Ye Wan had just graduated from culinary school and was eagerly preparing to open her own small restaurant. However, before her business license even arrived, she stumbled into a peculiar magical wo...
Chapter 24 Going to the Underground Hotel, This is a Scam!
Things were developing in an uncontrollable direction, and Ye Wan began to talk nonsense with his eyes closed.
"What do you bathe with?"
"towel."
"What do you use to wet the towel?"
"rain."
Giant octopus: "..."
Its eyes seemed to be filled with great anger, but it couldn't vent its anger. It just stared at Ye Wan with a bad face: "If you were thirsty, what would you drink?"
"Juice."
"Can't just keep drinking juice?"
"So what? I just like to drink juice. If I don't drink juice, I drink tea."
Finally, the giant octopus could no longer endure it and spread its sucker-covered tentacles across the beach, saying, "Die, cunning humans!"
"Why? I didn't say that word!" Ye Wan shouted.
The moment the tentacles swept past, Youan protected Ye Wan's head with one hand, and the dagger in his hand brought out some silver light in the dim cave, and the tip of the sword easily cut through the octopus's tentacles.
The entire cave was filled with the octopus's wailing.
Youan protected Ye Wan behind the stone wall and continued to stab the octopus's tentacles with the sharp tip of the sword. The dying octopus frantically swung its remaining tentacles twice, and the tentacles it swung out fell on Ye Wan.
Then the octopus stopped moving.
You An wiped the sweat from his face and looked back at Ye Wan. She was holding a piece of octopus leg in her hands and was in a daze.
"Okay, the troll is dead, let's find a way." He thought she was scared and tried to divert her attention.
Unexpectedly, Ye Wan carefully stuffed the octopus legs into the small bag he had cast a space spell on: "This is perfect for roasting octopus legs and octopus balls."
Youan frowned and was about to speak when the octopus suddenly moved again and he stood up.
The octopus moved twice, and then its ink sac exploded unexpectedly, spraying turbid and sticky black liquid all over his head, which slid down his pale and tall nose and into his white shirt.
Ye Wan and Songbing, who were hiding at the back, were not spared either. There were also many black spots on her clothes, but it was better than Youan's.
Both of them looked very embarrassed.
Ye Wan hurriedly took out a small pack of wet wipes from her bag and gave him one.
The elegant Rapunzel boy looked embarrassed and irritable at the moment. He roughly wiped his face with a wet tissue, and then found in despair that there was no way to completely wipe off the thick ink.
Ye Wan and Songbing were quiet for a rare moment, fearing that the mysophobic Lettuce boy would use his sword to kill all the breathing creatures in the cave if he got unhappy.
Fortunately, he didn't say a word and just picked up the lighting stone again. There were metal claws and climbing ropes on the wall of the cave, which must have been left by the previous brave man.
The two climbed to the top of the cave, where there was an extremely narrow passage that could only accommodate one person. There was no light, and only the faint light from the lighting stone could vaguely show a path.
There was also the occasional sound of dripping water, echoing in the confined space, making one's hair stand on end.
The sticky feeling brought by the octopus ink on the clothes was also uncomfortable. Ye Wan missed the warm room and bathtub at home.
She sighed quietly.
Youan, who was exploring the way ahead, suddenly stopped.
"What's wrong? Is there another monster?" She was a little nervous.
The former stood stiffly, stretching his arms backwards and then retracting them, and suddenly he made a loud "tsk" sound.
"What's there to be afraid of?" He said this, and as if he had made up his mind, he suddenly grabbed her wrist with his cold fingers and continued to move forward.
Ye Wan suddenly realized that he was worried that he was scared.
Youan turned his head away from her, just held her hand and walked forward quickly.
Ye Wan said with a smile: "Are you shy?"
"Idiot." His fingertips became stiffer, white with excessive force.
Ye Wan said as he held her wrist, "It would be nice if there was a hot spring pool up ahead so I could take a bath and wash some clothes. It would also be nice if you could get me a gas stove so I can make some octopus balls. Have you ever had octopus balls? They're round, crispy, and drizzled with brown sauce and sprinkled with bonito flakes..."
She was talking excitedly when Youan suddenly stopped. Ye Wan failed to brake in time and bumped into his back.
She rubbed her nose and said, "What are you doing? Why are you stopping and not saying anything?"
The former's usually indifferent face was suddenly filled with surprise.
Ye Wan followed his gaze and saw a building at the end of the road. The main body of the building was a burnt dark black, like the skeleton of some giant beast. It was inlaid with all kinds of strange discarded gears, and the outer wall was covered with red and blue, crisscrossing pipes, all the way to the huge neon sign on the top.
The neon sign read "Blue Hotel" in large letters.
It didn't look like a proper hotel, but Ye Wan and You An were eager to wash their faces, and it would be even better if they could change their clothes.
"Maybe we can meet other brave warriors who can show us the exit of the dungeon." Ye Wan comforted himself.
Pushing open the heavy wooden door, the ceiling was a dim chandelier made of various intertwined brass pipes. If you listen carefully, you can hear bursts of muffled sounds coming from the pipes. The black tiles on the ground turned into a shiny red as Ye Wan and Youan walked.
