Chapter 97 Exchange and Learning

The next morning, Sui Xin slowly got up, leaning on the railing, and brushed the snow off her body. "Yun'er."

He called out, but as expected, there was no answer.

And so we sat there for a long time.

I got up and walked in one direction, and before I knew it, I had arrived at the foot of the main peak.

I'm hesitant. I don't know if they'll let me in, or if I should go.

"Follow your heart?" Just as he was thinking, Lin Ling's voice came from behind him.

"Master," Sui Xin called out as she turned around, "Master, have you come to see Yun'er?"

"Yeah, I went to your place earlier and didn't see you. Turns out you're here," Lin Miao replied, then touched Sui Xin's hair with a touch of heartache. "You've suffered a lot too."

Lin Miao treated Sui Xin and Xi Yun as her own children, and seeing them suffer now naturally broke her heart.

Sui Xin shook her head slightly, "I'm fine, it's just that I feel a little sad that I can't be with Yun'er."

"By the way, I'll have to trouble you to take good care of Yun'er in the future," Sui Xin said, bowing again.

Lin Ling was taken aback. "Yun'er is going to the Heavenly Monarch Sword Sect tomorrow. Don't you know?"

"Huh? When did this happen?" Sui Xin asked quickly.

Although I can't have direct contact with Xi Yun while she's in the sect, it's still okay for me to keep an eye on her, as long as she doesn't find out.

But if she goes somewhere else, she'll completely lose all hope, wouldn't she go crazy?

"It's like this..." Lin Ling briefly explained the sect's decision and her own thoughts.

“No, I want to go too. I’m worried about her going alone,” Sui Xin said. “I’ll talk to the elder later.”

Lin Ling shook her head, somewhat amused. She transmitted her voice into the main peak and said, "I knew you couldn't resist. Let's go, let's go take a look together."

Before long, the barrier around the main peak was opened, and the two went up. Just as they were about to enter the main hall, Zheng Qiao blocked Sui Xin's way, saying, "Sui Xin, Xi Yun is inside, you know that."

“I understand,” Sui Xin sighed and continued, “Senior Zheng, I also want to go to the Sword Sect.”

"What? You're going too?" Zheng Qiao asked back, pulling Sui Xin aside.

“I’m a little worried about letting Yun’er go alone. Don’t worry, I won’t contact her. I’ll just keep an eye on her from the shadows,” Sui Xin said.

"No, you should stay in the sect and cultivate properly," Zheng Qiao refused outright. He was afraid that something might happen to Sui Xin, or that she might be poached by the Sword Sect. As for Xi Yun, that was purely a last resort.

"Oh, please let me go," Sui Xin pleaded. "Without Yun'er by my side, I have no motivation to cultivate."

“No, I said no, and that’s final,” Zheng Qiao said, and then left. There was no way to stop him.

Sui Xin remained in place, feeling somewhat helpless, but the thought of going to the Sword Sect had not faded.

On the other side, Lin Ling saw Xi Yun sitting on the stool, looking somewhat numb. "Yun'er, do you still remember me?"

Xi Yun turned her head and looked at it. It seemed somewhat familiar, but she couldn't remember it. She replied, "I have a vague impression of it, but I can't recall it."

"It's alright," Lin Miao walked over and patted Xi Yun's head. "I'm your master, Lin Miao."

Xi Yun didn't dodge. She could sense that the woman in front of her meant her no harm, and it seemed that the two of them used to have a good relationship.

"Master?" she murmured softly, then said, "Could you tell me about the past?"

"no problem"

“Why don’t we let him go?” Tianheng said to Zheng Qiao, who had just entered, in a secret room.

“That kid is a treasure too. Now that Xiyun is in trouble, we can’t let him lose him too,” Zheng Qiao said.

He valued Suixin and Xiyun highly, especially after learning that they might possess Dao principles hidden in their eyes. Because of this, he couldn't let them go; if someone with ill intentions saw them, they'd be finished.

"Haha, this is interesting," Tian Lao laughed, "They just happened to be paired up."

"I have a feeling he'll go eventually."

“He dares? I’d rather seal off the entire mountain than let him go,” Zheng Qiao shouted.

Tian Lao waved his hand, "Xiao Qiao, you're still the same as ever. It's been so long, you haven't changed at all."

The two hadn't seen each other for at least a hundred years, and at most they could only communicate through telepathy. Thanks to Xi Yun, they finally had a chance to come out and see each other, but unexpectedly they ended up separating a pair of lovers.

"Haha, your temper is still the same. If it weren't for Xiao Jing keeping an eye on you, you'd be running wild," Tian Lao joked.

Zheng Qiao blushed, "Ahem, how did we get involved with her?"

He and Liang Jing were cultivators of the same generation, and were known as the Xuan Yu Twin Masters. As they spent more time together, they eventually, unsurprisingly, ended up together, though few people knew about their relationship.

The two of them usually look like an old man and a young woman, so it's hard to connect them.

"Haha, if something happens to Xiao Jing, you won't be much better off than Ye Suixin," Tian Lao said.

"Let him go, even if it's just to broaden his horizons. Besides, it seems like our two sects haven't had this kind of exchange and learning in a long time. Sending a few more disciples along would be safer."

Upon hearing Tian Lao's words, Zheng Qiao's eyes lit up. He had been discussing with Jian Jun last night whether or not to organize an exchange activity. Thinking of this, Zheng Qiao's original determination softened slightly.

“Fine, let’s go with what Old Man Tian says,” Zheng Qiao said. “Let those few he’s close friends go together. They’re all quite strong. Let Lin Miao lead the team and keep an eye on them.”
