Her ex-husband cheated, the mistress forced her hand, and all her deep love was met with betrayal. Thoroughly betrayed and divorced, Su Yan completely shut herself off, vowing to torment all the sc...
Duan Sisi frowned, staring intently at the sign of the mansion coffee shop in front of her.
Su Yan had already walked quite a few steps when she realized that she hadn't followed. She turned around and saw that she was still standing there motionless.
"Why aren't you leaving? What are you doing standing there?"
"Why are you here again? Is the coffee here so appealing to you? It tastes even better than mine?"
Duan Sisi looked completely puzzled.
Su Yan was amused by her adorable jealous expression.
She walked back, put her arm around Duan Sisi's shoulder, and headed into the coffee shop.
"Whose coffee can taste better than the one brewed by our Miss Sisi herself? It's just that the person who took the wrong suitcase met here. I was too lazy to come here, so I invited you instead."
Duan Sisi, who had been pushed into the coffee shop, turned around excitedly when she heard that the person who had taken the wrong suitcase had taken it.
"Did he call you?"
Su Yan glanced subconsciously at the corner private room, then randomly found a seat by the window and sat down.
"Yes, I had it done a couple of days ago."
"Male or female?"
"A man."
Upon hearing that it was a man, Duan Sisi became incredibly excited, her eyes practically sparkling.
"Is he handsome? Interested in considering it?"
Su Yan ordered two coffees according to her taste, completely ignoring her question, and casually replied, "You know my situation, yet you still make such a joke."
Upon hearing this, Duan Sisi's smile gradually faded, and she became somewhat uneasy.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to reopen your wounds."
Su Yan smiled indifferently.
Is it a scar? Perhaps it was before.
She can still recall the crazy way He Ziming roared, "You're not a normal woman!"
Now, even if I think about it, it doesn't stir any emotions at all.
To ease the tension, Su Yan took the initiative to joke: "If you're handsome, you might consider it. Your aunt and uncle would be very happy."
"I dare not even consider it now."
Duan Sisi suppressed a laugh and proudly raised her right hand.
"Because I am now a married woman."
Su Yan almost spat out her coffee. She grabbed Duan Sisi's hand, squinted, and tried to make out the diamond on the ring.
"Where is it hiding? I can't see it."
Duan Sisi pushed her hand away impatiently, pointed to the pea-sized diamond on the ring, and loudly reminded her, "Here! What kind of eyesight do you have!"
Before Su Yan could examine it carefully, she covered it up like a precious treasure, adding a curse as she went: "Get your illness treated already!"
Su Yan didn't argue with her about these things, and leaned lazily against the booth, looking at her with a questioning expression.
"When did this happen? How come I don't know anything about it?"
Duan Sisi waved her hand guiltily, "It hasn't been long, and we didn't plan to have a wedding. We just had a simple meal with both sets of parents, so I haven't had a chance to tell you yet."
Just as Su Yan was about to ask something else, her phone suddenly rang.
She tapped on her phone, and a text message lay quietly on the screen.
Ms. Su, I regret to inform you that you did not pass our company's interview. Thank you, and best wishes.
The text message was official and polite, its words cold and devoid of any warmth.
Seeing that she was staring at her phone, Duan Sisi asked with concern, "Sister, is there a problem at work?"
Hearing her question, Su Yan suddenly smiled.
"There's no problem."
She turned off her phone and looked at Duan Sisi with a relaxed expression. "There's a big problem."
Just as Duan Sisi was about to breathe a sigh of relief, she heard her next sentence.
"Then how can you still laugh?"
Su Yan suddenly leaned forward and asked mysteriously, "Tell me, if he doesn't take the bait, is there something wrong with him, or is there something wrong with my work ability?"
Duan Sisi became a little nervous after being teased like that.
"Could it be that he's just a good man?"
Her words were immediately rejected by Su Yan.
"impossible!"
"Why?"
Before Duan Sisi could finish her question, Su Yan's phone rang again.
Duan Sisi couldn't help but complain, "Sister, you're really busy with work."
Su Yan answered the phone with a smile, "Hello."
A familiar male voice came from the other end of the phone.
"Miss Su Yan? I'm the one who called yesterday. I'm already at the coffee shop entrance. I wonder if you've arrived yet?"
His words remained extremely polite.
"Then come in, I'm already here."
As Su Yan answered, she turned her head to look towards the door.
Accompanied by the crisp sound of the wind chimes on the coffee shop door, a man strode in.
He looked around and his gaze met Su Yan's.
Yi An smiled and waved.
Su Yan frowned. "How could it be him?"
The moment she finished speaking, she understood. His failure to take the bait wasn't due to anything wrong with him, nor was it because she lacked ability.
Instead, he wanted to turn the tables and take the initiative to better control her.
What a challenging scumbag.
Yi An smiled as she looked at Su Yan sitting in front of her. A quick glance from her met Duan Sisi's gossipy eyes.
"Your friend?" he asked Su Yan, pointing at Duan Sisi.
Su Yan didn't answer. She glanced at the suitcase beside Yi An and slowly said, "Why is it President Yi?"
Do you believe in fate?
Seeing him laughing heartily, Su Yan rejected the idea without even thinking.
"I don't believe it. All destiny is deliberate."
