"Plop! Found it, number three!" Ais's voice reached Gu Xi and Yan Lin's minds.
Gu Xi's heart skipped a beat; there really was more than one!
"Ais, take some heavy objects out of your stomach and put them on these glowing stone slabs to test them," Gu Xi instructed, wanting to see if the slabs were sensitive to weight.
"Plop." Aisi did as instructed, taking out several huge pieces of material from her stomach and placing them on the number three stone slab.
The moment the heavy object touched the stone slab, the faint light on the slab intensified at a speed visible to the naked eye.
Even more amazingly, the light not only intensified on the third stone slab, but also on the eighth slab that Gu Xi was standing on.
"It seems these stone slabs are not only sensitive to weight, but also to each other," Gu Xi said thoughtfully.
Next, she found a giant stone in the trading area and carefully placed it on the number eight stone slab at her feet.
The moment the boulder touched the stone slab, Gu Xi slowly released her foot, pursing her lips and paying close attention to the changes.
Lift it by one centimeter, and the light remains unchanged; lift it by ten centimeters, and the light still shines.
Seeing this, Gu Xi finally felt relieved and removed his foot from the glowing stone slab.
"I can move now!" Gu Xi exclaimed in surprise, then gestured for Yan Lin to continue searching.
Upon hearing Ais's discovery, Flamescale's eyes lit up. It dragged its light chain across the stone slab. The scraping sound of the light chain rubbing against the stone slab showed that it was putting all its strength into it.
As it moved forward, the friction between the light chain and the stone slab became more intense, and the sound became more and more high-pitched.
Just as Flamescale was immersed in excitement, its steps came to an abrupt halt.
Its eyes widened instantly, and a startled cry escaped its lips, drawing Gu Xi's attention.
"Boss Fish! I found it! Whoosh! It's five! Five!" Flame Scale shouted excitedly with his mental power, then carefully circled the stone slab several times.
"Well done!" Gu Xi nodded approvingly and gave it an encouraging look in the darkness.
It seems her guess was correct; a series of numbered stone slabs are hidden in this space, and these slabs are likely the key to solving the mystery.
"Pfft! That's great!" Flame Scale cheered.
"I'll put the stones on, and then we'll all search together to find the rest of the stone slabs!" Gu Xi said excitedly. Now she was even more convinced that these stone slabs were the key to solving the mystery.
Ais and Flamescale joined the search, and the three of them carefully searched every inch of the ground under the illumination of the light chain and the shark pearl.
Soon, Gu Xi led the fish to find stone slabs engraved with the characters "one", "two", "four", "six", "seven", and "nine".
“There are nine in total!” Gu Xi stared intently at the last stone slab.
"Just drop this piece in and we'll know the result!"
Gu Xi gestured for Ai Si to place the heavy object on the last stone slab. As the last heavy object fell, all nine stone slabs simultaneously emitted a dazzling light, illuminating the entire space as bright as day.
These lights intertwined to form a huge light array. In the center of the light array, a complex pattern slowly emerged, like an ancient rune or a star map.
The light emanating from the nine stone slabs grew ever brighter, the rays intertwining and merging until they finally converged into a thick pillar of light that shot straight into the sky.
Within the beam of light, countless tiny points of light twinkled like stars, rotating and leaping to form ever-changing patterns.
The entire space was enveloped in this dazzling light, as if one were in a dreamlike world.
Gu Xi, Ai Si, and Yan Lin were all stunned by the magnificent sight. They held their breath, silently watching the changing light, anticipating what would happen next. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
