Gao Kangcheng instructed the driver to make sure to take Lin Yuxi to the entrance of the family compound.

When Lin Yuxi returned, Lin Weidong had already arrived, carrying large and small bags. Pan Hong had made several outfits for the child, as well as some socks and vests.

"Why does Grandma make so many things? Tell her to stop when we get back, it's bad for her eyes." Lin Yuxi held up the clothes to the child and compared them. The clothes were a little big, but she could roll up the sleeves and the child could wear them for several more months.

Lin Weidong sat on the sofa, teasing the child with a small toy, his face stern. "I heard from your mother that you've started working. But it seems like you're playing around at work. I'm working myself to the bone at the factory."

If he hadn't been tied up at the factory, he would have taken leave long ago to come over. Why did he wait until Lin Yuxi had given birth two months ago?

Lin Yuxi touched her nose. "Could it be that I'm too outstanding, so I finished my work early and came back?"

"I think you're just bored."

When Gu Chen returned, it was still bright outside. It was still early and dark quite late. He parked his bicycle in the yard and went back to the living room before he found Lin Weidong there.

“Dad, why didn’t you tell me you were coming? I could have come to pick you up,” Gu Chen said.

Lin Weidong waved his hand, "Why pick me up? I'm a grown man, it's not like I can't find my way. I'll have your mom pick me up at the door, so you won't be late for work."
