Friday, August 21st. The weather was so-so (too hot, I didn't like it).
Ning Yien's Weekly Journal
First week of school: annoying but it felt okay.
Is there any aversion to school? No.
It is impossible
There's still... too much time until the college entrance exam, I don't want to calculate it.

It's so annoying how some people always do stupid things.
It's so annoying.
"Senior."
When Ning Yi'en closed his diary, he heard someone call out. He could tell it was Lu Yunian's voice (and thought it was very nice and pleasant to hear), and he guessed that it was someone calling him. However, he didn't look up. It felt really strange to call someone "senior" when you're in the same class, even though they might think it would be strange not to call them "senior" since they are older than them.
"Senior~" Lu Yunian persisted.
"Alright, Ning Yi'en." Seeing that Ning Yi'en still ignored him, Lu Yunian chose to compromise.
"But don't you really think calling him 'senior' sounds more intimate and cute?" When Ning Yi'en turned her head, she saw Lu Yunian looking at her expectantly.
"It just feels really weird, junior Lu Yunian." He said "junior" in a particularly serious tone, and then the two of them laughed.
"So, what's the matter, junior?"
"Let's walk home together after school, Senior Ning."
"If it's awkward, I'll just keep trying to find something to talk about, or I can just keep quiet." In fact, Lu Yunian, who seemed to be writing chemistry during the self-study period, was actually thinking about how to say something that wouldn't be rejected and what topics they could talk about if they walked together, which resulted in him not finishing many multiple-choice questions during the entire self-study period.
"You won't reject me, right?" Seeing Ning Yi'en hesitate, he quickly spoke again, his big eyes blinking brightly. For some reason, Ning Yi'en could see a hint of grievance in them.
"If it's on my way, then yes."
"Yes, what if it's not on the way?" Lu Yunian suddenly realized that he had overlooked this problem, but why didn't he think of it just now?
"Let's just walk and see what happens, and I think we'll definitely be going the same way." After his mind raced for three seconds, he smiled and said to Ning Yi'en.
"Even if it's not on the way, it's still a short walk from the school gate, so we can still spend a pleasant time together."
Lu Yunian had packed his things more than ten minutes before get out of class ended. He sat upright in his seat with his backpack on, lost in thought for a long time. Perhaps he was a little tired. Now he rested his chin on the table, wrapped his arms around the lower half of his face, and only his eyes were visible. He tilted his head and looked at Ning Yi'en.
Ning Yi'en suddenly felt that if Lu Yunian were a puppy, its tail would be wagging like a helicopter propeller right now. As for what breed of puppy it was, well, he would have to keep observing.
"I haven't finished writing yet, I'll have to wait a bit."
"Really! Then..." Lu Yunian's eyes were practically overflowing with joy, a stark contrast to Ning Yi'en beside him, who remained calm no matter what. He tried to suppress his smile, but he couldn't hold it in.
"It's okay, I'm not in a hurry, take your time." After giggling a little for a while, but it really looked too silly, she simply buried her face in the table.
It was too dark, not good. After a few seconds, he raised his head a little, letting one eye peek out, and quietly looked at his deskmate—he was very handsome, the kind of handsome that belongs to the top handsome guys. Maybe he could also be called handsome, but who would praise a boy for being handsome? At least that's what Lu Yunian thought.
—Wait a minute, I seem to have already marveled at Ning Yi'en's good looks countless times. But his face is indeed worthy of countless praises. If I weren't a pure science student whose Chinese language skills are so poor that I can't even muster a single drop of ink in my brain, I would definitely wave my hand and "sing a song to express my feelings."
As he watched the person next to him close their book, pack their bag, and get up to leave with a graceful, fluid motion, Lu Yunian was still lost in thought, pondering how to write a good poem, as if the person who had just said they wanted to leave together wasn't him at all.
"They're gone."
The face that had been some distance away suddenly came close, as if a small action had been caught. Lu Yunian subconsciously closed his eyes and lowered his face again, pretending to be asleep.
