Chu Wuyang got the medicine from her master and hurriedly headed towards Jingmin's room.
Hanshan Temple is very popular with worshippers.
Pilgrims and dignitaries often stay here for short periods, so there are plenty of rooms available.
The temple was serene and quiet, and the snowy night added to its tranquility.
The young monk led her to the front of the house.
Just as she was about to knock on the door, she vaguely heard the sound of water coming from the bathroom, indicating that Jingmin was taking a shower.
She paused slightly.
Thinking it best to wait until he came out, she turned to leave.
However, as soon as the door was opened a crack, a low, hoarse voice came from behind—
Why are you running?
Chu Wuyang paused in his steps.
Turning around, I saw Jingmin standing at the bathroom door, his hair still dripping wet, casually wrapped in a bath towel.
Half of his face was hidden in shadow.
His gaze was inscrutable.
She instinctively looked away and handed him the medicine.
"I asked the young doctor to get you some medicine. You're injured, so apply it and put your clothes on so you don't catch a cold."
Jing Min didn't take it; instead, he stared at her, a cryptic smile playing on his lips.
"You came all this way so late to bring me medicine?"
His voice was deep, carrying a hint of barely suppressed emotion.
Chu Wuyang noticed something was off about his tone and frowned slightly.
"You're injured, I just—"
"Just worried?"
Jingmin interrupted her, his gaze fixed on her, and suddenly chuckled softly.
"Or are you feeling guilty?"
Chu Wuyang was taken aback:
"What are you feeling guilty about?"
Jing Min didn't speak, but his gaze grew increasingly deep as he stared at her, his fingers slowly tightening as if he was trying his best to suppress something.
He wanted to restrain himself.
But when she thought of how she had just stood beside Yang Jinchu, coldly rebuking her,
The bitterness in my heart surged even more fiercely.
His gaze fell on her, his voice slightly cool:
"What were you and Yang Jinchu talking about in the room before I came in?"
Chu Wuyang frowned, sensing something was off about his tone, and casually said...
"We didn't talk about much,"
Jing Min's eyes darkened, and a hint of sourness crept into the smile on his lips:
"What, you're so engrossed in your conversation, why can't I know?"
"Jingmin!"
Chu Wuyang was a little impatient.
"What exactly are you trying to say?"
Jing Min chuckled softly, but there was no smile in his eyes. He walked towards her step by step, lowering his voice:
"I'd really like to know, when you were cursing me just now, did you feel even the slightest bit guilty? Or did you not think it was excessive at all?"
His tone was bitter and sarcastic, yet he wore a nonchalant smile.
It was as if these words were just mentioned casually.
But his fingertips were slightly curled, clearly indicating that he was feeling uncomfortable.
But he suppressed his emotions, unwilling to appear too pathetic in front of her.
Chu Wuyang sensed something was off in his tone, and her brows furrowed even more.
Why are you jealous?
Jing Min chuckled, his gaze deep and unfathomable, as if he no longer bothered to hide anything.
"Yeah, why would I be jealous? You wouldn't care anyway."
A moment of silence,
The wind and snow outside the window were rustling.
The atmosphere between the two was inexplicably tense.
Jing Min's gaze lingered on Chu Wuyang's face for a moment.
He then lowered his head, his tone devoid of emotion:
"Since the medicine has been delivered, please help me apply it."
Chu Wuyang frowned:
"You yourself—"
"My hands are inconvenient."
He raised his arm, and sure enough, the wound on his arm had turned white from being wet, and there were some cracks, which looked rather shocking.
His tone was casual.
"You're not going to let me keep dragging this on, are you?"
Chu Wuyang sighed helplessly, walked to the table, took out the ointment, and asked him to sit down.
Then she knelt down in front of him and carefully applied the medicine to him.
Jing Min looked down at her, his gaze unfathomable, the candlelight in the room reflecting on her features.
It was so gentle that it made his heart ache.
"I'm already like this, and you were still cursing at me."
He suddenly spoke, his tone not harsh, but with a hint of grievance.
Chu Wuyang paused in her movements and looked up at him:
"..."
Jingmin murmured in a low, seemingly unintentional yet somewhat awkward voice,
"I was soaked to the bone, my wounds had reopened, and with the wind so strong, I walked back from there, blood dripping all the way..."
Hearing this, Chu Wuyang felt a little depressed.
I lightened the pressure with my fingertips.
If Li Yanqian, Yan Zhou, and Ming Xiu were around and heard President Jing say this, they would probably be shocked...
He noticed her movement, a slight smile playing on his lips, and continued speaking calmly.
"I was already injured, and then I stood there for so long in the heavy snow, and then I got yelled at. It was really miserable!"
Chu Wuyang: "..."
Seeing that she didn't speak, Jing Min added, seemingly unintentionally:
"At least you still remembered to come see me..."
Chu Wuyang finally couldn't help but frown:
"Jingmin".
He chuckled softly, asking as if it were casual:
"By the way, where is Yang Jinchu's girlfriend? Didn't you say she was here too? I haven't seen her."
Chu Wuyang paused for a moment, then said calmly:
"She had something to do and went back first."
Jing Min gave a soft "oh," the smile on his lips ambiguous.
He looked down at her as she focused on applying the medicine, a restrained dependence hidden in his eyes, though his heart was filled with a thousand regrets.
But he still spoke as if nothing had happened:
"It's getting late, you should stay and rest."
Chu Wuyang looked up at him, her tone calm:
“Temples are places of tranquility, not good.”
Jing Min stared at her, his eyes filled with helplessness:
