Nine Lives, Nine Worlds of Tribulation

Memories are like ever-blooming stone flowers, yet only the self believes them to be eternal. Ultimately, what they bring is the ruthlessness of reincarnation; perhaps no one will wait this time.

Chapter 201 Hello World

The eagle, ten feet long, soared through the air, making a rustling sound as it cut through the wind. Its shadow blocked out the sunlight, turning into a dark mass below it as it swept across the land.

Gu Liyan looked up at the trajectory of its flight and let out a long sigh of relief: "Thank goodness it didn't come here, otherwise it would have been really difficult if it had been discovered..."

It wasn't that Gu Liyan chickened out, but rather that he was in a new world, and the things here were far beyond his imagination.

The land is covered with magical herbs and ancient trees, and you can often encounter enormous monsters. Even a rabbit the size of a palm is as tall as a person!

Given Gu Liyan's current state, she doesn't dare to be too flamboyant in showing off her abilities.

Moreover, even land creatures (like Gu Liyan) are born with a fear of celestial beings, let alone unknown creatures that are many times larger than themselves!

Now, we can only take it one step at a time.

Just as Gu Liyan was about to leave, he suddenly heard a mocking voice, "Ha, I didn't expect that a dignified ninth-tier nine-tailed fox would be afraid of even a first-tier sky eagle beast. The fox clan is really getting worse with each generation!"

Gu Liyan looked around but couldn't find anyone. He scratched his head and wondered, "Could it be that I'm hallucinating because I just came to this world?"

Gu Liyan frowned, his face grave: It must be an illusion!

He turned to leave, and just as he took a step, a huge ancient tree suddenly let out a human-like scream: "Aaaaah—you little fox, you actually stepped on my roots!"

Gu Liyan subconsciously took a step back, and the vine he had just stepped on suddenly moved and then burrowed into the ground. All of this was caused by that ancient tree!

Upon seeing this, Gu Liyan's mouth dropped open, and he pointed at the ancient tree, trembling as he exclaimed, "The tree... the tree moved?! It... it even spoke!"

"Hmph, making a fuss over nothing. Aren't you a monster yourself? What's there to be surprised about!"

Upon hearing the ancient voice from the old tree, Gu Liyan was immediately stunned. "Yes, yes! But apart from my Xiaotao, I've never seen a tree spirit that can talk and move."

"How ignorant! All the tree spirits within a hundred miles have a trace of spiritual energy, but only my three-thousand-year-old tree has the most spiritual energy, so naturally I can speak!" the tree spirit snorted.

"Oh, is that so! Hello, senior. My name is Gu Liyan, you can call me Xiao Li." Gu Liyan bowed respectfully.

The tree demon was startled when Gu Liyan suddenly bowed to him. "No way! Do all ninth-tier fox demons have no self-respect like you? You actually bow to a lowly tree demon like me!"

Gu Liyan scratched his head and looked at the tree demon. "My father said that anyone older than oneself should be treated with respect. Am I being improper in my manners?"

The tree spirit blushed, purely out of shyness!

Shaking the tree trunk, he couldn't help but chuckle excitedly, "Hehe, respect, of course we must respect you! But I never expected that a demon of your cultivation level would have absolutely no arrogance. That's truly rare!"

Gu Liyan scratched his head, a little embarrassed, his fox ears popping out: "Actually, actually my cultivation is very weak."

"Pah! You're telling me you're weak, you old monster with a nine-thousand-year form! Can you stop insulting me?!" The tree demon pouted and waved its trunk angrily.

However, no matter how you look at it, it just looks arrogant, making people unable to help but laugh.

Gu Liyan chuckled, "Senior is mistaken. My total cultivation time is only a thousand years, not even nine thousand years old yet!"

"Alright, alright, no matter how old you are, even if you have a human form and your demonic aura is well concealed, I still advise you to leave here as soon as possible!" The tree demon shook its branches and urged.

Gu Liyan asked in confusion, "Why is this happening?" He had only just arrived in this world, and now he's being forced to leave? How could that be?! Besides, he can't go back even if he wanted to!

"Are you really stupid or just pretending? This is a rift between the outer realms, and the place you're standing right now is the battlefield between the two factions of the human race! What are you doing here? Waiting to be wiped out by the humans during the war? Or are you going to be tied up and taken back as a slave?!" The tree demon said with a sneer.

"If the two factions of the human race are fighting, then let's fight them. How could they possibly have time to care about a demon race like mine?" Gu Liyan asked with a puzzled look.

"Huh? Brother, are you really stupid or just pretending? You're not some alien monster, are you? Only alien monsters would be so stupid as to not know to hide from those cultivators!" The mountain god complained vehemently.

Well--

Gu Liyan visibly choked, seemingly realizing that to the humans and demons of this world, he really was an alien demon!

"Ah, it's strange, you seem to have suddenly appeared within my perception range—" The tree spirit stared at Gu Liyan with suspicion. "Fox, you could it be..."

Gu Liyan immediately broke out in a cold sweat. What a passive position he would be if he were exposed!

"You're not some tree fox I gave birth to, are you?!"

"..."

Gu Liyan was speechless. Sure enough, this senior's imagination was much richer than others!

"Hahahaha... Tree Fox! Hahaha, this is hilarious!" Mo Chen in the consciousness space suddenly clutched his stomach and burst into laughter.

Gu Liyan remained calm, severing the connection to the consciousness space, and spoke to it earnestly, "Actually, I was undergoing tribulation, and then I was accidentally struck by lightning and ended up here!"

[In the consciousness space, Mo Chen burst into laughter again, pounding the ground: Hahaha, you got here from being struck by lightning? You'd be a fool to believe that!]

A certain tree spirit suddenly realized, "Oh! No wonder!"

[Mo Chen: Holy crap! What the hell... He actually believed that?!]

(Gu Liyan: Please block that idiot, thank you!)
