Moved All Family Property to the Countryside, She Became the Era's Sweetheart

Lin Yuxi woke up to find herself transmigrated into a novel set in a specific era. After only one day as a capitalist's young mistress, her home was raided, and she was sent to the countryside!...

Chapter 103 Guilty Feelings (2/2)

Gao Kangcheng instructed the driver to make sure to take Lin Yuxi to the entrance of the family compound.

When Lin Yuxi returned, Lin Weidong had already arrived, carrying large and small bags. Pan Hong had made several outfits for the child, as well as some socks and vests.

"Why does Grandma make so many things? Tell her to stop when we get back, it's bad for her eyes." Lin Yuxi held up the clothes to the child and compared them. The clothes were a little big, but she could roll up the sleeves and the child could wear them for several more months.

Lin Weidong sat on the sofa, teasing the child with a small toy, his face stern. "I heard from your mother that you've started working. But it seems like you're playing around at work. I'm working myself to the bone at the factory."

If he hadn't been tied up at the factory, he would have taken leave long ago to come over. Why did he wait until Lin Yuxi had given birth two months ago?

Lin Yuxi touched her nose. "Could it be that I'm too outstanding, so I finished my work early and came back?"

"I think you're just bored."

When Gu Chen returned, it was still bright outside. It was still early and dark quite late. He parked his bicycle in the yard and went back to the living room before he found Lin Weidong there.

“Dad, why didn’t you tell me you were coming? I could have come to pick you up,” Gu Chen said.

Lin Weidong waved his hand, "Why pick me up? I'm a grown man, it's not like I can't find my way. I'll have your mom pick me up at the door, so you won't be late for work."

In the evening, several people sat around the dining table.

Lin Yuxi only then learned that Lin Weidong had gone to work at the wire factory.

"That wire factory must be tough. Eat more, your health is important." Lin Yuxi put some food on his plate. Lin Weidong had lost several pounds in the few months they hadn't seen each other.

“I know, I can take good care of myself. Your mother is here, so you can go to work with peace of mind. Don’t worry about the child or your grandparents,” Lin Weidong said.

Tonight, Lin Yuxi brought the baby over to sleep with her. Since the crib could be moved anywhere, she simply moved it next to their bed.

Lin Weidong and Jiang Shufen hadn't seen each other for a long time, so they must have a lot to talk about.

For several days in a row, Lin Yuxi did not go to work. During the weekend, Gu Chen accompanied Lin Weidong on a tour of Beijing and bought a lot of local specialties to take with them, including gifts for Lin's grandparents and Lin Yuxi's maternal grandparents.

They've been married for so long, and they haven't even visited each other once.

“There’s plenty of time later. Your wedding was rushed, and the child is still young. There’s no rush to go later.” Lin Weidong said earnestly. It wouldn’t be quick to get there by train, and it wouldn’t be good if the child cried and fussed on the way.

Lin Weidong stayed for five days before leaving. He didn't take much leave; aside from the travel time, the five days he was able to stay were all taken from his regular holidays.

Gu Chen saw him off as he left Beijing, and gave him a final instruction before he left.

"Take good care of them, and take care of yourself too, don't overwork yourself."

Lin Yuxi was getting ready to go to work early in the morning. While waiting for her car at the entrance of the family compound, she ran into Zou Lengyan, who was holding her pregnant belly.

When Zou Lengyan saw her, her face was originally beaming with joy because she had come all the way from home after being pregnant. But as soon as she saw Lin Yuxi, her expression fell instantly. She looked Lin Yuxi up and down several times and, calculating the time, realized that she had indeed given birth.

Finally, she didn't dare to look her in the eye and hurriedly left.
