In the Spirit Realm battlefield, sparks flew in the valley as dozens of mechs engaged in fierce combat. However, at the most intense moment of the battle, two sneaky mechs suddenly darted out one...
Inside the Qixing Company's energy transmission testing laboratory, a bustling scene unfolded. Psionic light tubes cast a pale blue glow, illuminating the entire lab hall like some giant magic circle. The rune circuits on countless debugging platforms flickered with faint psychic energy fluctuations.
Laboratory supervisor Zhou Cheng stood before the monitoring screen, his arms folded across his chest, his expression unsettling. His brow furrowed, his eyes revealing a hint of fatigue and impatience. "This is the last batch of samples..." he muttered softly. "The reports submitted by the previous working groups were all rejected. I'm afraid this batch won't fare much better."
Several experimenters gathered around the test bench, adjusting the connection nodes of the psychic engine. Psionic energy waves slowly flowed through the core, and lines of complex data codes began to appear on the projection screen, and the energy transmission curve jumped in sync.
Zhou Cheng glanced at the screen and waved his hand lazily: "Let's get started, don't waste time."
However, just a few seconds after the test started, the atmosphere in the originally routine laboratory suddenly changed.
"Wait, the efficiency of psychic energy transmission... is wrong!" An experimenter frowned suddenly, staring at the screen, his eyes full of disbelief.
A colleague nearby listened and casually complained, "Stop joking! What kind of useless group can produce such an effective sample? Are you dazzled again?"
However, the data changes on the screen slapped them in the face - the curve of psychic energy transmission efficiency not only did not stagnate at around 70% as usual, but was rising rapidly!
The experimenters gathered around one after another, fearing that they had misread the data, and began to frantically check the connection status.
"What's going on? Psionic energy transmission has exceeded 85%?!"
“Wait, it’s still going up…89%…92%!”
"How is this possible?! This is just a Foundation Establishment-level mecha engine. Normally, 80% is considered acceptable. How can it exceed 90%?!"
Zhou Cheng was also attracted by the movement. He turned around and rushed to the screen. His face, which was full of fatigue just now, suddenly became serious, and his eyes were fixed on the rising transmission curve.
The experimenter's fingers tapped quickly on the virtual console, and a series of debugging commands were issued, but no abnormal fluctuations appeared in the data - this meant that there was nothing wrong with the test instrument, and all the values were objective!
After a few seconds, the final value of the psychic energy transmission efficiency was fixed at an almost unbelievable level - 96.8%.
"This... this has practically reached the efficiency of a Jindan-class mecha engine!" Zhou Cheng's voice trembled. "Are you kidding me? Is this really a Foundation Establishment-class engine?!"
The laboratory fell into deathly silence, and everyone stared blankly at the screen, as if this was no longer an ordinary test, but rather witnessing some miracle of psychic science.
The entire laboratory fell into a brief silence, and then exploded as if a psychic bomb had been thrown into it.
"Supervisor, which group made this engine?" An experimenter couldn't help but ask, his tone full of shock.
Zhou Cheng frowned as he searched through the experimental records that had been sent along. His fingers quickly slid across several pages before finally stopping on a note sheet.
"D3 Working Group."
He froze for a moment, the expression on his face changing from shock to complete confusion.
D3 Working Group?
Was he seeing right? The D3 team, known for being the last in the pack? The D3 team that couldn't even connect the most basic psychic circuits correctly, and whose optimization efficiency was always at the bottom?
The experimenters looked at each other, seemingly unable to understand this reality.
"When did they reach such a level of technology?" Zhou Cheng muttered in a low voice, feeling a strong sense of disobedience in his heart.
Could it be that the D3 team recently recruited some hidden big boss who secretly helped them change the design?
The experimenter asked cautiously, "Do you want to go to Group D3 to confirm?"
Zhou Cheng pondered for a moment, his expression changing constantly. Finally, he slammed the report shut and said, "No, I have to go and ask in person."
He walked out of the laboratory, his steps much faster than usual.
At the same time, in the D3 working group's maintenance workshop, several engineers were huddled around a half-finished psychic engine with worried faces.
"I'm sure I'll be scolded again this time."
"There's nothing we can do. Our team's computing core is simply unstable, and no matter how we optimize it, it still doesn't meet our requirements."
"Forget it, forget it. I'll just wait for the supervisor to come and give me a lecture and that'll be it."
They were fiddling with the instruments dejectedly when they suddenly heard hurried footsteps at the door.
Everyone looked up suddenly and saw Zhou Cheng pushing the door open, holding a stack of documents in his hand, with an expression on his face that was so complicated that it was hard to read.
The members of the D3 working group suddenly became nervous and subconsciously stood up straight, as if ready to be reprimanded at any time.
However, Zhou Cheng did not start cursing immediately. Instead, he slammed the report on the table and glanced at everyone with sharp eyes.
"Who made the correction plan for this sample of yours?"
The lead engineer was stunned for a moment, blinking blankly. "Revised plan? Isn't that the original plan we submitted? What's being revised?"
Zhou Cheng sneered and tapped his fingers on the report. "Don't pretend! The circuit modifications above are clearly marked. It's much better than your original design. Don't tell me this isn't your work."
The engineers in Group D3 were completely stunned. They looked at each other with bewildered expressions.
"Supervisor, did you get the wrong report? The one we submitted was the original optimized design, and we haven't made any changes to it..."
