Chu Wuyang stared silently at Jing Min, her lips pressed tightly together, without saying a word.
Jing Min raised his chin slightly, a hint of seriousness in his eyes, and asked again:
"Admit what?"
Chu Wuyang erupted like a volcano that had been suppressed for a long time; she leaned forward abruptly.
Pointing her finger forcefully at Jing Min, she loudly accused him:
"I admit you were moved, I admit you were touched!"
Her voice trembled slightly, and her eyes were a little red.
That portrayal perfectly captured the breakdown of a wife who suspected her husband of cheating.
Jing Min simply lay calmly on the bed, unable to move an inch due to his injured legs.
His face showed no anger, and his eyes were open and honest, without a trace of guilt.
As Chu Wuyang's emotions gradually calmed down, a slight smile appeared on his lips.
Instead of responding directly, they avoided the main issue when seeking verification:
"So you're admitting you felt wronged and were jealous?"
As he spoke, he tilted his head slightly, his gaze fixed intently on Chu Wuyang.
Chu Wuyang's eyes were already moist, and her eyes were red.
Normally, in this situation, Jingmin would immediately raise his hands in surrender, his face full of doting affection as he hurriedly went to coax the person.
This time, however, he remained surprisingly calm, his hands clasped in front of him, patiently waiting for her answer.
Chu Wuyang was torn with inner conflict; she didn't want to admit it.
On the one hand, all of this was exactly what she secretly hoped would happen;
On the other hand, she was really unsure whether Jingmin's actions were a test of her or a sign that his love for her had truly shifted.
She thought to herself that even if feelings had changed, it couldn't have happened so quickly.
So, she stubbornly raised her head, looking like she refused to admit defeat, and wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes.
He never nodded, nor did he acknowledge the question Jingmin raised.
Seeing her like this, Jingmin didn't press the matter further.
He spoke softer, with a hint of concession in his voice:
"Alright, alright, I won't see you off. Just don't complain if it's inconvenient here later!"
After saying that, he sighed softly, a complex emotion that was hard to detect flashing in his eyes.
In the still of the night, the snow fell silently, and the sudden ringing of a cell phone broke the tranquility of the night:
"Roads are closed, please be careful when traveling..."
The mechanical voice echoed in the empty room, carrying a chilling undertone.
Chu Wuyang was fast asleep when a cool breeze, like a ghost, slipped in through the slightly ajar window.
Her body instinctively flinched slightly, then she slowly opened her eyes.
The room was deathly silent. She instinctively turned and peered towards the other end of the bed.
But all she found was a cold pillow; Jingmin was nowhere to be seen.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she hurriedly checked the time: four in the morning.
Where would he go at this time?
She hurriedly got up and frantically checked the bathroom in the room. When she pushed the door open, it hit the wall with a "bang," and the room was empty.
She hurried through the other rooms, her eyes searching anxiously for Jingmin, but she couldn't find him anywhere.
Fine beads of sweat gradually appeared on her forehead, and her breathing became rapid.
She rushed back to her bedroom, grabbed the phone, and frantically dialed Jingmin's number.
The ringing of the telephone through the receiver sounded particularly jarring in the quiet of the early morning.
She gripped the phone tightly, her eyes fixed on it without blinking.
However, the bell rang again and again until it finally fell silent, and no one answered.
Unwilling to give up, she dialed twice more, each time the wait making her heart clench with increasing anxiety.
But there was still no response from the other end of the phone.
Chu Wuyang's brows furrowed into a deep frown, his eyes filled with anxiety and unease.
You have to understand, Jingmin is never the type to leave things unanswered; he never ignores my calls.
They certainly won't just disappear without a word.
Suddenly, as if she had thought of something, she rushed towards Zhou Chen's door without hesitation.
She raised her hand and knocked on the door forcefully; the "thump, thump, thump" of her knocking echoed in the quiet corridor.
Each movement was filled with her anxiety.
At first, there was no response from inside the room, and she paced anxiously back and forth at the door.
He then dialed Zhou Chen's number again.
On the other end of the phone, Zhou Chen was sound asleep when the ringing suddenly woke him up.
He groggily fumbled for his phone and answered it, still very sleepy:
"Hello, who is it?"
Chu Wuyang shouted loudly from outside the door:
"It's me, Zhou Chen. Do you know where Jing Min went?"
Hearing Chu Wuyang's anxious voice, Zhou Chen slowly opened his sleepy eyes.
Finally waking up, I recognized the caller; their voice still carried annoyance at being disturbed and drowsy.
"Jingmin? How would I know where he is? It's not even dawn yet, where could he be? He's probably sleeping in the house."
Upon hearing this, Chu Wuyang's hope was instantly shattered.
She spoke into the phone as she walked toward Yunyang's door.
Originally, she didn't want to disturb Yun Yang, who was ill, but now that Jing Min had disappeared without a trace, she had to confirm whether Yun Yang was also there.
She stood in front of Yunyang's door, took a deep breath, raised her hand, and gently knocked on the door.
Seeing no response, she increased the pressure, the "bang bang bang" echoing down the hallway.
But there was still no movement from inside the door.
Chu Wuyang said anxiously into the phone:
"Jingmin isn't in the room; I don't know where he went."
"Yun Yang isn't in the room either. They've both disappeared. Don't go to sleep."
