On our wedding night, just as we were about to consummate the marriage, my wife Lin Wanrou received a call from her white moonlight, Chen Kai, saying that he had gotten a divorce.
She pushed ...
"What does Lin Wanrou's death have to do with me?"
"Back then, she betrayed me; she abandoned me."
"She broke up with me for Chen Kai."
"Now, she has ended up like this, and it's all her own fault."
Qin Yang's voice grew colder and colder.
"You...you..."
Lin's mother was so angry that she trembled all over.
"Fine, Qin Yang, how could you be so heartless!"
Lin's father pointed at Qin Yang's nose and cursed angrily.
"Let me tell you, we're here today to settle accounts with you!"
"You must take responsibility for my daughter's death!"
"Take responsibility? Why should I be responsible?"
Qin Yang said coldly.
"Lin Wanrou is an adult, and she has her own choices."
"She chose this path, so she should bear the consequences."
"You've come to me just to extort money, haven't you?"
Qin Yang saw right through their thoughts.
The Lin family's expressions changed.
"You...you're talking nonsense!"
Lin's mother said somewhat guiltily.
"We're not in it for the money!"
"We just want justice for our daughter!"
"Fairness? What is fairness?"
Qin Yang sneered.
"Is the justice you're talking about just making me responsible for Lin Wanrou's death?"
"Haven't you ever thought about why Lin Wanrou chose this path?"
"Isn't it all because of your greed and your vanity!"
Qin Yang ruthlessly exposed their true colors.
"If you hadn't forced Lin Wanrou to marry Chen Kai, how could she have ended up like this?"
"If you hadn't made such a mess of the Lin Group, why would Lin Wanrou be under so much pressure?"
"Now that Lin Wanrou is dead, you are putting all the blame on me."
Don't you find this ridiculous?
Qin Yang's voice was firm and resolute.
The Lin family was rendered speechless by Qin Yang's words.
Their faces turned pale and then flushed.
"I tell you, I, Qin Yang, have a clear conscience."
Qin Yang said coldly.
"Lin Wanrou's death has nothing to do with me."
"If you want to cause trouble, then keep causing trouble."
"I'll see this through to the end."
After saying that, Qin Yang turned and left.
"Qin Yang! You stop right there!"
Lin Hai wanted to chase after them.
"Enough!"
"Lin Hai, aren't you ashamed enough?"
"Let's go home!"
Lin's father scolded him, tears streaming down his face.
"Dad...I...I..."
"Walk!"
In the end, with Lin's father pulling him back, Lin Hai finally gave up chasing after them and could only leave the place with his parents in resentment.
The Lin family villa is located in a quiet area on the outskirts of the city. Its exterior is magnificent, but its interior exudes a lingering chill.
The tall iron gate slowly opened, and Lin's father's car drove in, stopping in front of the villa's main building along the cobblestone driveway.
Lin's father got out of the car first, his face so gloomy it looked like it could drip water.
Lin's mother followed closely behind, still clutching the handkerchief she used to wipe her tears, but the handkerchief had long since dried up and no more tears could be squeezed out.
Lin Hai was the last to get off the bus, his face filled with resentment and indignation.
He slammed the car door shut with a loud "bang," which sounded particularly jarring in the quiet night.
The three entered the villa, where a black coffin stood out starkly in the center of the living room.
That was Lin Wanrou's coffin.
The cold coffin, radiating a chill, seemed completely out of place in this luxurious villa.
However, the three of them walked straight past as if they hadn't seen it, without even glancing at the coffin out of the corner of their eyes.
Lin Hai could no longer contain his anger and spoke:
"Dad! Why did you pull me just now?"
"Are we just going to let that kid Qin Yang get away like this? What about our money?"
His voice was filled with anxiety and resentment.
For him, Lin Wanrou's death was nothing more than a bargaining chip that he could use.
Lin's father stopped and slowly turned around to look at his good-for-nothing son.
There was no sadness, no anger in his eyes, only calculation.
"What do you know?"
Lin's father's voice was low and hoarse, as if it were squeezed out from the depths of his throat.
"What good will this fuss do?"
"That kid Qin Yang has gotten too big for his britches now and doesn't take us seriously at all."
“If we want to get money from him, we have to find another way.”
Lin Hai was taken aback and asked, somewhat puzzled:
"Another way? What way?"
A sinister smile curled at the corner of Lin's father's mouth.
"We're going to make a big scene!"
"The bigger the commotion, the better!"
"It would be best to make this public so that everyone knows that Qin Yang is an ungrateful wretch!"
He paused, then continued:
"With the internet so readily available now, let's post this online."
"I refuse to believe that Qin Yang can remain so defiant under immense public pressure!"
"At that point, for the sake of his reputation and his career, he'll definitely obediently return the money!"
Lin Hai's eyes lit up immediately upon hearing this.
He slapped his thigh and said excitedly:
"Dad, you're so smart!"
"Why didn't I think of that?"
"I'll go write it right now! I'll write it so movingly that everyone will sympathize with us and condemn Qin Yang!"
He rubbed his hands together, eager to try, as if he could already see Qin Yang kneeling and begging for mercy.
