Unexpectedly, Jingmin suddenly opened his eyes and met a pair of moist but sorrowful almond-shaped eyes. A deep meaning gradually filled the dark depths of those eyes.
"Worry?"
Chu Wuyang frowned deeply, disgustedly pulling her hand away from Jing Min's grasp.
"I'm afraid you'll die in my bed, and that would put me in jail."
"Don't worry," he said, "I'm the only one who can imprison you. Before I die, I'll definitely hold you back."
Chu Wuyang felt a chill run down her spine.
Jingmin never hid his desire to imprison her.
He used to still have feelings for her; he would hesitate when she resisted, and he would care about her feelings.
Now, he's too lazy to even hide it anymore, acting solely on his own likes and dislikes, like a completely out-of-control paranoid.
Her pupils constricted sharply; no one willingly becomes a captive controlled by others.
Jingmin turned up the bedside lamp a bit, looked down at her dazed expression, pulled her back into his arms, and tucked the blanket around her.
The bleeding from his neck had stopped.
But the faint smell of blood lingered, seeping into Chu Wuyang's nostrils and stinging her eyes.
Jingmin leaned close to her ear and gently patted her back, as if he were coaxing a child to sleep.
"If you behave well, the things you're afraid of won't happen."
She huddled under the covers, her lips pressed against the edge of his wound, gritting her teeth and making low, muffled sounds.
"Aren't you afraid that one day I might actually bite you to death?"
Jing Min chuckled softly, as if amused by her ridiculous threat.
Chu Wuyang couldn't see his expression, only hear his ambiguous voice.
"What are you afraid of?"
"Before, I had feelings for you, and I ignored all your tricks. Even if I knew, I was willing to endure it."
"Now that I don't love you anymore, you're still using the same tactics,"
"It's so clumsy, I can't ignore it even if I wanted to."
"If I'm in a good mood, I might play with you for a while, but how could I possibly fall for it again?"
"I'm not a cat with nine lives."
"You just asked me if I still have feelings for you?"
He touched Chu Wuyang's cheek and chuckled softly.
"If a definite yes would make you willingly let me sleep with you, then you can continue to comfort yourself with that thought."
He said a lot.
But in Chu Wuyang's mind, only one sentence echoed:
I don't love you anymore!
He said it himself.
I knew it all along.
But when those words actually left his lips, the sensation that shook his chest was far more painful than the humiliation he had suffered in bed…
They were still embracing tightly, their posture intimate and suggestive, like a couple who had just been intimate.
But she never, for a single moment,
Like now, I can truly feel how far apart their hearts are.
It's as far away as if we were separated by thousands of mountains and rivers.
Even when she faced life and death together, she had never felt such pain.
Because she clearly understood that at this moment, she was nothing more than a plaything being "pampered" in his arms.
The most deadly form of humiliation is the one that is done silently.
Just because she had pleased him in bed,
Just because she was a little more obedient tonight, and lowered her head a little more,
He felt a little better and was willing to hold her in his arms.
Say a few sweet words like you would to comfort a child, and generously forgive her for her "willfulness" just now?
So any woman, as long as she goes along with him, cooperates with him, and is obedient and compliant, could be just as she is tonight.
She suddenly realized that Jing Min was a master of psychological revenge.
He didn't need to brandish a knife, get angry, or even start swearing.
All he needed to do was embrace her tenderly and whisper, "I don't love you anymore."
That alone is enough to utterly crush a person, shattering their heart into pieces.
I don't love you, yet I do all sorts of intimate things with you.
What's this?
It can only be considered an object for venting physical desires.
Physical torture is no fun; mental torture is what's interesting.
She even forgot how to fight back.
She was like someone being slowly pushed into ice water by Jing Min; she wasn't dead, but she didn't even have the strength to struggle.
When I woke up the next day,
Jingmin is no longer here.
Chu Wuyang breathed a sigh of relief.
The room was quiet and tidy, even the sheets were spotless. Chu Wuyang touched the blankets beneath him; they were clean and white, without any bloodstains.
She felt clean and refreshed.
It seems Jingmin is a really thoughtful and responsible friend when it comes to making bubble tea.
The thought flashed through her mind, and she felt her body stiffen.
This is a truly terrifying and disgusting realization; she has automatically categorized him as a casual fling.
I really wish everything that happened yesterday...
Just like the tidiness of this room, it was thoroughly wiped, cleaned, and covered up, leaving no trace, as if it had never happened.
Unfortunately, the body may forget, but the heart will not.
She was too ashamed to face Jian Zhou again.
After tidying herself up, she originally planned to leave quietly, but was stopped by someone in the hospital lobby.
"Miss Chu."
She paused, startled, and instinctively stopped in her tracks.
Jian Zhou stood not far away, his expression revealing whether he was just passing by or had been waiting for her all along.
Chu Wuyang's whole body stiffened. She forced herself to turn around, trying her best to sound natural in her tone.
"Are you alright? Can you get out of bed?"
She regretted it as soon as the words left her mouth.
He got out of bed last night.
Isn't this just a veiled reminder of what happened last night?
Fortunately, Jian Zhou didn't respond to her comment; he simply looked at her with a complex expression in his eyes.
"I came here specifically to wait for you."
"Perhaps... we will never see each other again from today onwards."
