Chapter 61 Local Dog

For most of the night, Ah Huang stayed in the same spot and did not leave. After a good rest, it finally felt that its condition had returned to its peak.

If Ah Huang were to encounter a Casio 800 again now, he felt he could easily take it down without being forced into a corner and having to fight back with his last instinct for survival.

As dawn broke, Ah Huang got up again. This place was not safe to stay any longer; hunters could come to check the traps and collect the prey at any time after daybreak.

It tore off several more pounds of wild boar meat. Although the food it had eaten earlier had not been fully digested, Ah Huang knew that in the wild, there wasn't always enough food waiting for it.

Eat as much as you can while you can, and store up more strength and energy, which will help you get through difficult times.

After Ah Huang ate the wild boar piglet weighing over 20 pounds for two meals, only the boar's head and a complete hind leg were left. Ah Huang ate nearly a third of the wild boar meat.

If the hunter had come earlier today, he could have taken the wild boar leg back with him. Ah Huang is not one of those irrational dogs; it eats in an orderly manner and doesn't nibble randomly while eating. The wild boar hind leg that was left behind is still intact.

After escaping the animal trap, Ah Huang continued running in the direction it felt it was heading. Dogs have a strong sense of direction, and it felt that its feeling was probably right; home was in that direction. Although it didn't know how far it was, it believed that as long as it kept going, it would definitely get there.

Ah Huang crossed one mountain after another. From dawn to afternoon, it only stopped to drink some water and rest for half an hour by a small stream in the mountains. Along the way, it caught a weasel that came to drink water by the stream.

This creature smelled quite strong, but in the wild, the taste of food isn't important; filling your stomach is the best thing. Ah Huang quickly ate the little thing and continued on his way.

After traversing so many desolate mountains, it finally encountered the first inhabited place outside Yizhou City when it crossed a mountain ridge.

This is a small village in the mountains, where almost every household keeps a dog. Ah Huang's arrival caused a strong reaction from the dogs.

They are not large in size, and are not fighting dogs. Most of them are Chinese rural dogs, but because of their different living environment, they are much stronger and more robust than the local dogs in Chen Chongshan's village.

As Ah Huang approached the village, he encountered two local dogs. They were intimidated by Ah Huang's enormous size. If it weren't for the fact that this guy had such obvious canine characteristics and that the scent was right, they would have thought they had encountered a wild animal from the mountains.

Even the fiercest jackals don't have such a robust and massive physique as this guy.

Although Ah Huang wasn't a wild animal, the local dogs still harbored strong hostility towards outsiders. They were clever; one or two dogs didn't dare to challenge Ah Huang, but they barked loudly at him, attracting the attention of the other dogs in the village.

Ah Huang knew that its rash intrusion had angered these guys. Instead of attacking these seemingly weak creatures, it chose to give way. It would be unwise to risk challenging a pack of dogs on someone else's territory.

It planned to take a longer route, bypassing the village, but the local dogs didn't think so. They mistook Ah Huang's forbearance for fear, and the low growls in Ah Huang's throat for bluffing. They assumed that their own momentum had scared the opponent out of their wits, and they barked wildly as they charged at Ah Huang.

These local dogs are very familiar with the terrain, and since they often roam the mountains and forests, they are very fast. Ah Huang simply cannot use his speed to shake them off.

A fight was inevitable. Ah Huang was never afraid of fighting; it only felt that some fights could be avoided and that there was no need for pointless struggles. But these persistent guys kept chasing after it. Ah Huang got angry and turned around to bite the big black dog that was charging at the front.

It was called a big black dog, but that was only in comparison to the local dogs. Its weight was no more than fifty pounds at most. Ah Huang easily threw it to the ground, then bit its ankle and, with a few swings, temporarily crippled that leg.

Soon other dogs rushed up as well. Although they were not very able to fight back against Ah Huang's attacks, the group fight still injured Ah Huang. Its hind legs, body, side of its neck, and even its tail were bitten by these guys.

Although the injuries were not serious, Ah Huang was thoroughly enraged. It began a merciless counterattack in anger. At first, it held back its strength and did not intend to kill them.

But now it's different. The pain in his body and his angry mind make Ah Huang no longer care about anything else. He quickly bites off the neck of a white dog, ending its life, and then bites at a yellow and white spotted dog next to him.

These local dogs, which generally weigh only 20 or 30 kilograms, were no match for Ah Huang's furious attack. Soon, Ah Huang pierced the throat of the spotted dog, and then Ah Huang opened a large hole in the chest of a yellow dog, exposing the bloody bones.

Ah Huang's sudden ferocity startled the pack of dogs. They weren't pit bulls, so they weren't so ignorant and fearless. They were more rational in their fights than pit bulls. After seeing the dog that charged ahead killed or bitten down, these guys stopped going forward and just kept a certain distance, barking wildly at Ah Huang in a show of bravado.

When the annoying creatures stopped attacking, Ah Huang stopped taking the initiative. It shook off the little guy in its mouth and was about to leave when the villagers started chasing after it.

The group consisted of several young men in their twenties who made their living by hunting in these mountains year-round. They had just been taking a nap at home when they were startled by the barking of the pack of dogs. They chased after them and saw Ah Huang in the midst of the killing.

They were hunters, and the dog was their closest brother. Their brother was being brutally attacked by this terrifying dog that had appeared out of nowhere, which enraged the hunters.

They grabbed sticks and charged at Ah Huang, one of them even running home to get a shotgun to kill the guy.

With the arrival of humans, these local dogs became even more aggressive. Although the idiom "a dog relying on its master's power" is often used to describe people, it was perfectly applicable to these dogs this time.

Ah Huang also saw the people running towards it with weapons, so it turned around and ran away, no longer wanting to fight.
