Shangguan Wu raised an eyebrow, looking at him with a half-smile: "Quite the survival instinct!"

Gu Yunzhen smiled helplessly: "Please spare me, Madam."

That sounds like she's telling her to stop messing with him.

Shangguan Wu, suddenly in a dramatic mood, sat on a high stool and beckoned to him with her index finger: "Come in!"

Gu Yunzhen stared at her intently for a moment, then walked along the counter to the left entrance and went inside.

Before he came in, Shangguan Wu quickly took off his shoes and socks.

She watched him walk towards her with a smile, and said coquettishly, "Mr. Gu, did you come to my pharmacy today just to sleep with me?"

Gu Yunzhen froze, her steps abruptly halting as if a pause button had been pressed.

Shangguan Wu's smile deepened. She raised one leg and stretched it out towards him, tilting her chin up as she said, "How can you be so oblivious? My feet are a little cold. Come and warm them for me."

Gu Yunzhen looked down at her fair feet. Her five toes were small and cute, and her toenails were neatly trimmed, with a healthy pink hue. They were swaying now, exuding an alluring temptation.

She really needs to be taught a lesson!

He suddenly stepped forward and grabbed her foot, but the icy touch brought him back to his senses.

"Okay, stop playing and put your shoes on."

Shangguan Wu was completely bewildered.

"Have you had enough touching? Are you sober now?"

Shangguan Wu blinked twice, then withdrew her hand with some regret, saying, "Although I didn't get enough of touching, I'm now awake."

Gu Yunzhen's temples throbbed twice.

"Stop joking around, go back to your room and sleep."

Gu Yunzhen stretched out his long arm, put his arm around her waist, and lifted her off the bar stool.

As Shangguan Wu spoke, he quickened his pace.

She finished in about five minutes.

The two walked out of the pharmacy hand in hand, and Shangguan Wu asked curiously, "What did Third Cousin want to talk to you about?"

Gu Yunzhen lowered his eyes, his thin lips pressed into a straight line.

Shangguan Wu felt the coldness emanating from him. She pressed her body against his arm and said in a light tone, "You don't have to say if it's inconvenient!"

Gu Yunzhen's eyebrows twitched slightly.

"It's not that I can't say it, it's just that I haven't figured out how to say it yet."

Shangguan Wu looked at him in surprise.

After a moment, Gu Yunzhen suddenly spoke up: "I've asked Qin San to investigate the matter of me being drugged at the Zijing Pavilion."

Shangguan Wu paused, but Gu Yunzhen pulled her forward, and before she could fall, he caught her.

She instinctively hugged his waist.

"Who drugged you?"

A chilling glint flashed in Gu Yunzhen's dark eyes as she uttered a name: "Xiao Jingming."

Shangguan Wu gasped: "So he knew you were in Changteng City all along, and was secretly targeting you?"

Gu Yunzhen patted her back reassuringly and said in a low voice, "It's okay, it's all over now."

The investigation has been going on for so long because Xiao Jingming deliberately gave the wrong clues, focusing his attention on those people abroad.

But those people only knew that he had returned to China, not which city he was in.

Therefore, the investigation returned to its starting point.

Gu Yunzhen started investigating Qin San from the beginning, and that's how she discovered that the mastermind behind it all was Xiao Jingming.

"Neither of the Xiao brothers is any good!"

Shangguan Wu was furious and gritted her teeth: "Husband, I will avenge you! When my perfume is launched, I will make Xiao Jingming experience the feeling of going from heaven to hell!"

Gu Yunzhen felt a surge of emotion.

He sensed her anger, her protectiveness, and her love in her words.

Shangguan Wu was so tightly held by him that she could hardly breathe, but she didn't make a sound or move, letting him hold her tightly.

She especially loved it when he showed his affection for her.

But Gu Yunzhen noticed something was off about her breathing and suddenly let go of her.

"Feel sorry."

He took a deep breath, lifted her chin with one hand, and leaned down to kiss her lips, giving her a breath.

Shangguan Wu: "..."

It's not that serious.

She just has trouble breathing.

After giving her a breath, Gu Yunzhen continued to kiss her soft lips, lingering and caressing them.
