Lin Yuxi reached out and pushed his strong arm, her fingertips touching the taut muscle texture and feeling a slight burning sensation.

She asked, "You've been busy training lately, how come you still have the energy to do this at night? Aren't you tired?"

In terms of physical strength, she was ashamed of herself.

“I’m used to it. Every summer is the busiest time. We have a team competition coming up soon, which should be around the end of October. There are less than two months left, so we have to hurry. Training is important, but my wife is important too.” Gu Chen chuckled softly, his rough fingertips gently stroking her palm as he responded to her words.

The increased intensity of his workouts over this period resulted in Gu Chen becoming more muscular.

Gu Chen kissed her neck, his voice muffled, "You and Mom have had a tough time these past few days."

Lin Yuxi has been pregnant for three months now, and he naturally can't wait any longer.

For the past six months or so, I've been preparing for drills and competitions, spending every day at the training ground with a bunch of grown men. Nothing beats the comfort of home.

Besides training, he also had to write a training report after everyone finished training.

An hour later, the two of them hurriedly washed up before Gu Chen got down to business.

"During today's meeting, Battalion Commander Min and Company Commander Zhang were transferred away. They won't be living here anymore, at least not in this family compound. Even if their wives come back, they won't stay here."

When Gu Chen mentioned their wives, Lin Yuxi immediately guessed who they were.

It's probably because the two people had such a big impact; their positions didn't change, but they were transferred.

The benefits in this family compound are much better than those in other family compounds. Once you're transferred, the chances of being transferred back are slim.

"Once they left, the houses became empty. They were all nice three-bedroom apartments, and many people were vying to apply for them. After all, the buildings were big, and not many people liked the houses."

Gu Chen whispered in her ear, "When the child grows up, we'll move to another three-bedroom apartment. This place will be too small for us then."

The child is still young now, but when he/she gets a little older, he/she can sleep with Jiang Shufen, or with them.

"We'll talk about it later. Mom can't stay here forever. It's too early to talk about these things now."

Lin Yuxi thought about it for a moment. At least when the child was young, Jiang Shufen would stay here. Moreover, the college entrance examination was only two months away, and she might need Jiang Shufen's help then.

When she woke up the next day, the area next to the bed was no longer warm.

After getting married, Gu Chen never had a meal with his comrades in the army.

He also has a good reputation in the family compound. He does everything from washing clothes and cooking to taking the kids shopping for groceries. He's a model husband and wife.

Every day when he went home, he would take some food from the army base to bring back to his wife.

When he returned in the evening, he took two more apples out of his pocket.
