Chapter 121 Happiness that repeats itself

After leaving the clothing store, the two continued to walk along the street, wandering aimlessly. When they got tired, they sat on a bench to rest and watched the cars passing by on the road.

Jiang Yiyu said, how nice it would be if it were summer now.

Song Shengsheng bumped shoulders with him and laughed, "You're a strange person. When it's summer, you want winter, and when it's winter, you want summer. There's never a season you like in the whole year."

"What season do you like?"

"I love autumn in the north. There's not so much rain, and the air is clear and crisp. It feels like the clouds are far away. The leaves turn yellow and fall to the ground. Although it's a hassle to clean up, it's still quite beautiful. Especially when walking in parks and mountain trails with thick vegetation, the smell of rotting leaves mixed with the fragrance of the soil is an indescribable pleasure. If the fallen leaves were a little crisper, they would crackle when you step on them."

"It's a pity that I can't spend this autumn with you."

"You always have your own things to do, and so do I. After all, we've all grown up, with our own dreams and pursuits, as well as responsibilities and obligations."

"Yeah, I've grown up... This fall, if everything goes well and I finish filming my drama, I want to hold a concert."

"Concert? Wouldn't that require approval long in advance? Besides, there's still a lot of stuff you need to do in September this year! Sister Wen Jing said this morning that she'll take you to meet a big director at the end of August. The movie he's going to make this time is aiming for awards.

If you can get the director's approval and star in this film, your career will reach new heights. Once you win Best Actor, your track record will be even more impressive, and you'll truly be considered a talented actor! So, I hope you'll give it a try. I want to watch you become even more powerful and dazzling.

"Well, then we can only wait until next September."

"Well, more or less, but who knows what will happen next year. It's the same year after year, day after day. Life seems to repeat itself, but in reality, every day is different. There will always be new troubles and new challenges.

I read a book a while ago that said that all the setbacks and troubles you experience are actually tests that arise because you believe you can overcome them. All dramatic stories always end in peace, and in the friction between contradictions and conflicts, happiness repeats itself.

Jiang Yiyu lowered his head and loosened his scarf. "You're starting to lecture me again, dear. I'll keep it short. I only remember the last sentence: happiness that repeats itself."

"You're very good at grasping the key points. Actually, the principles I'm talking about may not be correct, and it doesn't matter if you can't remember them. Anyway, as long as you are willing to listen to me, I'm very happy."

She looked at Jiang Yiyu, reached out and took his hand, gently unfolded his slightly curled fingers, then intertwined theirs and smiled, "When do you think Mom and Dad will be back from meeting their future in-laws?"

"You have to stay for dinner."

"Then let's go have dinner too. I'm really tired after walking for so long."

The two of them chose a Jiangcheng local restaurant near a nearby shopping mall. Halfway through their meal, Jiang Yiyu received a call from Wen Jing. On the other end of the line, Wen Jing seemed to deliberately lower her voice: "Hello, Jiang Yiyu, help!"

"Hey, what's wrong? Did the parent-teacher meeting go wrong? Do your parents look down on Song Ming? I'm telling you, this is normal. Which good family's parents would be willing to let their daughter marry a playboy? You have to make Song Ming behave well..."

Before he could finish his words, Wen Jing interrupted him hurriedly: "Can you wait a while before talking nonsense? Let me finish what I want to say first."

"You talk." Jiang Yiyu moved the phone to his left hand, picked up the chopsticks and picked up a piece of pork ribs for Song Shengsheng.

Wen Jing said, "My parents want to see you."

"To see me?" Jiang Yiyu laughed when he heard it. "If I go, won't your Song Ming steal all the limelight? With his petty mind, who knows how he will plot against me in the future."

"My parents are your fans. Before, I told them that we were colleagues, but they didn't believe me. This time, Song Ming came, and your mother-in-law and my mom mentioned that you were her son-in-law and that you were in Jiangcheng. My mom wanted to meet you, and the more they talked, the happier they became. Song Ming asked me to call you and ask you to come over for help. As long as you show up, our relationship will be settled."

"No, Wenjing, what does your marriage have to do with whether I show up or not? Am I just a part of your marriage? And do you really want to marry him that much?"

Song Shengsheng put down her chopsticks and looked at Jiang Yiyu, who lip-synced to her.

Song Shengsheng nodded and listened to Jiang Yiyu continue: "Okay, I'll ask my wife if she wants to go. Send me the address first."

After hanging up the phone, Jiang Yiyu took a sip of water: "Wen Jing said she wants us to go over there."

"Then go ahead, but from what you just said, do you not want to show up? Or do you not want Sister Wenjing to marry my brother?"

Jiang Yiyu put down the cup and smiled nonchalantly: "My dear, what I said never had any extended meaning. Don't think of my words as reading comprehension. It's tiring."

Song Shengsheng raised his eyebrows: "I'm done eating. If you're ok with it, let's go."

Jiang Yiyu nodded, put on his mask and hat again, and handed the scarf to Song Shengsheng, asking her to help tie it.

After coming out of the restaurant, Song Shengsheng and Jiang Yiyu picked out gifts for Wen Jing's parents in the mall, and hurried over after buying them.

Wenjing's parents' home was not far from the shopping mall where they were, about a ten-minute walk away. As soon as they arrived at the gate of the community, they saw Wenjing waiting anxiously. A brown Teddy wearing a pink cotton jacket was squatting at her feet. The puppy started barking as soon as it saw them, and Wenjing hurriedly tightened the dog leash.
