Chapter 202 The Unfrozen Sea (2/2)

"Chirp!" (Yes!)

The octopus stood beside Gu Xi, also looking ahead.

Then the man and the fish stared at each other for a few seconds.

"So, you're still standing here! Go cook! I still need to go to the island."

She hadn't encountered an island in a long time, and now not only was there one, but it was also in the direction of the treasure trove. What else could this be but treasure! So she absolutely couldn't let it slip by.

Octopus glanced nervously at Gu Xi, then bounced backward and scurried off to the kitchen to make breakfast.

Previously, when we went to the island, the boats could approach it directly. But this time the situation is different; not only can the boats not approach the islands, they can't even enter the waters ahead.

Now she has to rely on herself for everything.

Gu Xi looked at the distant island; from the boat, she could only make out its vague outline. At least visually, the island didn't seem very close.

After having breakfast, Gu Xi gave some instructions to the fish and then prepared to head to the island.

Since she couldn't determine how far the journey ahead was, she wanted to conserve her mental energy. So, she stood on the octopus's head and let it carry her to the edge of the Eternal Warm Sea Dew.

After saying goodbye to the octopus, she tried to explore the island's area with her mental power, but unfortunately failed.

Even when the future is uncertain, she has to take a gamble.

Gu Xi felt much more at ease knowing that her backpack was filled with a whole compartment of mental energy recovery potions. Using object manipulation, she stepped on the spikes and flew rapidly towards the island.

Of course, she wasn't doing nothing in the sky; she flew around while observing her surroundings.

She had flown some distance now, but what she saw in the Yongwen Sea Dew area was truly silent, with nothing at all.

This is a place where no fish are produced and not even birds will visit.

She's been flying for over half an hour now, why haven't we arrived yet?

Gu Xi could feel the distance to the island decreasing, but wasn't it too far? Luckily, she currently possessed B-level mental strength; otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to withstand such a long flight.

She longed to turn back and see how far she was from the shore.

Just as Gu Xi was lost in thought, an ice-blue bird flew past her with two "caws".

She wouldn't have paid attention to an ordinary bird. But why did this bird catch her eye? It was because she saw a mocking expression in the bird's beady eyes.

Its speed is pretty good, basically the same as hers.

However, that's not the main point. The main point is that the bird actually circled around her once, then flew past her again, cawing twice.

She could clearly sense the escalating mockery from the "caw caws."

If the first time it cawed, its taunt level was 4, then the second time it's 6. Incidentally, she defined the maximum level as 10. So, is this bird trying to draw aggro?!

Gu Xi glared at it twice, then calmly looked away.

Forget it, she's an adult, she shouldn't stoop to the level of a silly bird. Since the silly bird didn't attack her, it must have just been passing by, so she'll be magnanimous and let it go.

However, some birds just don't appreciate kindness.

Seeing that the bird in front of it had no wings and ignored it, the silly big bird continued to circle around and repeat its previous cawing mocking actions.

But mockery that doesn't invite ridicule isn't real mockery. As long as Gu Xi ignores it, this silly bird is just air.

She needs to get to the island quickly; she doesn't have time to deal with that silly bird. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