"Is her sleep function that powerful?" Ning Yi'en muttered softly. They were so close that Lu Yunian could feel her breath completely, which made him feel a little numb and his ears burn. However, before Lu Yunian could react or savor the moment, Ning Yi'en stood up and patted his shoulder.
"I'm home."
"Okay." Lu Yunian stood up, his brain perhaps blackened from the sudden sudden rise in blood flow. He paused for a moment and then mechanically walked forward.
"Are you riding a bicycle or walking today?" Ning Yi'en asked him, and he finally snapped out of his daze.
"I've been exercising lately by walking." Who would want to exercise by walking to school? Actually, Lu Yunian has been walking to school every Wednesday to try and walk home with someone after school.
Although the journey wasn't long, walking was much slower than cycling, which caused Lu Yunian to wake up much earlier (although he still arrived at school on time every day and rushed to the classroom). Fortunately, hard work pays off, and today he was finally able to walk home with his senior.
"I thought you didn't remember me."
"No, you're easy to remember."
—And I can probably count the number of times I've helped strangers on two hands.
"It's okay. If I talk too much and you don't want to reply, that's fine too. Just consider it nonsense." Lu Yunian suddenly had a lot of worries. He was afraid of awkward silences, but he was also afraid that he was talking too much and bothering Ning Yi'en. What if there was no next time? He was really afraid that his plan to make friends would fall apart.
"It's okay, it's not a bother." In fact, Ning Yi'en preferred being alone for the first 18 years of her life. She went to and from school alone, took walks and ate alone. This not only reduced a lot of meaningless waiting time, but also saved her the energy to socialize.
But quite suddenly, he felt that a change would be good. If another boring senior year of high school was already a given, it would be nice to try something new that he had never experienced before.
Lu Yunian walked a step ahead of Ning Yi'en, talking incessantly as he went, while Ning Yi'en listened quietly and offered responses from time to time.
In fact, Ning Yi'en could tell from Lu Yunian's body language that he was nervous, but he didn't point it out. He didn't consider himself a very good talker. Although he wasn't exactly being overly cautious, he was afraid that the conversation would end because of him.
Or rather, he felt the current atmosphere was perfect, and he wanted to immerse himself in it without any factors disrupting it, even if it was only a short distance.
"How come we're at the crossroads so soon? Which way are you going, senior?" Lu Yunian turned around and looked at him.
Go straight.
"What a coincidence, me too."
—Looks like we can stay a little longer, that's great.
“I remember there’s a bubble tea shop up ahead,” Lu Yunian said, turning around to face Ning Yi’en as they walked backwards. “How about I treat you to one?”
"Hey bro! Stop looking at your phone and look at me." Actually, Ning Yi'en had just pulled her phone out from the bottom of her bag and turned it on. Although she was looking down at it, she hadn't even had time to enter the password yet.
“I,” Lu Yunian suddenly realized that their relationship didn’t seem to be that good yet, and when Ning Yi’en looked up, he quickly said, “Did I cross the line? Sorry, I was a little too hasty.”
"No need to be so careful, I don't look like I'd eat people, right, junior?" Ning Yi'en suddenly leaned her face in, almost causing Lu Yunian to stumble backward.
"Watch out, I've grabbed you!" Ning Yi'en reacted quickly.
But saying he pulled him back isn't quite accurate; he had one hand around Lu Yunian's waist, preventing him from leaning backward and falling, in a posture that resembled dancing a waltz.
"Did I scare you? Let me treat you today."
"No, no, no," Lu Yunian finally steadied himself. "It should be me who comes. Consider it a gift, okay? Don't refuse me."
Let's go.
"I want to talk to you about Xiaoling," Yan heard from another new transfer student in her class who approached her after school today, saying she wanted to ask her some questions. Since they were going the same way, the two of them sat down in the bubble tea shop.
