No matter how despicable Nguyen Bang was, he was the center of attention in the Nguyen family. Among his many brothers and sisters, Nguyen Xuan, who was not favored, could not even get close to him at his welcoming banquet.

The Ruan family didn't have many sons. Besides Ruan Bang, there were four other boys. These four younger brothers were all quite young, and Ruan Bang and his first wife didn't pay them any attention.

The first wife came from a good family, no less so than the Ruan family, and she devoted all her energy to her two daughters and one son.

Ruan Xuan had some money and personal belongings, which the First Madam did not confiscate and allowed them to take out. Life wasn't too difficult, and Ruan Xuan felt that this was not bad.

But Ruan Bang still came looking for her. Ruan's mother went out to find work, and Ruan Bang forced himself on Ruan Chun in her rented house. Actually, it wasn't really that bad, because Ruan Chun was afraid of pain and didn't dare to resist Ruan Bang much.

When Nguyen Xuan’s mother returned, she saw Nguyen Xuan and Nguyen Bang sleeping together. Knowing it was one thing, but seeing it was another. Nguyen Xuan’s mother silently chased Nguyen Bang away.

From then on, everything Nguyen Xuan and her daughter did went wrong. Their house was burgled, they were robbed when they went out, and their landlord refused to rent to them anymore. Nguyen Xuan knew that Nguyen Bang was behind it all.

Ruan Xuan's mother started going on blind dates. Ruan Xuan found each of the men the matchmakers brought disgusting. She could already imagine what kind of life her mother would lead if she really got married.

So she ran back to the building that Ruan Bang had bought for her. Ruan Bang liked her quite a bit, and not long after, Ruan Xuan also brought her mother over.

“I talked to her a lot, trying to make her understand my choice. Neither of us has any skills, and I still have to go to school. If Ruan Bang doesn’t let me go, we can’t live a peaceful life. I found a reliable matchmaker and found a good man for my mother. She is beautiful and doesn't look old, so she would be very popular if she remarried.
