After chatting with Xu Zhi for a few minutes, Ping Shi made arrangements to go home and asked He'er to go to the backyard to find Miao'er.

He'er naturally knew which room Xu Bai and the others were in. Since she knew Xu Bai and Chen Yuyuan, she decided to go in and visit them. However, upon entering, she saw five bamboo beds lined up side by side, with a young man lying on each bed.

He'er's face turned red instantly. She stood at the door, at a loss. When she saw Miao'er standing in front of Xu Bai's bed, she wanted to say a few words to Xu Bai, but she was too embarrassed. In the end, she gritted her teeth, walked to Xu Bai's bedside, and asked him about his injuries with concern.

After exchanging a few words, He'er took Miao'er's hand and left the room. Miao'er said unhappily, "Sister, why did you take me with you? I still have some things to say to Brother Xu."

Looking at her innocent and carefree younger sister, He'er sighed and said, "Little sister, you're almost seven years old. You need to learn to be more mindful of the proper conduct between boys and girls. You can't just go into other boys' rooms like you are now."

Miao'er pouted and said unhappily, "Sister, I didn't go to any other boy's room. I only went to Brother Xu's room. Besides, Brother Xu was injured, and I just came to check on him. Normally, I would never go to Brother Xu's room."

After He'er and Miao'er left, Chen Yukang said to Xu Bai, "The little girl next door to my cousin's family is really pretty."

After Xu Bai finished laughing, he put his hands down and said, "Mrs. Feng next door is currently worried about the marriage of her eldest daughter. If you think that girl is pretty, then go after her."

As soon as Xu Bai finished speaking, Chen Yuqiao shouted sternly, "Xu Bai, what are you saying? What kind of behavior is this? This is the behavior of a street urchin. If you really do this, you will bring shame to the family and to that girl."

Xu Bai was the fastest, and apart from Chen Yuqiao who was engaged, the other four people present had not yet been engaged. He did not expect that such a joke would make Chen Yuqiao angry. Bai Shu had been busy for two days and was exhausted. She didn't dare to stray too far from the room where the wounded were being treated, so she was lying down to sleep in the next room. Chen Yuyuan stood at the door and called out Bai Shu's name loudly.

Bai Shu vaguely heard someone calling her, and she woke up with a start. She rolled over and ran outside, almost bumping into Chen Yuyuan who was standing at the door. She was startled, but finally came to her senses and asked, "Young Master, is something wrong?"

Chen Yuyuan said anxiously, "Brother Yuqiao's wound has reopened."

Upon hearing this, Bai Shu hurriedly went into the room.

Xu Bai sat by Chen Yuqiao's bedside, holding Chen Yuqiao's hand, and said while shedding tears, "Cousin Yuqiao, how are you? It's all my fault, it's all my fault. You can scold me a few times, or when you get better, you can hit me a few times, okay?"

Chen Yuqiao glared at Xu Bai, then lay down and refused to speak to him anymore.

Xu Bai held Chen Yuqiao's hand and cried, "Cousin Yuqiao, please don't ignore me. I was just being cheeky. I really didn't mean it. Please forgive me. Please say something to me."

When Bai Shu entered, she saw Xu Bai crying with snot and tears streaming down his face. The other two, who were unable to walk properly, looked anxious but could not approach him. Bai Shu sighed and said to Xu Bai, "Seventh Master, please stop crying. Let me come and check on Young Master's injuries, okay?"

Xu Bai then stood up, supporting himself on the bed, and walked to the side.

After examining Bai Zhu, it was found that the wound had reopened. The only solution was to cut open the previously stitched wound and stitch it up again. He repeatedly warned her not to make any sudden movements. Although she was young, the wound was still too long, and she had missed a lot of schooling.

The commotion drew everyone over, except for Zheng Boyuan, who wasn't home. From Wu Muyue to Xu Di, then to Xu Yao and Lin Zhining, as well as Chen Zhaozhi and Xu Zhi, everyone rushed over from the front and back yards.

After finding out what had happened, Xu Di glared at Xu Bai, which startled Xu Bai so much that he dared not look at Xu Di's face again.

Chen Zhaozhi, Chen Yuqiao's uncle, sighed and said to Chen Yuqiao, "Yuqiao, if your brothers have done anything wrong, tell them slowly. If that doesn't work, you still have me as your elder. Your injuries are very serious, and you can't afford to reopen them."
