Li Lin took Xu Wen to Pingyang's famous snack street, had some local snacks, and then sent her back to Dongsheng Hotel.

"Are you going back to the county to work in the afternoon?" Xu Wen asked curiously. After all, the county is more than half an hour away from the city.

Li Lin felt bad for having to run back and forth to pick her up.

Li Lin said to her, "No, I was transferred to the State-owned Assets Restructuring Office by the city government. I work in the city hotel, which is not far from Dongsheng."

"Oh, so that's how it is." Xu Wen felt a little relieved.

She thought again, isn't the State-owned Assets Restructuring Office responsible for attracting investment for the cotton mill?

Xu Wen stayed in the Dongsheng Hotel for the whole afternoon without going downstairs. She was bored and flipping through her phone, occasionally sending messages to Li Lin.

“Are you still busy?”

"I want to ask you a more private question."

"Do you have a girlfriend now?"

You can’t ask this kind of question face to face. Only through the screen can you ask it boldly.

Li Lin was busy in the office and had no time to look at his mobile phone, so he didn't see the many messages Xu Wen sent him in time.

"Hey, are you still busy?"

"Why don't you reply to my message?"

"Are you shy? Or do you already have a girlfriend and are too embarrassed to tell me?"

When Li Lin saw the messages, it was already past five in the afternoon, close to getting off work.

He took the time to pour himself a cup of tea, picked up his phone and found many unread messages, most of which were from Xu Wen.

When he opened his phone and saw the message from Xu Wen, he choked on the water...

He read it twice and finally replied, "Do you want to know? I'll tell you in person when I take you to dinner later."

Xu Wen heard the phone ding and opened it expectantly. When she found it was a message from Li Lin, she excitedly clicked on it...

Do you want to tell me in person? Looking at the message from Li Lin, she giggled at the screen and looked forward to Li Lin's arrival even more.

Finally, at almost seven o'clock, someone knocked on her door.

She reflexively turned over from the bed and opened the door without even asking who it was.

"Sorry, I was late because of something urgent at work."

As soon as they met, Li Lin said apologetically.

Xu Wen shook her head like a rattle and said with a smile, "It's not too late. I'm very happy as long as you can come. Let's go. Where are you going to take me?"

"Let's go eat first, and then take a night tour of Pingyang Park." Li Lin said with a smile.

When she heard about night tour, Xu Wen already thought of that romantic atmosphere. She looked up at Li Lin, her eyes flashing with anticipation from time to time.

The dinner was very sumptuous, with roadside stalls, fried skewers, grilled skewers, and spicy hot pot, and the two of them also drank some beer.

As they clinked glasses, Xu Wen recalled the question she had asked Li Lin in the afternoon, so she asked impatiently, "You said you would tell me the answer when we meet. Can you tell me now?"

Li Lin picked up the beer cup and took a big sip, then smiled and asked her, "What about you, do you have a boyfriend?"

"I asked you first, so you answer me first." Xu Wen said with a pout.

"Okay, I can tell you responsibly that I am single now," said Li Lin.

"Really?" Xu Wen seemed very happy to hear this answer, and immediately asked curiously, "Then tell me, why is someone as outstanding as you still single? Is it because of your career, or something else?"

"Excellent? I don't think I'm that good." Li Lin smiled calmly, "Now it's your turn to answer the question."

Xu Wen smiled shyly and said, "I'm single too, just like you."

Li Lin smiled and asked her, "Then can you tell me, why is such an outstanding girl like you still single?"

Xu Wen felt as sweet as if she had eaten honey. She laughed and said, "I'm not outstanding either. I'm just average..."

The topic came to an abrupt end. The two smiled in tacit understanding and drank a glass of beer together... Li Lin stood up to pay the bill, hailed a taxi, and took Xu Wen to Pingyang Park.

It was still early and the street lights in the park were still on. There were crowds of people, young and old, men and women, and everyone had a relaxed smile on their face.

Li Lin dragged Xu Wen along the artificial lake in the park for a leisurely walk. Because they were standing side by side very close to each other, their hands accidentally touched several times, and they quickly jumped away as if they were electrocuted.

The atmosphere was a bit awkward and dull. Li Lin wanted to find a topic to break the silence, and Xu Wen also pursed her lips and thought about what to talk about actively.

Suddenly, they both asked each other almost at the same time.

"Do you usually come here for a walk?" Xu Wen asked.

"Are you busy with your work?" Li Lin asked.

The two looked at each other and smiled.

Xu Wen smiled and replied, "I am very relaxed at school and have a lot of free time. I like photojournalism and the university atmosphere, so I feel comfortable working."
