Chapter 90 Leaving is the only option

"You'd better forget about him," the black-clad figure said to Xi Yun, as if it could read her mind.

"Hmm? Why?" Xi Yun frowned and asked in return.

"You two will not have a good outcome, neither for you nor for him. Leaving each other is the best choice for both of you."

"I don't believe it!" Xi Yun shouted.

It's hard to believe that just a short while ago, the two of them were chatting and laughing, and Sui Xin even proposed to her, promising to spend their lives together.

"Sigh, some things are destined. You two are destined not to be together. There's no way to change it, so just give up," the woman sighed and said.

"Stop talking, I won't believe you," Xi Yun shouted, almost bursting into tears.

The shadowy figure seemed to have known the outcome all along, saying, "Believe it or not, you'll find out soon enough."

Xi Yun followed behind, seemingly lost in thought, her eyes lifeless.

My mind is racing. Being with him, I'm not afraid of even death.

But if my presence causes Suixin to be hurt or suffer, would I be willing to leave?

Over the years, he's done enough of what he wanted. Every time he fought for himself, every time he got hurt, every time he was in pain, every time he pretended to be doing nothing. As soon as he closed his eyes, the images would instantly flash through his mind.

Could it really be because of me? Xi Yun couldn't help but ask herself.

Neither of them spoke after that, and they walked inside one after the other.

The road surface gradually changed from green to red, and an altar could be vaguely seen at the end.

The altar was very tall, seemingly reaching the heavens, with its top obscured by clouds, adding to its mystery. Below the altar was a circular plaza with a blinding light in the center, the source of which was unknown.

Xi Yun slowly walked over, feeling somewhat puzzled, as if she had been here before.

"Didn't you want to know the answer?" came the voice of the shadowy figure, pointing to the bright light in the middle and speaking to Xi Yun.

Xi Yun looked in that direction, and in an instant, the light completely overwhelmed her vision, as if her consciousness had entered the light.

Inside was a bright white expanse, and nothing else.

With a "buzz," a figure appeared before her.

Xi Yun's eyes widened. The woman before her, aside from the different hair color, bore a striking resemblance to her. "Are you my past life?"

Xi Yun asked, "When I first encountered Xiao Yun'er's spirit, this is what Xiao Yun'er said."

"Your past life? Did you encounter other spirits?" the woman asked.

“Yes, but she didn’t say I could leave as I pleased,” Xi Yun said, her voice filled with wariness.

"Hehe, don't worry, I'm not your past life, we just have some connection," the woman laughed.

"Now, I'll tell you why."

The woman raised her hand and waved it, and two star-map-like objects flew out from her palm.

Both star charts have a bright spot at their center, but the difference is that the star chart on the left is bright and surrounded by many stars, exuding a warm feeling; while the star chart on the right is unique and lonely, surrounded by a cloud of mist, giving a feeling of coldness and desolation.

"The one on the left, Ye Suixin, is destined to be dazzling from birth, like the bright moon among the stars, with an unlimited future; the one on the left is you, born unique, loneliness is your destiny," the woman said slowly, her tone tinged with a hint of regret.

"So what?" Xi Yun retorted, as if these things didn't prove anything.

"Don't rush."

The woman raised her hand again, and the two star charts merged into one. In an instant, the stars shifted. The dark spot on the right slowly moved towards the bright spot on the left, the mist on the left gradually enveloped the right, and the original bright spot gradually dimmed until it completely lost its color and disappeared into the sky.

"Now you understand, right? Nothing will happen if you two separate, but once you meet, it will bring him disaster," the woman said, staring at Xi Yun.

"Perhaps you didn't feel it before because you were still weak and the influence was weak, but as you gradually become stronger, this effect will only become more and more obvious."

"Are you saying that I brought disaster to Suixin?" Xiyun asked, her face pale as she looked at the star map.

"Otherwise what? Given his current physical condition, I don't know how he's managed to live to this day," the woman said, pursing her lips.

"What do you mean?" Xi Yun's heart tightened, and she quickly asked.

"Back when you were in Sword Valley, he used four True Phoenix Life-Snatching Techniques at once, which reduced his lifespan by half. It's a miracle he didn't die immediately, and it's extremely difficult for him to recover."

"Besides, a few days ago, I don't know what he did, but if someone hadn't secretly stopped him, his lifespan would have been completely drained," the woman said, while watching Xi Yun's reaction.

"With less than a tenth of his lifespan remaining, his very essence has already been damaged, and he may not even live past ten years."

Through Xi Yun, she saw their past encounters and Sui Xin's situation. Her tone revealed a hint of confusion, as there were a few points that seemed somewhat illogical.

Xi Yun's eyes were red and she asked loudly, "How could this happen?"

She couldn't believe it. Logically, the blood pact between her and Suixin should reflect changes in each other's lifespan, but she seemed to recover in no time. She thought Suixin was the same.

"Hmph, relying on your so-called blood pact? Let me tell you, even if he dies, you'll only be bedridden for a few days at most," the woman said, sounding quite angry.

As he spoke, he raised his hand, and the contract connecting the two of them vanished instantly.

I felt that my connection with Suixin had been severed.

Xi Yun could no longer hold back. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she cried out. She felt weak all over and collapsed to the ground.

My heart is filled with endless self-blame and heartache for Sui Xin.

So he had silently endured so much. Was my so-called companionship a comfort or a thorn in my side?
