Qiao Zhen was so flustered by what had just happened that her palms were sweaty.

Upon seeing this, Lu Zheng couldn't help but tease, "It's not like you've never been here before, why are you so nervous?"

Hearing this, Qiao Zhen couldn't help but glare at Lu Zheng: "You still have the nerve to laugh at me? If it weren't for you beating that thug half to death, would I be so nervous!"

Lu Zheng smiled and patted Qiao Zhen's head, comforting her, "No matter what, I would have called the police if those people had harassed you. It was just a matter of time. This time, it's a perfect solution, and we've solved it all at once."

"Yes." Lu Zheng replied with a stern face, "They harassed my girlfriend and even threatened her personal safety. I was just standing up for her."

Lu Zheng kept calling her his girlfriend, which made Qiao Zhen blush.

But the staff member scoffed dismissively, "You dare to harass your girlfriend? Do you have any proof?"

Upon hearing this, both Qiao Zhen and Lu Zheng looked at the staff member in unison, their expressions of shock beyond words.

"What do you mean?" Lu Zheng's face regained its usual hostility as he propped himself up on his arms and smelled the air.

"What kind of attitude is this? We're in the office, don't you have any respect at all?"

The staff member also lost his temper and started putting on airs.

Qiao Zhen was also taken aback by his words, but still adhered to the principle of not causing trouble for others, and sighed and said: "Comrade, if you don't believe me, you can check the surveillance. Our time is very precious, so please enforce the law seriously."

Upon hearing this, the staff member seemed to feel their authority challenged and began to lash out at Qiao Zhen: "Don't I know what to do? Do you need to tell me?"

Less than five minutes later, Director Wang rushed over, his head covered in sweat.

Lu Zheng shook his head: "You did nothing wrong, you don't need to apologize. What I need is his apology."

Upon hearing this, the staff member realized that this man was not someone to be trifled with, and immediately pleaded.

"I'm so sorry, Mr. Lu. I was blind and offended you before. I hope you won't be angry."

Hearing this, Qiao Zhen also tried to speak up: "Yes, let's leave it at that."

He was quite exhausted after all that going out for barbecue and all the trouble that followed.

Seeing that Qiao Zhen had relented, Lu Zheng nodded, but before leaving, he left Director Wang with a message: "Go back and thoroughly investigate this person's background."
