Niu Dazhuang and his group had been traveling all day when, in the evening, a team of twenty people arrived with supplies. The team escorting the hostages was overjoyed to see their companions and food, as if they had seen a timely rain.

"Luckily, we hid some of the supplies along the way, otherwise we would have really run out of ammunition and food and would have been unable to continue," the team member who delivered the supplies said with emotion.

It turned out that two days after the main force followed the bandits who were leading the way into the mountains, those who stayed behind were also exploited by the bandits. All their weapons were taken, and only some food was left behind.

They stole four cars. They originally intended to take them all, but they ran out of fuel. So the group collected all the fuel and finally picked four cars to drive away.

After they left, a small group of the remaining team went down the mountain to contact people and also brought up some supplies. They already knew the bandits' modus operandi and thought that the team that went into the mountains to ransom people would likely lose all their supplies as well.

The officer looked at Niu Dazhuang, wanting to explain, but he swallowed his words back as soon as he opened his mouth. He felt that he would be rebuked again, so he might as well say nothing.

Niu Dazhuang's expression darkened further. He questioned, "Why are you silent? Have you run out of things to say? Let me tell you, our base commander has been taken away. If you can't come up with an effective plan, then I'll have to notify everyone in our base to mobilize for combat."

The officer wiped his face and said helplessly, "Our people will figure something out. There's no use in you just worrying like this. Just wait for news."

Niu Dazhuang glared angrily at the officer: "You're spouting nonsense again! What's your plan? Can't you let me get involved too?"

Officer: "...If you keep messing around with me like this, don't blame me for being impolite. Our missions are all classified. Even if I knew, I couldn't tell you."

Niu Dazhuang stood up and urged everyone to hurry on their way: "Let's hurry up and leave after we finish eating. It'll be cooler at night. Let's go, let's go...!"

Seeing that Niu Dazhuang had taken it upon himself to walk away and head down the mountain, the officer had no choice but to stand up and tell everyone to continue on their way.

According to these people, they were imprisoned in several places. One group said they were imprisoned in the mountains, another group said they were imprisoned in a basement, and some others said they were on an island.

The only thing they had in common was that these robbers were all extremely ruthless and vicious, and they were very short of food. They only gave these hostages a little bit of food and water every two days.

People were arrested every day, but they didn't say for sure what they were taken away for. Seeing their expressions, Niu Dazhuang couldn't ask any further questions. In short, those people never came back.

Li Ke boarded the boat with the robbers. She smelled the water vapor and felt the waves after boarding, but she quickly got used to it.

They were led inside. The robbers were very quiet along the way, only occasionally saying a few words, but in a border language that Li Ke couldn't understand.

Even after being ordered to sit down in the cabin, Li Ke and the others did not have their hoods removed.

After an unknown amount of time, Li Ke heard the rumbling of hunger from the stomachs of his teammates. One of them tentatively asked, "Could you give us some food?"

The robber sneered, "Shut up and be quiet. There's no food. Don't say another word."

By the time she disembarked, Li Ke estimated that a day and a night had passed, and she was quite hungry.

This time they were pushed onto the car again and ordered to sit down. Li Ke heard the sound of the car door being locked.

The car started moving and went very fast. The people inside swayed a few times before regaining their balance and sitting up again.

Li Ke carefully studied all the sounds she heard in the carriage. It seemed that only the voices of her own people were heard, and she did not hear the heavy breathing of the robbers.

"Is anyone here? Could you give us some food?" Li Ke asked tentatively in a low voice.

The carriage fell silent after Li Ke's question. After a while, no one responded or stopped them.

Li Ke raised his hand to untie the elastic rope around his neck from the hood. After a little effort, he finally saw the light. In the somewhat dim and stuffy carriage, there were only the thirty of them.

Along with Li Ke, four other people removed their hoods, including Yan Bo, a squad leader temporarily appointed by the officer.

In no time, everyone had their heads covered with hoods. Although they could bite the ropes open, no one did it.

Seeing that these people weren't panicked, Li Ke asked directly, "Can someone tell me what's going on? Do you know where we're being taken?"

Li Ke sensed their dishonesty from the exchange of glances, and quickly added, "If you keep everything from me, I'll act on my own. Don't blame me if anything goes wrong and affects your plans."

Yan Bo thought for a moment before replying, "Actually, there's nothing I'm hiding from you. We don't know much either. Our current mission is to find a way to infiltrate the group of kidnappers and find out what's going on inside. We're hostages now, and what will happen after we go in is unpredictable, so we can't let you know much. If something happens, you'll have to adapt to the situation."
