Now that the medicine was used up and most of the wounds had not yet healed, Gu Liyan had no choice but to go out and gather some more herbs. After making up her mind, Gu Liyan headed out of the cave.

Peering out from between the vines, Gu Liyan looked around and sniffed the air. "I remember the medicinal herbs Yiyi used to heal my wounds were all gathered in this forest. I should be able to use some of them..."

Its purple eyes gleamed as it headed in one direction.

Gu Yixian returned to the wooden house, changed out of her blood-stained clothes, took a hot bath, and regained her usual energy. She then began preparations, packing medicinal herbs into bamboo baskets, as well as some food and personal clothing.

"Now that Xiao Li's life is uncertain and I am pregnant, if the Gu family has any ideas, they might try to take back the key to the head of the family. Although I have fooled them by pretending to be crazy and they haven't noticed yet, it would be best to find a place to hide first!" Gu Yixian thought solemnly as she held the key.

After making all the preparations, Gu Yixian headed straight for the depths of the forest—

The place Gu Yixian was going to was the cave where she first met Gu Liyan. Only there could it be called Gu Liyan's home, and only there could it be considered the safest place!

As night fell, Gu Yixian arrived at the cave entrance, only to find it now concealed by vines, making it even more hidden than before. A look of delight immediately appeared on her face.

"It's like heaven is helping me. I don't have to worry about being found by the Gu family here."

Gu Yixian went straight inside, and didn't forget to rearrange the vines.

Stepping into the cave, it was still a bit cold and damp, just like when Gu Liyan first met him.

Gu Yixian immediately tensed up. Suddenly, she heard a sound coming from the cave entrance. Instinctively, she hid behind a rock, covering her mouth and not daring to breathe.

With herbs dangling from his mouth, Gu Liyan staggered, blood seeping from the bandages on his body, his eyes filled with exhaustion, before collapsing onto the blankets.

Hiding behind the rock, Gu Yixian stared in astonishment at the white fox lying on the ground. She almost cried out when she saw the white fox. Could it be Xiao Li, whom she had been waiting for so long?!

"Xiao Li? How could this be..." Gu Yixian looked at the white fox with some surprise. She decided to observe it for a while before deciding whether to step in.

After resting on the floor for a while, Gu Liyan sat up and shook his body, causing the bandages to fall off.

Hiding behind the rock, Gu Yixian covered her mouth, staring in astonishment at the white fox before her. Its body was covered with countless wounds, some already healed, others still oozing blood...

"Ugh..." Gu Liyan frowned, his white fur soaked with sweat, as if he had been pulled out of the water.

Gu Yixian covered her mouth to stop herself from crying out loud. Such injuries would be incredibly painful, even for a human, let alone a little white fox!

She watched as Gu Liyan applied the herbs to the wound. The moment he touched it, his whole body trembled, and he whimpered in pain...

Seeing this, Gu Yixian couldn't help but scoff: "That stupid fox! This is an internal anti-inflammatory herbal medicine, how could she use it as a topical plaster? She's so incredibly stupid!"

Thump—

Before Gu Yixian could even step forward, Gu Liyan had already collapsed to the ground, trembling all over.

"What, what's going on?" Gu Yixian immediately became worried.

"Ugh..." Gu Liyan didn't know why, but his wound suddenly started to hurt terribly, as if it were being burned by flames. In the end, all that remained in his mind was pain!

Gu Yixian removed the herbs and saw Gu Liyan's wounds more clearly, causing her to shudder.

Seeing Gu Yixian's bewildered expression, Gu Liyan instinctively shrank back, unable to look at her. He silently prayed that she would never find out he was Gu Liyan!

Just as Gu Liyan was worrying, a pair of gentle hands suddenly stroked the uninjured parts of his fox fur...

"Were you injured by lightning because of the last weather anomaly?" Gu Yixian asked gently.

Gu Liyan was taken aback and turned to look at her: She didn't notice?!

Gu Yixian looked at Gu Liyan, meeting his gaze in those purple eyes—

"Don't be afraid, I will heal you," Gu Yixian said confidently.

Gu Liyan lowered his head and rubbed against Gu Yixian's hand, then obediently lay down, waiting for Gu Yixian to come to his rescue.

Gu Yixian glanced at Gu Liyan and secretly wiped away the tears from the corner of her eyes.

After looking at Gu Liyan's wound with a solemn expression, he picked up a herb and stuffed it into his mouth to chew...

Gu Liyan immediately raised his head and looked at Gu Yixian with a surprised expression. Why did she chew with her own mouth?
