shen, I'm leaving." Shen Qiaoyue said goodbye to Lu Chen as she went out.

I'll take you to the bus stop.

"No need, I'll go myself. You go about your own business."

"What do you want to eat tonight?"

Lu Chen offered to take Shen Qiaoyue home, but she refused and asked what she wanted to eat that evening.

Shen Qiaoyue said two words, "Whatever," and walked outside.

By the time Lu Chen came out of the kitchen, Shen Qiaoyue had already walked away.

Hearing the word "casually" made Lu Chen unhappy.

She silently turned around and went back to the kitchen to continue working.

When Shen Qiaoyue arrived at the bus stop, she caught the bus to the city. After getting on, she realized that there were a lot of people.
