Chapter 59 All given to me

Song Shengsheng hugged the book in his hand and trotted off: "Didn't I tell you to wait for me at home?"

"I want to see you soon. Don't run, be careful not to fall."

"I know, but I won't say anything more."

"Okay, don't worry."

After hanging up the phone with Jiang Yiyu, Song Shengsheng sped up his running again.

She ran to the parking lot panting and walked to the corner where Jiang Yiyu always parked his car.

Seeing her, Jiang Yiyu lowered the car window, stuck his head out, and waved at her. Song Shengsheng took a few quick steps, opened the back door, and got in: "You scared me to death, I thought you drove here by yourself!"

Jiang Yiyu took the book from her hand and glanced at his legs: "I can drive myself, but I'm afraid the traffic police won't let me, and you won't dare to sit in it."

After Song Shengsheng fastened his seat belt, he reached out and patted the front driver's seat: "Let's go to Mingyuan."

"Where is Mingyuan?" Song Shengsheng looked at him and asked.

Jiang Yiyu casually flipped through her notebook and said, "This is the place my mother left for me."

"Hmm? I haven't heard you say that before."

Jiang Yiyu turned to the page of notes she had just written today and gently stroked her handwriting with his fingers. "Guaiguai, you still like writing with a soft brush. Your thin gold style is really beautiful. I once received a fan letter, and the handwriting is quite similar to yours."

"Brother Yi Yu..."

Jiang Yiyu looked up at her, knowing what she wanted to hear, he smiled and said, "I used to go to other places during the holidays when I had nowhere to go. But in the past two years, I've basically been out of town, and that place must be even more desolate."

He closed Song Shengsheng's notebook and returned the book to her: "When I go there today, you write a couplet for me and I'll post it on the door to add some joy."

"Couplets are posted during the Chinese New Year."

"If you go, it will be like the New Year."

The car headed east, gradually leaving the city and driving into the mountains of the eastern suburbs. Seeing that it was going further and further away, Song Shengsheng glanced at Jiang Yiyu, only to see him still leaning against the car door, chewing a mint candy. Seeing her look over, he smiled, took out an earphone from his pocket and handed one to her: "It's a bit far. We should be there in five or six minutes."

Song Shengsheng took the earphones and put them on his right ear. Jiang Yiyu picked up his phone and tapped a few times. A slow English song played through the earphones. "Brother Yiyu, is there any staff at Mingyuan?"

"No, it's just an empty garden."

"oh."

"Want some mints? I was in such a hurry to leave today that I didn't bring any milk candy."

"good."

Before he had even finished chewing on a piece of candy, the car stopped in front of a luxurious antique courtyard guarded by two stone lions.

"Mr. Jiang, we're here."

"Um."

The driver got out of the car, took out Jiang Yiyu's wheelchair from the trunk and placed it in front of the car door. He opened the door from the outside and helped Jiang Yiyu out of the car. Song Shengsheng came down from the other side and took Jiang Yiyu's wheelchair from the driver.

Jiang Yiyu put on a gray hoodie, hummed a song in his headphones, and pointed to the slope behind the stone lions on the left to Song Shengsheng: "Push me up from that side, it should be less strenuous."

"You use me quite easily."

"I have a disability, and there are stairs here, so it's really inconvenient." Jiang Yiyu smiled and took out a bunch of brass keys with faded red tassels from his pocket and handed them to her: "Give the keys to the hostess."

Song Shengsheng took it and shook it: "To be honest, this place is so deserted that it's a bit scary."

Jiang Yiyu kicked the weeds beside the stone lions as he passed them and said, "Only such a desolate place can hold secrets."

"Secret? What secret?"

Jiang Yiyu peeled another mint candy and put it in his mouth. Song Shengsheng pushed him up the slope and parked the wheelchair at the door. She inserted the key and turned it a few times, then listened to Jiang Yiyu slowly say, "Song Ming didn't tell you that I stole my mother's tablet from the Jiang family."

Song Shengsheng paused as he was about to open the door: "He said it, but he wouldn't hide it, would he?"

"The tablet won't be hidden, but there are things here that Jiang Yuan has always wanted, such as the evidence my mother left behind that could bring him down, Jiang's shares, and some of his assets, including this garden."

Song Shengsheng pushed open the door. Jiang Yiyu held onto the door frame and supported himself to stand up. Song Shengsheng helped him lift the wheelchair over the threshold and closed the door.

“This place must have been very beautiful before, right?”

"Yes. When my mother was alive, she often sent people to clean the place. She also hired the best gardeners and perfumers to do the renovations and decorations. She loved these ancient things." Jiang Yiyu pointed to the corridor on the left: "Go that way, and you'll reach the main hall after you pass through it."

"good."

"When I was a child, there was a pond in the middle of the corridors on both sides. There were rockeries, fish swimming around, and clumps of water lilies. The weeping willows and bamboos beside the pond were also very beautiful. When I was six years old, I was playing around and fell into it. When I was rescued, I was holding a red koi in my arms. I refused to let go and insisted on making it into a braised dish."

"Did you eat it later?"

Jiang Yiyu laughed muffledly and said, "No, I was scolded by my mother."

Song Shengsheng turned to look at the pond Jiang Yiyu mentioned, imagining what it would look like when it was still wet. "It's quite rare to have such a garden here."

"Don't you have one at home?"

Song Shengsheng smiled and said, "That's in Jiangcheng, not in the capital."

"Land in Beijing is very expensive, and it gets less valuable the further you go into the suburbs. My grandmother and her family built this place just for fun. When I come back next month, I'll get someone to clean up the front and back yards, and we'll redecorate them. When you have nothing to do in the future, you can live here and have fun as a farm stay."
