Under the cold sky and with torrential rain pouring down, Gu Liyan could already see the demon clan base not far away. Without stopping, he ran towards the cave, shouting, "Father, Uncle-Master, you must wait for me to come back!"

After giving his instructions, Gu Li rushed to Gu Yan's room and saw him still sipping tea. He said anxiously, "Gu Yan! What time is it? You're still in the mood to drink tea here! The weather outside has suddenly become abnormal for some reason. Heavy rain and strong winds have all poured in. If the rain doesn't stop, we're afraid we'll all drown here!"

Gu Yan put down his teacup and said with a wry smile, "Heh, is that so? Well, it really is like when it rains, it pours. In that case... what are you still worried about?"

"What?" Gu Li looked at Gu Yan with a surprised expression and asked, "Did that little fox really betray our demon race?"

"Otherwise, why do you think we'd encounter this situation as soon as he left?" Gu Yan's gaze turned cold, his face filled with murderous intent. "It seems we really can't underestimate our own kind! I should have been more vigilant. Unfortunately, there's no way to undo anything now."

"Gu Yan, are we really going to lose this time?" Gu Li looked down at the water seeping in at his feet, and said with a look of resentment, "Is there really no way out here?"

“Although this is a good place to hide, but…” Gu Yan said with a wry smile, “I’m afraid we really can’t find another way out.”

Gu Li sighed deeply, "The reason we've been so wary of the demons coming is because we were afraid they would cut off our retreat and trap us here. But despite all our precautions, we still couldn't stop our own people in the end."

"One of our own? Ha, I've never considered him one of our own!" Gu Yan said, squinting.

"Open up a way out? It's useless. I just confirmed that the other side of that confinement room... is actually the demons' hideout!"

"Go find him! He must have a way!" Gu Yan stood up and said with certainty, "Mo Bai can bring good fortune, he wouldn't abandon the demon race!"

In his search for Gu Liyan, Mo Bai ventured out alone, only to encounter the Nine Nether Heavenly Emperor instead of Gu Liyan. He stood amidst the wind and rain as if he had been waiting there on purpose.

"Nine Nether Heavenly Emperor!" Seeing the Nine Nether Heavenly Emperor standing in front of him, Mo Bai's face darkened, and he frowned as he asked, "Why are you here?"

"Hehe, of course I knew you would come out to find Gu Liyan, so I've been waiting for you here for a long time!" The Nine Nether Heavenly Emperor said with a smile.

"You know that's not what I'm asking! I'm asking you, how did you get out of the Nine Netherworld?" Mo Bai looked at the Nine Netherworld Emperor warily. "Didn't you say that one cannot enter the mortal world from the Nine Netherworld? Why are you here?"

The Nine Netherworld Emperor chuckled, "That only applies to the dead souls. I personally can come out whenever I want. It's just that I can't reveal myself until I confirm whether that person knows the truth. Now that everything is more or less clear, I have nothing to fear!"

"That person?" Mo Bai frowned, thought for a moment, and then his expression changed drastically. "Could it be that the person you're wary of is Gu Liyan?!"

Beneath the mask of the Nine Netherworld Emperor lay an incredibly ferocious expression, filled with desire. "You guessed right! If I kill you, then my threat will be reduced by half!"

Mo Bai sneered, "Hmph, what a joke! You know who I am. Do you know what killing me means?"

"Of course I know you are the divine beast that represents peace in this world, Lord Bai Ze! If you are safe and sound, it is a foregone conclusion that the demon race will be suppressed by the monster race. But unfortunately, I cannot make a deal with you, so I can only make a deal with the demon race."

The Nine Netherworld Emperor squinted and smiled as he spoke, "So, you can now regard me as a member of the Demon Clan."

"You bastard! You promised you wouldn't interfere in the conflict between the demon race and the monster race, but now you've gone back on your word!" Mo Bai said angrily. "I never expected that you would end up siding with the monster race."

"Hmph, it's no use saying anything now. I'm here to take your life! If you obediently surrender, I'll give you a proper burial!"

Mo Bai felt as if the air around him had frozen, staring intently at the Nine Nether Heavenly Emperor, "Do you really want to kill me...?"
