"Quickly, take me to see it! I can't wait!" Merchant A urged, his voice trembling slightly.
"You've had a long journey, you should go back to your ship and rest first. I'll take you on a tour later."
Luhmann spoke slowly and gently.
Merchant A wanted to say something more, but then he saw an octopus waving its huge tentacles and slapping the ground. The dull sound seemed to hit his chest, and he swallowed the words that were on the tip of his tongue and obediently returned to his boat.
Inside Merchant A's cabin, it was warm and comfortable, a stark contrast to the raging storm outside. Although he hadn't seen the Future, he had at least reached his destination, and his heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally began to relax a little.
Merchant A sat alone in the room, not daring to look out at the sea. He felt that if he caught a glimpse of it, the Bone Clan would emerge from the water and kill him.
Just as Merchant A was feeling uneasy, a soft knock came at the door.
He got up and opened the door, puzzled, only to see a thick tentacle reach in, its end holding a delicate teacup. Merchant A instantly recalled the scene of the octopus slapping the ground earlier, and his throat tightened, rendering him speechless.
Seeing that he was stunned, the octopus slammed the teacup down on the small table by the door. It pointed to the teacup with its tentacles, then to Merchant A, indicating that it was prepared for him.
The octopus was puzzled. It had only meant well by offering tea, so why did this person seem so afraid? It couldn't understand what it had done to frighten the merchant.
Seeing the terrified expression on Merchant A's face, the octopus sighed helplessly, then rubbed its round face with its other tentacles. Afterward, it gently closed the door and left.
After leaving Merchant A's cabin, the octopus immediately ran to Gu Xi. It circled around Gu Xi, making constant "chirping" sounds.
"Chirp chirp chirp!" (I'm so cute, why is that person afraid of me?)
"Chirp chirp chirp!" (I just wanted to bring him some tea!)
"Chirp chirp!" (He looked like he was about to cry!)
The octopus said aggrievedly, its tentacles waving incessantly in the air.
Gu Xi looked at the sulking octopus and smiled helplessly. She reached out and gently patted the octopus's head, comforting it, "Don't be sad, you're very cute and capable."
The octopus calmed down a little after hearing Gu Xi's words. It rubbed its tentacles against Gu Xi's hand and made a soft "chirp" sound.
Gu Xi continued to reassure the octopus, "Alright, don't think too much. We still have a lot of preparations to do. Go help Keima and Ariel; they might need your help."
Upon hearing this, the octopus immediately perked up and chirped twice before happily departing.
Gu Xi watched its departing figure and gently shook her head.
Merchant A picked up his teacup, took a small sip, and a faint fragrance filled his mouth.
"This tea is of excellent quality!"
The tea greatly reduced his regret at not being able to see Gu Xi and his fear of the Bone Sea.
Time passed slowly, but the wind and rain outside continued.
Merchant A couldn't sit still any longer. He got up, walked to the window, and looked outside.
The sea remained turbulent, and perhaps some unknown danger lurked beneath those waves. A strange excitement welled up within him, but it was mixed with a trace of fear, after all, this sea had once been ravaged by the Bone Clan. He couldn't help but wonder if those Bone Clan members would reappear in this storm.
In the distance, the silhouettes of several boats could be vaguely seen approaching.
"It seems that other merchants have arrived one after another."
Merchant A muttered to himself, a strange excitement welling up inside him. (This chapter has been read. Please click to continue reading the next chapter!)
