Chapter 340 Foreign Aid

Xia Ji: "I notified the external support, and the aid should have arrived, so they dare not do anything to us anymore."

Li Ke: "When were you notified?"

Xia Ji stated frankly, "While I was in the monitoring room, I contacted the communication equipment and sent out a distress signal."

So while they were inside the building, Xia Ji knew someone would come to rescue them. Li Ke then asked, "Who is the outside help? Is it the underwater aircraft carrier that brought us here?"

Xia Ji shook his head: "No, it was our own people who stayed outside. They cut off all external communications from here and simulated aircraft carrier signals."

Li Ke squinted, asking suspiciously, "You were really unconscious before? Aren't you afraid that something will be missing when you wake up?"

Xia Ji revealed some more information: "We send a safety signal to people outside three times a day. If they don't receive the signal within the agreed time, they will proceed with the next step."

After saying that, Xia Ji told Li Ke that they had received an invitation to the banquet and could attend it openly the next day.

Li Ke sneered: "Why go through all this trouble? Why not just start like this from the beginning?"

Xia Ji explained, "Our forces are limited. We are only temporarily cutting off their external communications to confuse them. Once we have achieved our goal, we will withdraw as soon as possible."

Li Ke saw the Zheng family outside the window walking out of a building in the distance, and being led by a waiter into a sightseeing car heading in another direction.

Xia Ji watched Li Ke stare coldly at the group as they left, then softened his tone and said, "If you're angry with them, you can teach them a lesson after this is done."

Li Ke turned her head and said bluntly, "Shouldn't you be angrier at them? I don't care."

As Xia Ji watched Li Ke about to leave, he suddenly said, "Li Ke, next time just use acupuncture. The medicated oil isn't really that effective."

Li Ke replied almost without hesitation, "I find it great to use; I feel it would be a waste to give it to you."

After taking a few steps, Li Ke realized the sinister meaning behind Xia Ji's words. This guy's unconsciousness might really be fake. She carefully reviewed her actions and, after confirming that she hadn't made any major mistakes, returned to her room.

The next day, another hundred people arrived. Thirty escorted the wounded, whose condition had stabilized, away, while the remaining seventy stayed behind as new reinforcements.

At 5:30 p.m., Xia Ji, along with Li Ke and his four teammates, headed to the banquet venue.

After riding in the sightseeing bus for four or five minutes, they arrived at another side of the building. Only then did Li Ke realize that the buildings here were actually two sides of the same coin, and the place they had stayed before was on the other side.

Upon entering the banquet hall, Li Ke discovered that it was truly bustling. Compared to the quiet scene before, this place was teeming with people and extremely noisy.

"This trade fair seems a bit low-end," Li Ke muttered to himself.

Xia Ji smiled and said, "That's true. They'll do anything. If we hadn't woken up, we would probably be on the sales table tonight too."

A pair of eyes in the distance narrowed sharply upon seeing Li Ke. They stared at Li Ke for two more seconds, and after confirming that they were not mistaken, a vicious smile curled at the corner of their lips.
