After playing an online game all night, he suddenly died and transmigrated into the game, becoming a famous villain.
At the very beginning, he confessed to the high-ranking duke's daughte...
Many people watched the reactions of the nobles with doubt in their hearts and then went outside.
But what they saw before them made their eyes widen in disbelief.
They simply couldn't accept it.
One huge carriage after another was filled with countless corpses.
Those bodies were almost crammed into the carriage, the stench of blood and decay sealed inside.
Several soldiers, expressionless, stepped forward and opened one carriage after another.
The bodies that had been forcibly stuffed inside fell onto the grass the moment the carriage door was opened.
The stench of blood and decay quickly filled the vast courtyard, rising high into the air.
The stench of decay, along with the falling corpses, wafted towards the crowd.
A giant, sticky, and foul-smelling tongue, like that of a ferocious beast, licked at everyone's bodies.
The sight before them made the nausea of countless nobles churn.
They covered their mouths and quickly turned their heads away, but they couldn't stop trembling all over.
Why were so many corpses suddenly brought in?
Their bodies looked as if they had been specially preserved, with no signs of decay.
It's like the vengeful spirits within each corpse were forcibly sealed onto lifeless flesh and blood.
Piles of corpses kept falling into the courtyard.
The nobles stared at the corpses strewn across the ground, their faces ashen.
At this moment, Aurelion also came out with the twelve ministers.
She felt extremely disgusted when she saw countless corpses piled up like mountains.
The twelve ministers of the empire also squinted their eyes, rubbed their foreheads, and suppressed their nausea.
Finally, August walked out slowly, his face composed.
He glanced at Aurelion, who was clearly disgusted, and said with a smile:
"I'm sorry, Your Highness, I may have startled you."
"But rest assured, this matter will not affect you."
What's the meaning?
The atmosphere was silent and tense.
Although the meaning of August's words was not entirely clear, the nobles present still angrily rushed towards him and questioned him loudly:
"August! What are you doing?!"
"You've ruined a perfectly good diplomatic banquet!"
These words were like a fuse that ignited a fire, and anger quickly spread throughout the room.
Their dissatisfaction and anger towards August erupted like a volcano.
August listened to their accusations and witnessed their anger, yet his expression remained calm.
"Don't get so excited, everyone."
"Why don't you open your eyes wider and see if any of these people seem familiar?"
The nobles stared at the corpses, and suddenly, many of them were too shocked to speak.
Most of these corpses were guards who died in the previous siege by the demi-humans, and civilians who were unfortunately caught up in the chaos.
That day, the royal city fell.
Countless lives perished under the iron hooves of the demi-humans.
Originally, these bodies should have been cremated with respect, and their ashes mixed into the soil of the kingdom.
But now, they've been brought here.
Why is this happening?
Could it be...?
"Because I need these corpses."
August's smile stretched almost to his ears as he chuckled.
"Do you know what a blood sacrifice requires? That's right, warriors who died unnatural deaths."
"These bodies that died in glorious battle are the perfect sacrifices for blood offerings."
The moment the words fell, the nobles present seemed to suddenly understand something.
The chaos in the royal city was caused by the invasion of the demi-humans.
But why would those organized and disciplined demi-humans choose such a perfect time, when the defenses were weak, to invade the royal city?
Why was it that, coincidentally, the king had no guards around him?
It's all too much of a coincidence.
Countless nobles stared wide-eyed.
They finally understood, they understood how all of this had happened, and they understood who was behind it all.
But now, they could only watch helplessly as the nearly deranged king, his eyes gleaming with fanaticism, laughed wildly.
He opened his arms and announced to the crowd:
"Please witness all of this."
"The blood sacrifice is about to begin."
Crimson light pierced through the thick clouds and gently embraced the bright full moon.
The moon seemed to be submerged in a sea of blood, its pure white color stained crimson, like scarlet pupils.
Blood-red light fell from the sky like rain, casting a halo over the desolate land.
Above the vast courtyard, a crimson and obscure formation was displayed.
The intricate patterns, like dried-up rivers, encircled the corpses that lay there silently.
The scarlet formation seemed to have a life of its own, with bright red lines dancing in the light like slowly flowing blood.
The formation stretched out like tentacles toward the corpses, and strange runes crawled onto the bodies like ants, tattooing the earth beneath them.
The courtyard shimmered under the reflection of the crimson light, casting a blood-red halo over everyone present.
The nobles stared nervously at the bizarre scene before them, and began to hurl insults at August:
"August, you beast!"
"You did it on purpose! You deliberately let those demi-humans into the royal city and destroy it!"
"Those innocent soldiers and civilians all died at the hands of your king!!!"
August looked at the angry nobles and gave a calm smile:
"Yes, I did it on purpose."
The nobles present were all stunned by August's calm tone.