There is no one, not a single person.
The hotel's bar is also made of black iron, emitting a dull light.
But there is no reception.
"Is anyone there?" Ye Wan asked.
After waiting for nearly two minutes, an ugly green chameleon jumped out of the kitchen in a panic.
It was wearing an extremely ill-fitting chef's uniform that almost reached the ground, and a greasy chef's hat on its head.
But this ugly chameleon seemed quite enthusiastic: "Would you like to stay at the hotel, please?"
"Yes... We need a room. Is there hot water?" Ye Wan took a look at its dirty clothes and hat and hesitated a little.
"Yes, yes!" The ugly chameleon enthusiastically checked them in, then stretched out its huge webbed feet with a room card stuck in the middle.
"Room 304."
Ye Wan took the room card, thought for a moment, and then asked, "Excuse me, are there any clean clothes for sale here? We can pay for them."
The chameleon's eyeballs rolled around in his bulging eyes, and then he hopped back to the kitchen and took out two brand new T-shirts: "Here."
"Thank you." Ye Wan took it without looking at it carefully. "How much is it in total?"
"Oh, that's okay," Chameleon said enthusiastically. "It's not much. Just pay when you leave!"
In order to eat delicious food in the underground city, Ye Wan brought a lot of money with him, so he took the room card without worry and followed You An to find room 304.
Fortunately, the hotel room was normal. The warm lights dispelled the coldness of the dungeon. The wooden floor was covered with a soft material similar to a wool carpet. The bedside was made of various discarded small gears woven into a gentle small light string, which looked like a dream catcher.
Ye Wan was watching with interest when You An grabbed the T-shirt and rushed into the bathroom. His face was covered in sticky octopus juice and he had reached the point where he could no longer endure it.
The sound of splashing water soon came out.
Ye Wan took out a comb and smoothed Songbing's hair. "Songbing, wait a minute. Youan will be out soon. I'll get some hot water to wipe your face."
Muffin nodded obediently: "Squeak!"
Ye Wan wandered around the small room with great interest and found a small robot doll in the bedside table. The robot was very cute, with a square head and a body made of silver-white metal. There was an antenna on the top of its head and it was doing a ballet pose.
"This is so cute." Ye Wan said.
The water in the bathroom stopped, but Youan didn't come out for a long time.
Ye Wan was a little worried and moved to the bathroom door: "Youan, Youan?"
She knocked on the door twice.
"Wait a minute." Youan's angry voice came from inside the door.
"Who provoked him again?" Ye Wan didn't understand.
The bathroom door suddenly opened with a bang, and Youan came out with a grim face.
Ye Wan took a look at his expression and said, "What's going on? There are cockroaches in there."
He was wearing a loose black T-shirt and turned slightly sideways towards Ye Wan. Ye Wan thought he was dissatisfied with the T-shirt, so she comforted him:
"I know people here like to wear those complicated white shirts, but T-shirts are formal clothing in our world. I don't know why they are found in the dungeon, but don't worry, we won't laugh at you."
She promised him seriously.
Youan's expression softened for a moment. After thinking for a moment, he turned around and asked, "Really?"
The front of the T-shirt had two rows of large earthy purple roses printed on it, with white Chinese characters in the middle: "How to Make Your Husband Spoil You Forever"
Ye Wan's face twisted violently.
The people of the Kingdom of Oceana do not use Chinese. They use a complex cursive script that is very similar to French as their official language. Ye Wan studied in France and has no problem with daily communication and reading and writing. Of course, she does not recognize some rare characters.
She guessed that Youan probably didn't know Chinese and that this T-shirt must have come from another world.
"It's really normal clothes." Her face gradually turned red, like a prawn grilled in a pan.
It's like a balloon that has expanded to its maximum and suddenly bursts.
“Hahahahahahahahahahaha.” Her tears burst out and she collapsed on the bed, clutching her stomach. “Who on earth is so talented? Hahahahahahahahahahaha.”
Under Euan's bewildered gaze, she finally stopped laughing and slinked off to the bathroom with the muffins.
She turned on the faucet, and the steaming hot water rushed down, covering up the roar of laughter that she burst into again.
Her T-shirt is printed with "Instead of blaming others, it is better to bury yourself". Although it looks strange, it is much better than "How to make your husband spoil you for a lifetime".
Ye Wan took a comfortable bath to wash off the ink on his body, then changed into a T-shirt and went downstairs with You An.
There was no elevator in this hotel, so they went down the stairs. There were many mirrors on the walls of the stairs, reflecting their shadows in their baggy T-shirts.
Ye Wan felt that they were like stupid comedians about to perform a skit on stage, but she couldn't tell this to You An, as he would tear her to pieces.
Ye Wan returned the room card to the Chameleon at the front desk and began to take out his wallet: "How much is it in total?"
"Five hundred silver coins." Chameleon said with a smile.
Ye Wan couldn't believe his ears: "How much?"
"Five hundred silver coins." The chameleon laughed even more happily.
Ye Wan's hand froze in mid-air as he was about to take out the money: "Are you running a scam?"
