Gu Liyan followed the scent to find Liu Changxian, and finally found her in a dilapidated old warehouse far from the guest rooms.

Seeing Liu Changxian intently staring at the data book in her hand through the window, Gu Liyan watched silently without interrupting her.

After an unknown amount of time, Liu Changxian put down the data book in her hand, looked up and met Gu Liyan's gaze from outside the window, and was slightly taken aback.

When Gu Liyan saw that Liu Changxian had noticed him, he raised his hand and waved to greet her, "Xian'er!"

Liu Changxian frowned and said irritably, "Who let you run away? And didn't I tell you not to call me Xian'er!"

Gu Liyan scratched his head. "Sorry, I got a little excited and forgot."

Gu Liyan was about to come in when Liu Changxian hurriedly shouted, "Stand there! Don't come in!"

Gu Liyan immediately stopped in her tracks, looking at Liu Changxian with a pitiful expression. "Um... I'm not dressed warmly enough, and it's quite cold outside..."

"Get cold!" Liu Changxian said irritably.

Gu Liyan scratched his head awkwardly, standing there shivering.

Upon hearing this, Gu Liyan happily walked in. She discovered that the warehouse was a research lab, filled with many chemical reagent bottles, but even more numerous were the papers covered in data scattered on the floor…

"Just stand there and don't move, wait for me to finish decocting your medicine!" Liu Changxian said, pointing to an open space by the door. Then she picked up another book of data and started looking at it.

Gu Liyan nodded obediently and stood aside, not daring to disturb her.

Liu Changxian frowned as he looked at the data in the notebook, thinking, "Why are this guy's antibody levels so high? Even without treatment, the poison should clear up on its own, right? No, I can't let him recover so easily. I have to keep him here as a test subject! That way, my antidote can be perfect!"

Gu Liyan looked at the medicine that had already been prescribed and hurriedly said, "Xian'er, Xian'er, medicine! Medicine!"

Liu Changxian snapped out of her daze and realized, "Oh no!"

Gu Liyan's expression changed, and he hurriedly said, "No, it's not that I'm ungrateful, I'm just afraid you'll suffer too much for me. You can rest assured and treat me with confidence, I'm not that easy to die!"

Liu Changxian rolled her eyes and thought to herself, "He's not easy to die from! Since you say that, then don't blame me for using you as a guinea pig!"

Liu Changxian turned to look at Gu Liyan and said, "Alright, since you say so, then I'll treat you with confidence!"

Looking at Liu Changxian, Gu Liyan felt a chill run down his spine for no apparent reason, as if he had been tricked.

Lying on the operating table, Gu Liyan felt uneasy all over, especially when Liu Changxian walked towards him with the medicine, he sensed danger.

However, looking at Liu Changxian's face, Gu Liyan lowered his guard again. "As long as she wants to do it, I don't care what she makes me do!"

Looking at Gu Liyan's pale face, Liu Changxian pursed her lips and asked, "Are you sure you want me to treat you?"

Gu Liyan smiled and said, "Yes! I believe you!"

Liu Changxian's hand trembled slightly, but he quickly composed himself and injected the medicine into Gu Liyan's body without hesitation.

Seeing Liu Changxian's solemn expression, Gu Liyan smiled. Just as she was about to withdraw her hand, Gu Liyan suddenly grabbed Liu Changxian's hand.

Liu Changxian was startled. "What are you doing!"

"You..." Gu Liyan asked softly, "You won't let me die, right?"

Liu Changxian trembled with fright, hesitated for a moment, then nodded and said, "Of course! I... I was saving you..."

Gu Liyan smiled and said, "After I recover, can you grant me a request?"

Liu Changxian swallowed nervously. "What kind of patient makes demands of a doctor?"

Gu Liyan held Liu Changxian's hand tightly, looking at him with deep affection, "Please..."