“Some of the guys in my class are really disgusting, but don’t take it too seriously. Some of them are just really awful and repulsive.” She frowned as she spoke, as if the stench could materialize out of thin air in her mind.
"But if someone really provokes you, you should definitely fight back firmly. If you're afraid of getting into trouble, just ask me for help. I'm not afraid of trouble."
"If you have any problems in the future, you can come to me," Yan Ting said, giving off a very generous vibe as she took a big gulp of milk tea.
"However, I'm not very good at studying. My grades are just average. I don't want to drag you down later."
"No, no, how could that be?" Tang Xuanling was still flustered, fidgeting with her cup. Even though the girl in front of her was very kind, she still had many worries.
"By the way, my deskmate is Lu Yunian..."
"Hey, Lu Yunian!" Yan Ting suddenly stood up and shouted, startling Tang Xuanling next to him and Lu Yunian outside the door. This made Ning Yi'en, who had no reaction, seem extremely calm.
Yan Tingchao waved to Ning Yien, then pointed to Lu Yunian and said to Xiao Ling, "Although he was the last one in the last group, he is indeed capable. You can ask him about your studies. He is also very easy-going and kind. He should be good at math, physics, chemistry, and biology."
“I’m terrible at chemistry,” Lu Yunian walked in and stood behind Yan Ting. “If anyone dares to ask me for chemistry advice, I’ll be completely misleading them. I hate chemistry.”
"But if you really want to ask, you can, but you need to give me some time to learn it clearly first and then figure out how to explain it clearly."
"Lu Yunian, what would you like to drink?" Ning Yi'en ordered from the side.
"Oh, mango pomelo sago."
"Okay, then two cups of mango pomelo sago."
"No, no, I promised I'd come." After what seemed like the umpteenth time Lu Yunian realized what was happening, he walked over and pressed down on Ning Yi'en's outstretched payment code.
"If the gift isn't good enough, consider it as repaying the favor of the sandwich."
Ning Yi'en looked at him. For some reason, Lu Yunian's eyes always had a kind of magic that made him unable to refuse, and they were also a bit like a pitiful, spoiled puppy, making people feel sorry for him.
"Just let him come, our boss is rich," Yan Ting said from the side, unsure whether she was supporting him or joking.
"Really? I'll do it." Lu Yunian tugged at the hem of Ning Yi'en's school uniform jacket and shook it, his tone becoming more and more like a coquettish plea.
"Okay, I'll do it next time." He stopped arguing and put his phone back in his pocket. Perhaps because he had never encountered anyone acting cute with him before, Ning Yi'en was completely defenseless against this.
"Senior, when do you have time? I'll treat you to dinner again." As the sun set, Lu Yunian walked along the edge of the green belt as if balancing on a beam.
"No need." Ning Yi'en held up her milk tea to indicate to Lu Yunian, "That's enough."
"Not enough, not enough."
"I accept your offer to repay a favor."
“Before the sandwich, there was car repair. They say you should repay a drop of kindness with a spring of gratitude, let alone the fact that you saved my life.”
"There's no need for such a big favor, no need to exaggerate like that."
"Yes! It exists, you wouldn't understand."
"Lu Yunian," Ning Yi'en waved her hand in front of his face, "Stop daydreaming, or you'll have to go back to my house. Press the elevator button."
"Oh, didn't you press the button for me? Wait, how did you know which floor my building's elevator is on?"
"I don't know, this is my floor."
"Oh my god! We're neighbors right across from each other! What a coincidence!"
"No, no, wait a minute, how come I've never seen you before, senior?"
"I didn't live here before, I only moved here for school. But this week, it seems like everyone is 'dutifully' arriving at school on time."
"That's true. I'll try to go to school with you next week." Lu Yunian was actually quite helpless about his daily routine of being on time, but he really couldn't get up. However, he seemed to have some motivation to get up early now.
—If you knew that I became neighbors with my crush, you would also praise me for being lucky.
