Chapter 69 Qiao Luosheng is expelled from school

Qiao Zhen immediately tensed up, "What happened?"

The homeroom teacher was silent for two seconds. "Qiao Luosheng colluded with some thugs from outside the school and injured the vice principal's son. He is currently being dealt with at the police station. This is a very serious matter, and the school is very likely to expel Qiao Luosheng."

In an instant, Qiao Zhen seemed frozen, a chill running rampant through her limbs and bones.

Being expelled from school on the eve of the college entrance examination means that all the efforts of so many years will be in vain!

"That's impossible!" she exclaimed, shivering. "You know Luo Sheng's character; he would never associate with thugs!"

The homeroom teacher, exasperated and exhausted, said, "Please come to the police station first. You'll understand after you've seen the evidence."

Qiao Zhen didn't bother to change her clothes. She just put on a light jacket over her pajamas and wore sandals before running out the door.

I hailed a taxi and rushed to the police station as quickly as possible.

Qiao Luosheng, with bruises on his face, stood against the wall. Next to him were seven or eight teenagers around twenty years old, with brightly colored hair, wearing floral shirts and ripped jeans. One of them had a fake gold necklace around his neck. They all looked like hooligans and didn't seem like respectable people.

A policeman stood guard in front of them, his face serious.

Teacher Fan, Qiao Luosheng's homeroom teacher, was bent over with her elbows on her thighs and her hands supporting her forehead. Her expression was hidden in the shadows, but she looked very disappointed and tired.

"Teacher Fan, Luo Sheng?" Qiao Zhen called out.

Teacher Fan raised her head, gritted her teeth, and pointed at Qiao Luosheng, saying, "Make Qiao Luosheng say it himself, and you'll hear what stupid things he's done!"

"Sister!" Qiao Luosheng perked up again when he saw Qiao Zhen. "I've been wronged! I don't know them at all!"

"Hey, what kind of brother are you?!" The man with the gold chain jumped up, his finger almost poking Qiao Luosheng's face. "When things are going well, you call us brothers! But when trouble comes, you want to kick us aside, right?"

The henchmen immediately joined the gold-chain-wearing man in shouting.

Qiao Luosheng exclaimed in disgust, "Are you guys sick? In my eyes, you're a bunch of social scum, stinking cockroaches. How could I possibly be brothers with you!"

"What a heartless bastard!" the man with the gold chain waved his hand. "Brothers, beat him senseless!"

"Who's afraid of you!" Qiao Luosheng rolled up his sleeves.

Seeing that a major battle was about to break out, Qiao Zhen rushed forward to shield her younger brother, "Luo Sheng, calm down!"

"Stop! All of you, stay put!" the policeman shouted, standing up.

Qiao Luosheng and the thugs immediately fell silent.

But Qiao Luosheng couldn't hold out for more than a few seconds before urgently saying, "Sister, I stopped them from beating people in the alley the day before yesterday, so I got bruises on my face and body! I've been harassed by them with phone calls and text messages for the past two days, and today I saw them beating people again, so I tried to stop them, but the police arrested me as an accomplice!"

“Officer…” Qiao Zhen looked at the police with hope, “Do you think there’s some mistake? My Luosheng is focused on his studies. He might get a little too hot-blooded and stand up for classmates who are being bullied, but he would never collude with thugs to fight!”

The police officer sighed, "Go and check the surveillance footage, and also the text messages on Qiao Luosheng's phone."

Qiao Zhen's body swayed slightly. Since the police had said that, it meant that the evidence was conclusive.

But she trusted her brother and was convinced there must be some misunderstanding, so she went to look at the evidence, hoping to find some clues.

As the evidence was laid out before her, Qiao Zhen's face gradually turned deathly pale.

In the surveillance video, the thugs were seen with their arms around Qiao Luosheng's shoulders as they walked down the alley, before they joined up with a few other thugs.

The surveillance footage only showed images, not sound. Judging from the images alone, they were jumping around with their backs to the camera, kicking the boy who was lying on the ground. The boy spat out blood, but they showed no sign of stopping.

In addition, there were chat logs between Qiao Luosheng and the thugs on his phone.

The thug said he would beat up the vice principal's son to vent Qiao Luo's anger.

The two agreed on a time and place, and even discussed where to have fun after they finished.

The worst part is that the thug said: "I just got my hands on some new amazing stuff that's guaranteed to make you feel like you're in heaven."

Qiao Luosheng replied: Save the good stuff for me, it's been a long time since I've had it!

Qiao Zhen's vision went black. The so-called "good stuff" was obviously drugs, and judging from the chat history, this wasn't the first time Qiao Luosheng had taken it.

She gripped her phone tightly through the evidence bag, asking, "Has there been any testing to determine if Qiao Luosheng ate this kind of thing?"

The police officer nodded. "The evidence has been collected and sent for testing. The results will take an hour."

Qiao Zhen looked at Qiao Luosheng and nodded slightly to encourage him. She then asked Teacher Fan, "Luosheng has been very well-behaved and sensible throughout his three years of high school. He has a good relationship with his classmates. I have never heard of him having a grudge against the vice principal's son."

Teacher Fan said, "The vice principal's son's academic performance is similar to Qiao Luosheng's, and the two have always been competitors in the rankings. In the recent mock exam rankings, the vice principal's son is ahead of Qiao Luosheng, and he told Qiao Luosheng that he will also beat him in the college entrance examination."

Qiao Zhen said, "Luo Sheng only sees classmates with better grades than him as his goals and tries his best to catch up."

Teacher Fan clicked her tongue impatiently, as if blaming Qiao Zhen for being too naive.

“Our school ranks students based on their college entrance exam scores every year, and the top ten get scholarships. Qiao Luosheng is likely to be squeezed out of the top ten by the vice principal’s son. With your family’s financial situation, a scholarship of tens of thousands of yuan must be very important to you…” She glanced at Qiao Zhen, her eyebrows raised high.
