In the Spirit Realm battlefield, sparks flew in the valley as dozens of mechs engaged in fierce combat. However, at the most intense moment of the battle, two sneaky mechs suddenly darted out one...
In Xiang Fan's little room, only a dim chandelier flickered with a faint light. He huddled on a simple wooden chair, a bowl of porridge in one hand and half a slightly cold steamed bun in the other, chewing slowly, bite by bite. This was his dinner for the day; while it wasn't sumptuous, it at least filled his stomach.
Suddenly, the communication device on the table emitted a slight buzzing sound, and the screen lit up. A familiar voice came from the other end of the psychic network: "Junior Brother, how are you doing?"
Xiang Fan was stunned for a moment, and hurriedly stuffed the bun into his mouth, chewed it twice and swallowed it. Then he wiped the corner of his mouth and smiled ingratiatingly: "Senior Sister? How did you find time to contact me?"
On the screen, Lu Qingli's virtual projection slowly emerged. She was still dressed in white, her hair flowing like a waterfall, and her cold face was filled with a gentle smile. She propped her chin on one hand and looked at him with a half-smile. "Why, you don't have time to contact Senior Sister, but you think she has time to contact you?"
Xiang Fan scratched his head guiltily: "How could that be possible... I'm just afraid of disturbing my senior sister's cultivation."
"Hmph, you little heartless fellow." Lu Qingli snorted softly, a look of reproach in her eyes. "Since you left, there's been no news. I was almost worried that you might have starved to death out there."
Xiang Fan immediately sat up straight, patting his chest and assuring, "Of course not! I've been doing well recently and have gotten used to my work. Worker Hong in the workshop is very good and has taught me a lot. The other colleagues are also very friendly."
"Well, is that really the case?" Lu Qingli narrowed her eyes, her gaze fixed on the steamed buns and porridge in Xiang Fan's hands, her tone suddenly filled with disdain, "Is this how you make a living?"
Xiang Fan quickly put the steamed bun on the table, trying to block his senior sister's sight, and said with a dry laugh: "Hehe, it's good to keep it simple. Just eat your fill."
Lu Qingli frowned slightly and said in a bad tone, "Xiang Fan, you don't really plan to live on steamed buns every day, do you? You are a cultivator, how can you make yourself worse than a mortal?"
Xiang Fan smiled awkwardly: "Just save some money. When I have enough, I can replace some parts for my broken mecha."
Lu Qingli stared at him for a while, as if thinking about something, and finally just sighed helplessly: "Forget it, I'm too lazy to talk to you with your temper. But if you have any difficulties, just tell me, don't try to handle it alone."
Xiang Fan nodded immediately: "Of course!"
After chatting for a while, Lu Qingli suddenly said seriously: "By the way, Junior Brother, a lot of things have happened on Yunxuanxing recently."
Xiang Fan's smile faded slightly, and he raised his head and asked, "What happened?"
"The Star Lord is closely tracking down the remnants of the Hundred Star Sect. I heard they recently apprehended a group of individuals connected to the poison. Also, the psychic network is now under strict control." Lu Qingli paused and continued, "But the sect has also begun to recognize the importance of mechas. They've already started several mecha classes, and Master has asked everyone to learn how to operate the psychic network and mechas. After all, everyone now understands that ordinary cultivators are virtually defenseless against a large army of mechas."
Xiang Fan listened and nodded thoughtfully, "This is a good thing. From now on, everyone's cultivation methods may also need to adapt to these new changes."
"That's right," Lu Qingli smiled softly, and suddenly her tone changed as if she had thought of something. "But, do you know what's been circulating in the sect lately?"
"What?" Xiang Fan blinked warily.
Lu Qingli slowly approached the screen, the corners of her mouth curled up slightly: "They are all saying that Zero is from our Lingxiao Sect."
"Puff—" Xiang Fan almost choked on his own saliva, coughed violently twice, and waved his hands frantically: "Stop joking, I don't know who Zero is. I'm just an ordinary cultivator, I really don't know him."
Lu Qingli had a look of seeing through everything, with a hint of teasing in her eyes: "Oh? You're pretending in front of Senior Sister too?"
"No... No way!" Xiang Fan quickly covered his mouth, but in his heart he was screaming frantically: It's over! Senior Sister won't tell anyone!
Lu Qingli looked at his embarrassment and couldn't help laughing. "Okay, I won't tease you anymore." She sighed softly, her tone a little gentler. "But don't always eat these meaningless buns. If you need anything, tell me and I'll find a way to send it to you. Don't always try to be so stubborn."
Xiang Fan waved his hands repeatedly: "No, no, I'm really doing well."
"Don't be so stubborn." Lu Qingli rolled her eyes and smiled. "If you keep giving me such perfunctory treatment, next time I return to the sect, I will personally check your account to see if you've been secretly saving money to buy mecha parts."
Xiang Fan suddenly looked as if he was facing a great enemy: "Senior Sister, you can't do such a thing!"
"Heh." Lu Qingli smiled lightly, with a hint of cunning in her eyes, "Let's see how you perform."
The two chatted for a while, until Xiang Fan's eyelids began to droop. Lu Qingli waved her hand and said, "Alright, I won't disturb your rest. Remember, if you have any problems, contact me first. Don't always think about fighting alone."
"Okay, got it." Xiang Fan nodded, reluctantly watching the screen slowly dim.
The room was silent again, with only the chandelier still swaying slightly, casting a dim light and shadow.
Xiang Fan stretched, yawned, and lay down on the small bed with a barely perceptible smile on his lips.
He looked at the ceiling and murmured softly: "Sure enough, there are still people who care..."
He closed his eyes, his tired body finally relaxed, and he fell into a deep sleep.
Senior sister's concern
Xiang Fan looked down at the steamed bun in his hand and suddenly felt that it was no longer fragrant. He said awkwardly, "Sister, I'm really fine. This steamed bun is also very delicious. It's cheap and filling."
