"Shen Qiaoyue, besides some flour and rice, you have nothing left at home?" Liu Xinlan asked, walking out with a puzzled look.

"There are some eggs left, so let's fry a few. There's also some dried radish. We're having lunch at your wedding banquet anyway, so we didn't buy any groceries this morning." Shen Qiaoyue stood up and walked out of the living room.

Upon entering the kitchen, I found it was indeed completely empty.

“Lu Chen said he’ll buy it soon. You’re the bride, I can’t let you cook.” Shen Qiaoyue hadn’t really thought about letting Liu Xinlan cook, since there was nothing in the house.

Liu Xinlan expressed her helplessness, complaining, "By the time they get back, you and the child will probably starve to death."

"Don't worry, I trust Lu Chen." Chen Qiaoyue touched her belly and said with a smile, "I believe he won't let me go hungry."

"You're here. Take care of yourself. I don't have any more eggs. I'll bring you more tomorrow." After giving her a few instructions, Liu Xinlan walked to the kitchen door and saw Lu Chen returning from outside. Looking down, she saw him carrying a small piece of pork rib and half a chicken.

Liu Xinlan was finally relieved, and even knew to nourish her daughter-in-law's body.

"Don't you want to stay for dinner before you go back?" Lu Chen offered a token attempt to persuade him to stay.

"Is this enough for you to eat?" Liu Xinlan said without any mercy.
