This is an independent female protagonist story. It involves rebirth, spatial abilities, hoarding supplies, post-apocalyptic survival, and occasional team-ups.
Disasters include earthquakes, ...
Before setting off, Li Ke did not act rashly. She first went up to the top of the building and observed the distant residential area from a high vantage point.
Because of the distance, she couldn't observe much and found no signs of anyone moving around outside the residential area. This made Li Ke suspicious about whether the child was lying, but she couldn't make a definitive judgment at the moment.
After going downstairs, Li Ke saw the child sitting against a pillar, about five meters away from her motorcycle parked next to her. Li Ke didn't look at the child; her luggage had already been packed and tied to the motorcycle.
The child sat in the distance as if watching the car for her, behaving very obediently. But in Li Ke's mind, the child was a troublesome presence.
Once everything was ready, Li Ke gently started the motorcycle engine. He only needed to press the accelerator to set off immediately.
Yu Guangzhong's frail figure finally moved. He stood up shakily, his voice full of longing and reluctance: "Are you leaving already? It will soon be very dark outside, and it will be very scary. I can let you stay here for another night, and it's okay if you leave tomorrow morning."
This was the first person to give him food, and the first person to have a conversation with Xiaoguang since his mother left.
There was not a trace of bloodthirsty ferocity in this person's eyes.
Despite his lingering fear, Xiao Guang felt a pang of reluctance to leave. He had been alone for too long and couldn't help but hope that this seemingly nice person would stay a little longer.
"I won't bother you, and I won't ask you for food again. The toast and water you gave me can last me a long time. The toast is delicious; I've never eaten anything so good before. I won't bother you if you stay here. If you like it here, I can let you have it, and I'll find another place." Seeing that the other person remained silent, Xiao Guang spoke again.
Li Ke sighed, finally got out of the car, and stood there asking, "What's your name? Are you a boy or a girl?"
The tension on the child's face changed slightly. He clutched his shirt and smiled slightly, saying, "My name is Xiaoguang. I'm a boy. My mom says I'm a brave child."
Li Ke hadn't asked many questions before, because she didn't want to meddle and didn't want the child to leave any trace on her life path.
Although there are still many things she doesn't know about this child, she is at least certain that there are only the two of them nearby, and that the child is very strong.
"Xiao Guang, do you want to come with me? I won't stay. If you want to come with me, I can give you a ride. If we come to a place where people live and they are willing to take you in, I will leave you there," Li Ke asked.
"I'm not leaving. If you give me away to someone else, they'll eat me up!" Upon hearing Li Ke's words, Xiao Guang immediately hid behind the wall and loudly refused Li Ke's request.
Li Ke: "Have you ever seen them eat people?"
Xiao Guang poked his head out a little, his bright eyes staring at Li Ke: "It was my mother who said that people outside like to eat children's flesh, and that I should hide well and not trust anyone."
Li Ke tried to soften her tone as much as possible: "Don't worry, I won't eat you. I have enough food on my own. Look at you, all skin and bones, you probably don't have much meat on you, you don't look appetizing. Even if I hand you over to someone else, they'll definitely be just as uninterested in you as I am."
Xiao Guang just stared silently at Li Ke, without saying a word or even moving an inch. Li Ke didn't say anything more either, thinking to herself that she had done her best and that she respected the child's choice.
Li Ke thought for a moment, then took out three bags of toast and two bottles of water from her backpack and put them on the ground: "I'm leaving now. These things are for you. Your mother is right, there are many bad people outside. Hide from them and try your best to survive, Xiao Guang."
Turning around, Li Ke hopped on his motorcycle, turned the key to start the engine, and slowly drove out of the building. In the rearview mirror, he could see Xiao Guang walking out quickly, staring blankly in the direction Li Ke had left.
Li Ke's car turned and entered another alley, and soon the small figure disappeared from sight.
The car was moving very slowly. Li Ke stopped near the exit, took out her phone, found the map, and started checking the route. She had previously downloaded map packages for all the cities. Although the earthquake and floods had damaged some roads and terrain, the general directions had not changed.
Having chosen the route, I started the motorcycle when I heard Xiao Guang's urgent voice behind me: "Wait for me, I'll go with you, take me with you."
Sitting in the car, Li Ke looked in the rearview mirror at Xiao Guang's small figure carrying a large mop-like bundle, clumsily making its way here. She sighed inwardly, thinking how troublesome it was.
Li Ke returned to the building, found a room with a bathtub, filled it with water, and took out a set of clean clothes to give Xiao Guang a bath.
The child smelled terrible; she was really disgusted that he had to ride in the same car with her. It was essential to clean him up.
Xiao Guang stood in front of the bathtub, refusing to take off his clothes: "This water can be drunk for a long time, so I don't need to take a bath."
Li Ke crossed her arms and said, "You have to wash. You can only come with me after you've washed."
Xiao Guang frowned and stared blankly for a while before looking up at Li Ke and saying, "I'll just wash my face and use a little water. We can pack the rest and drink it on the way..."
Li Ke, having exhausted his patience, stepped forward, grabbed Xiao Guang, and pulled down his pants. Xiao Guang screamed in fright and instinctively tried to attack Li Ke.
Li Ke immediately pulled him away with disgust and growled, "Shut up. If you yell again, I'll leave right now and never talk to you again."
