After breakfast, classes began at the academy. Students were divided into many classes according to their age, academic level, and most importantly, according to the level of exams they would be taking.

Xu Bai and Chen Yuyuan were in the same class, and their seats were next to each other. Besides them, Chen Yuyuan's older brother, Chen Yukang, was also in the same class. All of them were preparing to take the county examination next year, starting from the preliminary examination.

As soon as he sat down, Xu Bai started talking to the two classmates sitting behind him, making the large classroom quite chaotic.

Xu Di stood at the classroom door, as if pressing the pause button. The children, who were around ten years old, immediately sat down obediently like mice seeing a cat, and no longer made a sound.

Xu Di wasn't actually a very serious person, but for some reason, all the younger children in the school were afraid of him. Xu Bai, Chen Yuyuan, and Chen Yukang quickly stood up. Xu Di nodded and said, "Brother Bai, come out with Yuyuan for a moment."

Xu Bai and Chen Yuyuan exchanged glances. Xu Bai felt a little guilty because Xu Di knew what he had just done. Xu Bai followed behind Chen Yuyuan and whispered, "Yuyuan, this is bad. My brother is here to settle scores with me."

Chen Yuyuan said, "Don't be afraid, it's okay."

When the two arrived outside the classroom, Xu Di said, "You two go to the study in the front yard. Your uncle is here and has something to discuss with you."

Chen Yuyuan found it strange. His maternal uncle was the maternal uncle of the Xu family. What did he have to do with his own Chen family? However, since Xu Di asked him to go with him, Chen Yuyuan didn't say anything and followed Xu Bai to the study in the front yard.

The two men were still standing at the door of the study. Xu Bai walked up to them and said with a smile, "Brothers, I am here on your orders."

One of them nodded, and seeing that the two people were still expressionless, Xu Bai and Chen Yuyuan quickly went into the room.

The study is a combination of three rooms. Upon entering, there is a screen that is taller than a person. After passing the screen, there is a bookshelf that extends directly to the ceiling without beams and connects with the room's ceiling. This bookshelf is both tall and wide, and it is filled with many books, some of which are said to be rare copies. It is the most valuable place in the entire academy.

The room on the east side is for reading and writing, with bookshelves on three sides of the wall and a large desk by the window. The room on the west side is for receiving guests, especially important ones. Regular guests are entertained in a courtyard next to the study.

After Xu Bai pulled Chen Yuyuan inside, they went around the screen to the west room, where they saw Yue Qingchuan drinking tea with Wu Muyue.

Xu Bai quickly knelt down, kowtowed to Wu Muyue, and said with a smile, "Uncle, I really didn't expect you to come."

Wu Muyue nodded, turned to look at Chen Yuyuan, who was kneeling on the ground with Xu Bai, waved his hand and said, "You two should stand up quickly, there's no need for such formality."

Xu Bai pulled Chen Yuyuan to sit on a chair to the side and asked warmly, "Uncle, what brings you here? Did you come here specifically for this trip, or were you just passing by?"

Wu Muyue said with a smile, "I came here specifically for this purpose, but I was just passing by."

Xu Bai didn't take Wu Muyue's words seriously, nodded, and said, "Uncle, would you like to climb Mount Tai? If you want to go, I'll go with you."

Wu Muyue shook his head and said, "I came in a hurry this time and have to rush to another place, so I won't go."

Xu Bai nodded and said, "We've already reached the foot of the mountain, but we didn't have time to climb up. It's really a pity."

Yue Qingchuan said with a smile, "Brother Bai, your uncle is here this time to take you and Yuyuan with him."

Upon hearing this, Xu Bai looked at Chen Yuyuan in surprise, only to see that Chen Yuyuan was also looking at him with a surprised expression. Considering that Chen Yuyuan and Wu Muyue were not very familiar with each other, Xu Bai asked, "Uncle, why are you taking me and Yuyuan with you?"

Wu Muyue patiently said, "Your uncle sees that you are a promising talent. It just so happens that your father wrote to me, wanting me to teach you properly for a few years. Your uncle thought that he was alone anyway, and having you would keep him company, so he agreed."

Xu Bai nodded and said, "I understand."

Xu Bai naturally knew Chen Yuyuan's identity, and he understood that Wu Muyue wanted to be Chen Yuyuan's teacher.

Xu Bai was quite happy to be able to learn from Wu Muyue. He felt that Wu Muyue was not a rigid person, and that the teaching for Chen Yuyuan would definitely emphasize practice over theory. Chen Yuyuan would be competing for that position in the future, and if he wanted to govern the country well, he would have to personally practice some things. After all, only practice can lead to true knowledge.

Chen Yuyuan had a vague guess in her heart, but felt that the hope of this guess was somewhat slim. She patiently sat aside and listened to Xu Bai and Wu Muyue talking.

While talking to Xu Bai, Wu Muyue glanced at Chen Yuyuan sitting to the side and found that Chen Yuyuan was a calm and composed person. He nodded in approval. Being able to keep his composure and having a steady personality meant that he would not panic when faced with problems.

Wu Muyue said, "Go back and pack your luggage, then say goodbye to your classmates properly. We will set off for Ganzhou early tomorrow morning."

Before Xu Bai could even express his excitement, Chen Yuyuan looked up, her eyes full of surprise, and asked, "Sir, are we going to Aunt's house?"
