After the coffee, cake, milk tea, and ice cream arrived, the atmosphere was noticeably less oppressive than before.
After they parted, Yan's mother looked at Shen Shiyi, who had been picked up, and the two children. Just then, her phone, which was in her LV handbag, rang, and she reached out to take it out and answer it.
"Hello."
"Honey, what are you doing at home?" Hearing his wife vent last night, he realized that he hadn't been giving her enough attention.
"It's fine. I wasn't home. I went out for a walk and will be back soon."
Upon hearing this, Yan's father immediately felt relieved.
"That's good. You should go out and travel more."
Hearing her husband's words, Yan's mother smiled.
"Honey, how about I book you a tour? You can go have some fun." He was afraid that she was still feeling uneasy, which wouldn't be good for her mental or physical health.
Yan's mother rejected her husband's suggestion, feeling that chatting with Shen Shiyi and her two daughters had greatly relieved her emotional distress.
"No need, you can focus on your work."
Seeing this, Yan's father had no choice but to agree.
"Okay, then you can go back later. I'll hang up now."
Shen Shiyi looked at the phone number in her phone's contact list, and couldn't help but smile. She then happily went home.
When Aunt Ni and Aunt Wu saw the lady return, their faces were full of smiles. They exclaimed that shopping was so good, it could even improve one's mood.
"Our lady may have spent a lot of money today."
"Maybe so, that's why they say spending money makes people happy."
Both Yan's father and Yan Yaru noticed that something was wrong with Yan's mother. At breakfast time, the two looked at her with suspicion.
"Mom, what happy thing happened to you recently?"
When Yan's father heard his daughter speak, he stared at her intently, while Yan's mother smiled faintly.
"I'm having dinner with some people tonight, are you coming back?"
The two looked at each other, and Yan's father looked at his wife.
"What time is it?"
"Maybe around five o'clock." The main thing is that they need to go home after eating.
The two shook their heads helplessly.
"Mom, Dad and I hadn't gotten off work yet at that time."
Mother Yan nodded calmly.
"It's alright, you guys go ahead with your work."
After her afternoon nap, Mrs. Yan, feeling refreshed and well-rested, came downstairs. On the first floor, Aunt Ni and Aunt Wu were preparing dinner. Seeing Mrs. Yan enter, they greeted her with smiles.
"lady."
"Madam is awake."
"Yes, are you all asleep?"
The two nodded with faint smiles.
"Slept with."
Yan's mother joined in preparing dinner.
When Sophie and Aunt Qu went to pick up Gu Niansi, they were surprised to be told that they were going to have dinner at a grandmother's house.
Aunt Qu looked up and stared at Su Fei in surprise. Su Fei asked in confusion.
Which grandma?
Gu Niansi spoke calmly.
"Grandma Yan, I promised her. She said it will be ready soon."
The two had no choice but to take Gu Niansi with them to the appointment.
While in the car, Sophie called the old house, and the old man, who was sitting on the sofa watching TV, answered the phone.
"Hello."
Upon hearing her father's voice, Sophie immediately spoke up.
"Dad, we won't be home for dinner tonight. We're taking Niannian to a friend's house for dinner."
Upon hearing this, the old man felt somewhat disappointed and helpless.
"Then please be careful."
When everyone arrived at the address given by Gu Niansi, the car stopped in front of a villa. Hearing the commotion inside, Yan's mother quickly wiped her hands and came out.
"You've arrived! Please come in!"
Sophie and Aunt Qu, each carrying a gift, were invited into the house by Mother Yan.
When Aunt Ni and Aunt Wu came out, they realized that the lady's guest was a cute and pretty little child, and they were both very surprised.
After sitting down, Yan's mother served a bowl of the carefully stewed soybean and pork rib soup to the two children.
"Niannian, come and try Grandma's soybean and pork rib soup, it's so delicious."
Gu Niansi looked up and smiled sweetly.
"Thank you, beautiful grandma."
Seeing that she had started drinking, Yan's mother quickly called out to Su Fei and the other woman.
"Hurry up and eat, see how it tastes?"
Sophie smiled faintly and raised her hand to pick up a piece of braised food, while Aunt Qu picked up a piece of stir-fried green beans.
"Well enough."
"Hmm, not bad."
Hearing the two people's praise, the three of them smiled at each other and enjoyed their meal together in harmony.
The old man, Su Lielong, Qin's mother, and Shen Zhifan sat at the dining table. Qin Zhen returned just in time for dinner.
He was completely stunned to see that there were only four people in the house.
"Where are Xiaofei and the others?"
Qin's mother said calmly, "Niannian promised someone she would have dinner at their house."
She still feels a bit depressed when she talks about it. Usually, the family meals are lively and bustling, but suddenly there's one less child, and it just doesn't feel right.
Upon hearing this, Qin Zhen had no choice but to sit down.
The old man said calmly, "Let's eat."
When they were almost finished, Su Ningrong and Qin Ziming returned together. Upon seeing them, the old man immediately asked Li Sao to prepare some more dishes.
"Sit down and rest for a while. There are still some leftovers. We'll heat them up and stir-fry some vegetables for you. Just make do with these."
The two nodded slightly.
"Okay, Dad."
Qin Ziming found it strange that she didn't see her daughter and aunt.
"What about Nian Nian and the others?"
After finishing his meal, Shen Zhifan looked up at his father.
“A grandma called Niannian and said they went to her house for dinner.”
Qin Ziming looked up in surprise.
"A grandmother? Do you know her?"
Shen Zhifan recalled the scene from that day.
"Mom knows her too. That grandma even treated us to ice cream, milk tea, and cake that weekend."
Qin Ziming relaxed upon hearing this.
"That's good."
Remembering that her son had been in elementary school for some time, Qin Ziming showed concern again.
