This is an independent female protagonist story. It involves rebirth, spatial abilities, hoarding supplies, post-apocalyptic survival, and occasional team-ups.
Disasters include earthquakes, ...
There weren't many people who came to pick up Li Ke and his group; there were only five drivers in total. They were all bundled up very tightly, and when they arrived, they waved to those who were supposed to get in the car so they could get in quickly.
If possible, Li Ke felt that these people probably wouldn't even want to stop their cars.
Xia Ji sent someone to the car to verify their identity. The other party took out their identification but didn't look at Xia Ji's documents much, only telling him to get in the car and leave quickly.
The entrance is at the base of the iceberg. Once you get there, you realize that the iceberg is not pure white at all. Deep inside, it seems to be mixed with stains, but it is covered by a thick layer of ice containing impurities, so you can't explore it clearly.
After entering the depths of the entrance and passing through a cold, icy cave, the structure of the building finally comes into view.
It turns out that the iceberg wasn't actually a mountain, but rather a series of tall buildings. However, these buildings were unusually quiet, and no one seemed to live inside.
Sometimes, the houses are separated by thick ice walls, and their vehicles drive through tunnels carved out of these ice walls, continuing deeper into the area.
Finally, we entered an underground parking garage. The cold wind outside was gone, but the situation was only slightly better; it was still bitterly cold.
The driver began rudely urging people to get out of the car. Xia Ji also got out of his own car. Only the Zheng family, who were the owners, remained huddled in the car, wrapped tightly in thick blankets.
The car had its heater on, but it was clearly not very powerful. Xia Ji asked the driver when he would take them to a place to stay.
The lead driver, speaking in a gruff voice, told us to wait a little longer, his contempt blatantly obvious.
Li Ke walked over to Xia Ji, who was frowning and not moving for the moment: "Wasn't this Zheng family, a member of the royal family, invited? Is this how these people treat their guests? This doesn't feel right."
Xia Ji: "That's not quite right."
Li Ke glanced at the members sitting motionless in the car. They didn't care what was happening outside; they just waited in the car, showing remarkable patience.
Almost ten minutes later, the two elevators opposite opened simultaneously. They were large transport elevators, and the driver told them to drive the car in.
Xia Ji selected a few people to go out and enter the elevator with the car in a while, while the others waited for the next elevator ride.
Li Ke and several of her female colleagues were among the first to get off the elevator when it showed that it had descended eight floors before stopping.
Upon opening the door, a vast parking lot came into view, with about one-sixth of the parking spaces in use. A striking difference was the noticeably higher temperature.
After Li Ke and the others standing outside the car stepped out of the elevator, they loosened the buttons and zippers around their necks.
Three greeters in suits stood at the door. Compared to the heavy clothing of Li Ke and his group, these people looked very light and comfortable.
After taking off her gloves, Li Ke began to unbutton and unzip her coat. The temperature here was about 17 or 18 degrees Celsius, and she felt hot.
This time, the reception was much more polite. The person in charge personally opened the car door for the Zheng family, and the family finally got to get out of the blanket.
They are all of Asian descent, except that the daughter's skin is fairer, while the parents' and son's skin has a more yellowish tint.
Both ladies were wearing makeup, which Li Ke thought might be a characteristic of their local makeup style, and they actually looked quite elegant and beautiful.
Calling this place an underground castle is an understatement; it's more like a small, technologically advanced underground city.
The corridor was brightly lit, but Li Ke couldn't find a fixed light source. It was like natural light filling the room, comfortable and soft.
After exiting the corridor, they were led by a receptionist to the stairs and down to the next floor. Xia Ji, on the other hand, followed the family he was supposed to protect and, guided by another receptionist, took the elevator.
The staircase was deep and long, with high walls on both sides. After exiting the walled area, their eyes were suddenly opened up, as if they had entered a park street.
The street is lined with more than a dozen high-rise buildings, with green plants and grass on the ground, and real natural light overhead. Occasionally, two or three people can be seen sitting on benches and lawns below, talking or daydreaming.
"This looks like a really nice place," the teammates with Li Ke all thought to themselves.
Xia Ji and the others had already come out of the elevator next door for a while. In that short time, the Zheng family had taken off another coat, and now they looked even more light and energetic.
The host gave a general introduction to the layout of the residential area and then led them to a building next door. Their group was assigned to the second and third floors of the building, which were occupied entirely by their people.
The accommodation is excellent, with large suites and small suites available. Large suites can accommodate six to seven people, while small suites can accommodate three to four people. There are also many small and convenient single rooms with ample space for guests to choose from.
Without a doubt, everyone chose to share a suite. Li Ke originally wanted to stay in a single room, but after receiving a disapproving look from Xia Qing, and thinking of her responsibilities as team leader, she gave up on that idea as well.
Upon entering the room, everyone immediately began checking it to ensure there were no problems before quickly changing clothes, washing their hands and faces, and then going to the second-floor lobby to wait for orders.
The Zheng family lived in the largest master suite on the second floor, while Li Ke and Xia Ji lived separately on the second floor, and the rest of the family was arranged on the third floor.
Xia Ji hadn't arrived yet, so Li Ke and her group walked around the lobby, occasionally glancing at the people moving about on the ground outside through the balcony glass.
