Jing Min calmly straightened his slightly disheveled clothes, a faint, teasing smile playing on his lips.
A clear, deep voice echoed in the silent room:
"Anyone who didn't know better would think you'd done something wrong! What's wrong, having a nightmare?"
As he spoke, he slightly raised his hand, as if to touch Chu Wuyang's forehead to check if she was feeling unwell.
Upon seeing this, Chu Wuyang instinctively tilted her head to the side like a rattle drum, dodging his hand.
Jingmin's hand remained awkwardly suspended in mid-air.
He narrowed his eyes slightly, his dark gaze fixed intently on Chu Wuyang, as if trying to see right through her.
However, in just a moment,
Jingmin's eyes softened again, and his voice became even gentler.
Tell me, where does it hurt?
Chu Wuyang continued to avoid his gaze, gently shaking her head.
Seeing this, Jingmin stopped asking questions.
He reached out and lifted the corner of the blanket beside Chu Wuyang, intending to go to bed and rest.
Chu Wuyang, however, acted like a protective little animal, snatching the blanket away with a look of wariness and resistance in her eyes.
"You, you're going to sleep here?"
Jing Min was taken aback for a moment, then chuckled softly.
The laughter was exceptionally clear in the quiet room:
"Yeah, why are you sleeping here?"
"There was no one in the master bedroom. I asked the maid and found out that he had come here."
"Since you're here, of course I'll sleep here too."
He paused slightly at this point, then continued tentatively:
"Or did I do something wrong and make you angry? Are you going to sleep in a separate room from me again?"
There was even a hint of frank grievance in his tone.
Chu Wuyang looked at Jing Min, her expression of rejection becoming increasingly obvious.
She simply couldn't bring herself to share a bed with Jingmin like a normal married couple, but it seemed she couldn't refuse either.
She made up a random excuse and said with a somewhat unfocused look:
"No, the master bedroom has a new bed, I'm just not used to it yet."
Upon hearing this, Jing Min lowered his eyes, his long eyelashes casting a shadow beneath his eyelids.
He didn't say anything more, but silently lifted the covers, lay down, and uttered a cool remark:
"Really? You went into the master bedroom and tried out the new bed?"
Chu Wuyang's body tensed up involuntarily and became extremely stiff due to Jing Min's sudden approach.
She forced out a single word:
"Um!"
Jing Min turned to face Chu Wuyang, his eyes filled with a hint of resentment:
"I still prefer how you were last night. Is it because you had been drinking?"
"Truly, it's exceptionally different!"
When he said this, he didn't look at Chu Wuyang, but instead tilted his head slightly.
He seemed to be savoring something, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Upon hearing this, Chu Wuyang suddenly felt nauseous.
Unable to bear it any longer, she suddenly threw off the covers and got out of bed.
Jing Min anxiously grabbed her wrist, his eyes filled with innocence and confusion:
"Where are you going? Did I say something wrong?"
Chu Wuyang lowered her head, her eyes fixed on the hand Jing Min was holding, and said in a somewhat cold voice:
"No, you go to sleep first, I'm going to the bathroom."
As she spoke, she forcefully broke free from Jingmin's hand, turned around, and quickly walked towards the restroom.
The bathroom door slammed shut, the sound echoing in the quiet room.
Jing Min stared intently at the closed door, his eyes filled with danger and darkness.
