By accident, Qiao Wanwan got entangled with a powerful man who had come back to life from death and was disabled.
Qiao Wanwan: "Can't you see I'm a cripple?"
The powerfu...
"Huh?" Ruan Wanyi exclaimed in disbelief, "Really?"
“I was studying at Dijing Middle School back then. Every time we had PE class, I would see a person in a wheelchair, wearing a hat, sunglasses and a mask, looking at us through the glass wall,” Qiao Wanwan recalled. “At that time, the girls in our class were talking about him, saying that he was very mysterious, like an assassin in a movie.”
"Is that so?" Ruan Wanyi exclaimed in surprise. "That means you two are destined to be together!"
“What kind of fate is this? It’s just a coincidence at most.” Qiao Wanwan smiled. “At that time, he didn’t know me and I didn’t know him. And Mom, let me tell you a secret, I was a little scared when I saw him back then because I felt that his aura was very scary.”
"That was the most difficult time for Jing Ting. He was gloomy and most people didn't dare to get close to him."
"How long did he stay at Imperial University?" Qiao Wanwan asked.
"She stopped going after a short time, and her temper got even worse. She would even kick me out when I went to deliver food. I was so worried that I couldn't sleep at night."
Qiao Wanwan's nose tingled with emotion. "Mom, thank you for everything."
“We are all mothers, and we know that we are willing to give anything for our children, so what is so hard about this?”
"Um."
"What are you talking about?" Zhan Jingting's voice suddenly came.
Qiao Wanwan turned her head and saw him striding over. She smiled brightly at him and said, "We're talking about your childhood."
Zhan Jingting frowned and looked at Ruan Wanyi with displeasure, "Don't talk nonsense with Wanwan."
"I'm not talking nonsense." Ruan Wanyi hurriedly grabbed Qiao Wanwan's hand to help her.
Qiao Wanwan readily agreed, "Mom didn't say anything to you. We were talking about going to school during the National Day holiday."
Zhan Jingting sat down next to her. "You agreed to go to school on November 11th?"
“Well, he’s a returned overseas student, so he’s already been to school,” Qiao Wanwan said. “I’ll help him find a kindergarten first, and then I’ll send him there when the new semester starts.”
"good."
Ruan Wanyi suddenly remembered something, "Wanwan, I just heard Aunt Zheng say that we're planning to move to the school dormitory soon?"
"Yes, she got into Imperial University early on. It's a bit far from here, and she's been sick all these years and hasn't been able to attend school properly. Living on campus would allow her to make the most of her last years at university and spend time with her classmates, so I didn't object when she said she wanted to live on campus."
"Zaozao is a good child, very caring, and I like her very much."
“She comes back to stay on weekends, and my mother sees her every week.”
"That's good, the young girl should learn to be independent."
Zhan Jingting never cared about these things, nor did he ever inquire about them.
Whether there's one more or one less person in the family doesn't make much difference to him, let alone someone like Cheng Zaozao who has a low profile.
When school started, Qiao Wanwan and Xiang Yang took Cheng Zaozao to school.
Imperial Capital University has excellent facilities, not to mention its dormitories.
Qiao Wanwan was wearing a mask, but she was still recognized.
"Are you Qiao Wanwan?"
Qiao Wanwan had no choice but to take off her mask and greet everyone, "Hello."
"It really is Qiao Wanwan! You're so beautiful! Even more beautiful than in the movies!"
"Thanks."
Can I take a picture with you?
"sure."
After taking photos with several female classmates, Qiao Wanwan said, "I am Cheng Zaozao's older sister. I hope you can get along well and become good friends in the future."
"You're actually Cheng Zaozao's older sister?"
Several female classmates looked at Cheng Zaozao and asked, "Then why don't you and your sister have the same surname?"
Cheng Zaozao looked embarrassed and unconsciously lowered her head.
Qiao Wanwan smiled at her reaction and said, "Because one of us took our father's surname and the other took our mother's surname."
"I see."
Qiao Wanwan picked up a bag from the table. "I'll treat you to some cake."
"Wow, the cakes at this bakery are so delicious! You have to wait in a really long line to buy them!"
"Thank you, Sister Wanwan, and thank you, Zaozao."
"You are welcome."
After settling Cheng Zaozao in, Qiao Wanwan specially took her out for a sumptuous lunch.
"Good morning, this is a toast to you, sister." Qiao Wanwan raised her juice glass. "To celebrate your official entry into university."
"Thank you, sister."
"I'll join you too," Xiang Yang said with a smile. "Wishing you success in your studies and happiness every day."
"Thank you, Brother Xiang Yang."
The three clinked glasses, and Qiao Wanwan, while serving food to Cheng Zaozao, said, "Zaozao, your classmate just asked why we don't have the same surname. Why are you feeling inferior?"
Cheng Zaozao was startled, but quickly lowered her head again.
"Tell your sister what you're thinking."
"I...I..." Cheng Zaozao said softly, "Sister, you are a big star, shining brightly, while I...my mother doesn't want me, and although my father is dead, the fact that he went to jail can't be erased..."
“So you’re insecure,” Qiao Wanwan said. “I’ve told you before, you can’t change your background. So can I. I don’t even know who my biological parents are. Maybe they abandoned me on purpose, or maybe they are criminals in prison.”
Cheng Zaozao looked up at her and said, "Sister, no way. You're so beautiful and have such a great presence. Your parents must be very rich and elegant people."
"I have never imagined what kind of people they would be, because I cannot decide that. The only thing I can decide is what kind of person I will be."
