Chapter 348 Execute First, Report Later

Another storm arose at sea, with fierce winds and torrential rain, and turbulent waves taking turns to surge. Xia Ji's ship sailed intermittently for two days, finally getting a brief respite, but due to the large waves, it inevitably veered off course.

The storm seemed to be subsiding, but the rain was still falling. Just as the crew set sail again, they suddenly spotted a dark dot on the sea ahead, being pushed closer to them by the waves.

After focusing their observation, they realized it was a person, whose fate was unknown. The crew asked their teammates to report to their superiors and ask if they should launch a rescue operation.

Xia Ji went to the cockpit to observe the situation. The person was wearing a somewhat tattered life jacket, and his all-black clothes were bobbing up and down in the wind and waves, making it difficult to make out his appearance.

But as they got closer and saw the shape of the clothes that were barely visible, Xia Ji's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately ordered a rescue.

When Xia Ji saw that the person being pulled from the water was Li Ke, his hands trembled uncontrollably. The woman was in very bad condition; any slight movement caused blood to flow from her ears and nose.

Her skin was cold and pale, without a trace of blood. The group carefully placed her on a stretcher and then carried her to the emergency room.

Xia Ji waited outside the emergency room for a long time before the doctor finally came out. He asked anxiously, "How is she? Has she woken up?"

The doctor shook his head: "The spleen has been ruptured in various ways, three ribs are broken, and the whole body is covered with bruises from the impact. The injuries are extremely serious."

Xia Ji felt a pang of pain in his heart as he listened. He asked anxiously, "What's the situation now? Is there any hope? Can it be saved?!"

The doctor glanced at Xia Ji. Commander Xia was really paying too much attention to this woman. He stopped being mysterious and said admiringly, "It's also because her physical condition is stronger than that of ordinary people. In such cold conditions, with such severe injuries, it's a miracle that she can still hold on to life. Don't worry, although her injuries are serious, her condition has stabilized. After another month or two of rest, she should be almost fully recovered."

Xia Ji then felt a slight relief in his heart. He relaxed his brow and said, "That's good. As long as she stays calm, when will she wake up?"

Doctor: "It's hard to say. Maybe she'll wake up later, or maybe tomorrow. In her current condition, it's actually better for her to sleep. Waking up would be very painful for her."

Xia Ji: "Don't we have painkillers?"

The doctor rolled his eyes at him: "Yes, but you can't use it forever. Just wait."

Upon hearing this, Xia Ji didn't ask any more questions. Seeing the person being wheeled out of the emergency room, she quickly went forward to check on them.

The doctor looked at him and shook his head. It was still a novelty for an old tree to bloom, but he had still made a great contribution today.

With blood and hair samples in his pocket, the doctor headed toward his lab. The woman's injuries were far more horrific than he had described, but she was still clinging to life.

The doctors were aware that many people were experiencing changes in their bodies, and they had collected numerous blood samples for research. This was the first time they had collected samples from Li Ke, and the doctors were very curious about her condition.

Li Ke lay in bed on and off for more than a week before his spirits truly began to recover. Because of the frequent storms, their speed at sea was not fast.

During this time, Xia Ji and Xia Yu were frequent visitors to her bedside. Most of the time, they would take care of her meals, talk to her, and then quietly stay with her for a while.

Half a month later, the ship finally arrived at the underwater aircraft carrier's base. Xia Ji sent the solar energy mineral he had to the aircraft carrier's research lab for compositional analysis.

Li Ke is now able to get out of bed and move around, and occasionally does some light exercise. Her attending physician is very concerned about her physical condition and often comes to check on her and ask about her recovery.

Li Ke could see a strange excitement in his eyes, but she didn't pay much attention to it. The space wanted more light energy minerals, and Li Ke also sensed the recent changes in the space.

Even a small piece, no bigger than a fingernail, seems to bring a fresh vitality to this space that has remained unchanged for many years.

This vitality not only benefits the space, but also seems to nourish her body, but she is currently a seriously injured patient and can only suppress these feelings.

After witnessing some of the wonders of the solar energy mine, the captain remained as composed as a mountain, but the emotion in his eyes betrayed his inner turmoil.

"This stuff is indeed precious. If we had more of these energy mines, our immigration plan could proceed much faster and more smoothly," the captain's deep voice rang out.

Xia Ji: "Can we thoroughly study it within a week? I have a feeling that this thing has too much energy, and its stability should also be a big problem."

Captain: "Let's wait. We don't necessarily need to understand it completely. Just knowing its key properties, uses, and value is enough."

Xia Ji nodded. Once he arrived here, he was no longer the supreme commander.

The captain suddenly asked again, "I heard that Li Ke was seriously injured. How is he now?"

Xia Ji: "She has just recovered a bit and still needs to rest. Her injuries were too severe. It's already a great achievement that she survived."

Xia Ji had some personal motives. Li Ke's physical condition was actually better than he had imagined, but even so, Xia Ji felt that given her current physical condition, she was not suitable to participate in the next solar energy mine mission.

"Then tell her to rest well and recover as soon as possible. Also, tell her that I was asked by an old friend to take some of her hair tissue, and the tissue has been returned."

After a slight pause, Xia Ji immediately asked, "Is this Commander Mo? Shouldn't we consult Li Ke about this matter first?"
