After her master's death, the metaphysics genius Lin Xi descends the mountain to set up a stall for fortune-telling, earning money while searching for her fiancé.
"Master, when will ...
Lin Xi looked up at the sky and said, "Now this feels like the final battle. It was too easy just now."
Shi Kong's hands trembled as he continued playing background music.
"Thump, thump thump, pfft, cough cough, thump thump—!"
Lin Xi's lips twitched. "If you release it again, you'll die."
Shi Kong felt dizzy and started talking nonsense.
"Enjoy life while you can, for death is inevitable, whether you die sooner or later."
"Heads may be severed, blood may flow."
"The music can't stop, and the filter can't be removed."
"I am the most handsome monk in the world!"
"Ta-da!!!"
Lin Xi's expression was complicated as she distanced herself from the mad monk.
Seven stars covered the sky, and dense black mist rose from the capital and surged into the vortex.
The vortex moved slowly and stopped above the forest stream, and the black air flowed down like a water column.
The fragments seemed to come alive, chattering away.
"Lin Xi, you are just like us."
"Lin Xi, don't make a futile struggle."
"Lin Xi, you also hate this world. Why did you save the world but end up like this..."
The cacophony of sounds echoed in her head. Lin Xi bit her lower lip, her eyes gradually becoming unfocused.
She heard a voice from the depths of her soul.
"You're tired, you don't want to struggle anymore."
"Child, go to sleep, go to sleep."
The fragments emitted an alluring scent, attempting to pull her into the abyss and hypnotize her consciousness.
Lin Xi clenched her fists, her nails digging into her flesh, a dense, tingling pain spreading throughout her body.
"Xi Xi!"
Fu Jingyao hugged her from behind, slowly prying open her fingers, his deep voice filled with urgency.
"Xixi, I'm here."
The four words flowed into her mind like a gentle stream, dispelling all the gloom and enough to awaken her.
Lin Xi seemed to wake from a dream, as if she had lived through another three thousand years. She turned around and snuggled into a warm embrace, her consciousness gradually returning.
After a while, she nuzzled the man's chin. "It's okay, don't worry, the fragments can't tempt me."
The vortex converged into a pair of bloodshot eyes, a look of astonishment flashing across them, followed by wild joy.
"Tsk tsk tsk, you two actually have the nerve to be together. In human terms, this is called a forbidden love."
Lin Xi looked up, her gaze instantly turning sharp. "Our affairs are none of your business!"
Shi Kong was very curious. "Stop coughing up blood. Let me ask you something when I have a moment. What exactly is your relationship?"
Lin Xi was annoyed. "None of your business!"
Shi Kong was inexplicably mocked, but instead laughed even harder, his chest heaving as he coughed up a mouthful of blood.
He fearlessly reached out to the sky, seemingly using his last strength, "Cough cough, my internal organs are shattered, I'm about to die, in my final moments, I have a great wish..."
"Tell me quickly, tell the monk who died tragically... what was their relationship?"
Dracula laughed heartily, "In view of your bloodshed, I will grant your last wish."
"They are..."
Shi Kong pricked up his ears, his heart pounding with excitement.
The next second, he heard the words "master and disciple," and his smile vanished instantly. He cursed at the sky.
"Damn it! What's so taboo about master and disciple? We're not even related by blood. I've already taken my pants off, and you've already made a huge mess. You've wasted my feelings. Amitabha, Master, I'm sorry."
He spoke a long string of words, but you couldn't tell he was going to die.
Linxi was utterly speechless.
This guy vomited blood all over the ground, yet he's still alive and even seems to be listening to gossip. He's really hard to kill.
The monks are not important; what matters is how to resolve the fragments.
Dracula is the spirit of an evil artifact, and the fragments are the source of his power.
As long as the fragments remain, he will never die.
Lin Xi has a headache.
Originally, the plan was to find the Pure Power first, deal with the fragments, and then capture Dracula. Unexpectedly, he created a formation that trapped everyone in the capital.
Fragments may not be good at much else, but they're top-notch at creating formations.
From the Ghost Realm, the Mermaid Illusion, the Twelve Heavenly Lanterns Soul-Slaying Array to the Seven Star Killing Array, all of them are ancient formations that have been lost for a long time.
Dracula possesses memories spanning millennia, making him akin to a dimensional reduction attack against humanity.
Break through the formation first, then rescue the people.
Lin Xi took out a peach wood sword, aimed it at the center of the vortex, and spun around, unleashing a sharp burst of air.
Rumble—!
The sky trembled violently, the seven stars rearranged, and a blinding light descended.
Fear!
"Hate them!"
"Become my nourishment!"
“Foolish humans…”
Inside the capital city, people hid in their homes, watching the strange phenomenon in the sky with fear in their eyes.
Little boy: "Mommy, what's that? It's swirling around like a tornado. Will we get swept away?"
The woman's voice trembled, "Stay at home and don't ask too many questions."
The man spoke up, "At three o'clock this afternoon, one sun turned into seven, and now it's windy."
Woman: "Is this the end of the world?"
The man cursed, "Such a big thing has happened, and the authorities haven't said a word. I wonder where they're drinking tea and enjoying air conditioning?"
The little boy screamed, "Ahhh! A monster is coming!"
Such conversations played out in countless families, plunging the entire city into endless panic.
Jiang Yuanyuan looked up at the sky, "The vengeful ghosts have been summoned back to the underworld, but the Seven Star Killing Formation has trapped the capital, and no one can get out."
Greenie lay on her shoulder, yawning wildly, "I haven't eaten my spicy snacks yet, the world can't end."
"Spicy strips, spicy strips, green and I miss you, slurp~"
Bai Xiuyuan stared at the compass, his brows furrowing. "The magnetic field is even more chaotic, the air currents are surging upwards, and there's no sign of life. The seven stars seem to be absorbing something."
"What is that?"
Countless black lines emerged from the tall building, disappeared into the vortex, and exuded an ominous aura.
Jiang Yuanyuan lowered her head, not daring to look directly at them. "I glanced at these black lines and couldn't help but feel scared."
