When his superior retired, Li Lin, as his secretary, was implicated and demoted to an indefinite secondment as deputy township head in a remote rural town.
With no backing, Li Lin's polit...
Li Lin got out of the car and frowned when he saw the Longjian headquarters building was surrounded by striking workers.
From afar, we could see many workers riding electric bikes rushing to join the strike.
But looking at the cheerful and cheerful attitude of these people, it seems that they do not take the strike seriously. Instead, they act as relaxed as if they were attending a party in front of Longjian’s headquarters.
When the stranger Li Lin suddenly appeared at the door of Longjian, the workers all looked sideways at Li Lin.
There was a smirk, doubt, and disdain in that look... According to the requirements of the employer Yao Qinghua, no one could step into the gate of Longjian without his permission.
Soon, a large group of workers stood in front of Li Lin.
"Who are you? You can't get in here, get out!"
Those workers who usually acted honestly and hardworking, now relied on their large numbers to show their hateful faces of bullying others.
Normally in the factory, they are a group of timid and pitiful people who dare not speak loudly even when they are bullied.
Unexpectedly, when these people took the dominant position, they looked even more hateful than those evil guys!
Li Lin did not intend to preach to them, but ignored them, raised his head and looked straight towards the floor where Liu Haidong was.
Although the distance was far, he could clearly feel Liu Haidong's eyes full of expectation and desire.
It was at this time that Li Lin received a text message from Sun Huaide.
It said, "Governor Zhao has issued an order, and the Public Security Department is organizing personnel to rush to Longjian..." In an instant, Li Lin breathed a sigh of relief.
Suddenly, a riot broke out among the crowd.
All I heard was a few female workers shouting at the top of their voices, "Go back! No one is allowed to come out!"
"No matter who you are, you are not allowed to step out of Longjian until the problem is solved!"
“Go back, go back!”
Li Lin looked in the direction of the voice and saw Liu Yuan standing at the door of Long Jian, at a loss, protected by several bodyguards.
She scanned the crowd in panic, as if trying to find someone among them.
When her eyes met Li Lin's, Liu Yuan raised her arms and cried out excitedly, "Li Lin... I'm here... Li Lin... Can you see me?"
Li Lin also waved at her and responded, "Yuanyuan, stand still! Things will take a turn for the better soon, you must protect your own safety!"
He was afraid that Liu Yuan would rush into the crowd to find him in excitement. Once she was drowned in the crowd, no one would care whether she was Miss Long Jian or not. The consequences would be unpredictable!
Liu Haidong also saw Liu Yuan upstairs. He was suddenly startled and a look of worry immediately appeared on his face.
He banged on the French window frantically and shouted frantically to the people downstairs, "Yuanyuan! Yuanyuan, come back soon! It's dangerous downstairs! Yuanyuan..."
His voice was almost hoarse, and every shout was filled with endless anxiety and fear.
His heart seemed to be tightly grasped by an invisible hand, and it hurt so much that he couldn't breathe.
He knew very well that his daughter was in danger and he was powerless to do anything. This helplessness and despair almost made him lose his mind.
He looked at the chaotic crowd downstairs, in which his daughter's weak and helpless figure seemed so small and fragile.
He imagined the terrible things the workers might do to her, and his anger erupted like a volcano.
"My daughter, my baby!" Liu Haidong's eyes were bloodshot and tears were welling up in his sockets.
"You bastards, if you dare to touch my daughter, I will never forgive you!"
His voice echoed in the empty office but could not reach downstairs.
He kept pounding on the window until his hands were swollen, but he seemed to feel no pain.
"Why? Why did this happen?" He questioned the heavens and the injustice of fate. He blamed himself and hated himself for not protecting his daughter and putting her in such a dangerous situation.
"I, Liu Haidong, have worked hard for half my life, but can't I even protect my own daughter?" His heart was filled with pain and anger, a complex emotion that was a mixture of powerlessness towards the current situation and deep guilt towards his daughter.
He turned around frantically and glared at the workers who were looking at him smugly, his eyes full of hatred and murderous intent.
"You are a bunch of crazy people. I, Liu Haidong, will not let you go even if I risk my life!"
His voice was like the roar of a wild beast, shaking the whole room.
Yao Qinghua and a group of workers looked at the nearly crazy and pitiful Liu Haidong, not only did they not feel the slightest bit of guilt, but instead had a look of smugness and mockery on their faces.
"Mr. Liu, please stop shouting! Your precious daughter won't be able to hear you no matter how loud you shout! How about this, I'll send two workers downstairs to escort Miss Liu up so that you and your daughter can be reunited?" There was an evil charm in Yao Qinghua's eyes, and a malicious arc at the corner of his mouth.
When the workers heard Yao Qinghua teasing Liu Haidong, they couldn't help but laugh out loud.
That laughter, like a sharp knife, ruthlessly pierced into Liu Haidong's heart.
He suddenly turned around and glared at everyone, his eyes were so fierce that they seemed to be able to spit fire. "Shut up, all of you!" His voice exploded like thunder.
Everyone was frightened by Liu Haidong's scarlet eyes and violent aura, and their laughter stopped abruptly. For a moment, the whole room fell into deathly silence.
Liu Haidong pointed at everyone angrily and said, "All of you get out of here! If my daughter gets hurt in the slightest, I'll kill all of you! Get out of here!"
As he spoke, Liu Haidong pushed through the crowd like a mad lion, rushed out of the office regardless of anything and ran downstairs.
