Chapter 604 A Name That Belongs Only to Her

“A regular customer saw that I was single and tried to introduce me to someone, even though I had already explicitly refused.”

Rongrong frowned and pointed to her head: "But that person has a bit of delusions. He thinks no one will dislike him and only listens to what he wants to hear. He hit Xiaomei, and I hit him back, so I called the police."

He hired thugs to vandalize the store in an attempt to destroy the surveillance footage, but I had backed it up before going to the police station, so he can't deny it.

Ji Mingjing scoffed mockingly: "You need someone to introduce you to someone, where does your confidence come from?"

Rongrong thought for a moment and said, "Maybe it's too ordinary."

After all, there are always some people who are so ordinary, yet so confident.

Ji Mingjing stared intently at her.

Rongrong looked up at him as if sensing something, and her gaze met his deep eyes, causing her to freeze in shock.

The next second, Ji Mingjing spoke coolly: "If you're saying he's not smart, why are you pointing at your own head?"

Rongrong felt a lump in her throat.

She abruptly changed the subject: "Eat more, don't waste it."

Ji Mingjing raised an eyebrow: "It's just the two of us eating, and you've made so much, yet you're telling me not to waste it?"

Rongrong was taken aback by his words and asked sullenly, "Then, you won't eat it?"

"Isn't that even more wasteful?"

Ji Mingjing picked up her chopsticks again and started eating.

Rongrong: "..."

She increasingly felt a sense of returning to the past, where he spoke in a way that could choke someone to death.

Next, the Ji family head took pity on him and didn't say another word, otherwise he wouldn't have needed to eat dinner, as he was already full of anger.

After the meal, Rongrong cleared the dishes and went into the kitchen to wash them.

Ji Mingjing sat in the dining room like an old man, a faint smile playing on his lips. After a moment, he tried to suppress the smile, regaining his indifferent expression, and got up to walk towards the kitchen.

Leaning against the kitchen doorway, watching someone staring blankly at the dishwasher, he clicked his tongue.

Rongrong suddenly came to her senses.

She steadied herself before turning around and asking, "Would you like something to drink?"

Ji Mingjing casually replied, "Red wine."

Rongrong was taken aback, then nodded: "Wait a moment, I'll go to the cellar to get it now."

She washed the dishes, walked to the door, and paused for a moment.

She can't get out unless she turns to the side.

Rongrong looked up at the man who was stuck to the door.

Their eyes met.

Ji Mingjing touched his nose.

"Let's go together." He said this and walked towards the door first.

Rongrong followed behind him, seemingly lost in thought.

Ji Mingjing didn't give her much time to think and asked, "Once Hua Rong Ju is renovated, we'll go back to the Imperial City, right?"

Rongrong hummed in agreement.

Hua Rong Ju has accumulated many flower lovers, and the earlier it opens, the more customers it can avoid losing.

But I will come back. Before she could say this, Ji Mingjing said—

"Okay, you can stay at home for the time being. Just tell the housekeeper if you need anything."

It was as if they were treating her as a temporary guest.

Rongrong swallowed the words that were on the tip of her tongue and instead said two words: "Thank you."

Ji Mingjing, who was walking in front, smirked silently.

Suddenly, he stopped.

Rongrong bumped into him without warning, and Ji Mingjing stumbled forward. Luckily, there was a bench nearby, so he sat down on it.

Rongrong looked at him anxiously: "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine." Ji Mingjing looked at her, with an expression that said, 'I wasn't being stubborn.'

He added, "Go get the wine, I'll sit here and look at the stars for a while."

Rongrong looked up at the night sky, which was dotted with stars and looked quite beautiful, but he didn't seem like the kind of person who had the leisure to appreciate the stars!

Rongrong: Are you really alright?

Ji Mingjing: "You're quite long-winded."

Rongrong turned and left.

He watched her walk away before turning his gaze away, then took out his phone and called Ji Kong.

The call connected, and Ji Mingjing spouted nonsense: "Take Old You to Chen Jingshui's house. He's hurt his back and can't move. If it's serious, take him to the hospital."

Ji Kong, without any suspicion, immediately replied, "Alright, I'll go find Elder You right now!"

After hanging up the phone, Ji Mingjing raised his right foot and kicked the chair, causing him to gasp in pain.

He took off his shoes, and seeing a red patch on his right foot, he figured it was serious. He bent down to put his shoes back on, but before he could even look up, a shadow suddenly loomed over him.

Ji Mingjing stared at the two feet that came into view, and his body stiffened for a moment.

Rongrong came back not far away.

Because his expression seemed off, she was worried and came back to check on him.

Sure enough, I saw him rubbing his feet!

The thought that she had bumped into him and caused his injury filled Rongrong with self-reproach, and she squatted down.

Just as she was about to speak.

Ji Mingjing was the first to ask, "Where's the red wine?"

Rongrong pursed her lips: "I didn't go to the cellar."

"Never mind then, I won't drink today. You can go back now, I'll continue looking at the stars for a while."

Ji Mingjing pretended to be nonchalant, resting his hands on the back of the chair and looking up at the night sky.

His serious expression made it seem as if he were really looking at the stars.

But Rongrong could tell he was pretending to be fine. She was worried and felt guilty, so she refused to leave.

She said anxiously, "I'll call Ji Kong and ask him to invite Elder You over."

Ji Mingjing said calmly, "No need."

But Rongrong insisted, "If you don't tell me where you're injured, you have to see a doctor!"

"Why are you in such a hurry? I didn't say I wouldn't tell you."

Ji Mingjing clicked his tongue lightly, then nodded and pressed his temples: "But they've gone out to see patients, so calling them won't help."

A look of surprise flashed across Rongrong's eyes: "Go out for a medical checkup? Isn't Elder You in charge of your injury?"
