Chen Nanxing and his men searched the area all night. At dawn, everyone returned to their unit, the mission was over, and they drove away in their submarine.

The team of sixty people, plus Li Ke and his two companions, ultimately only recovered forty-seven people, including thirteen corpses. The reason they were able to find so many people was because they captured the submarine that was on a mission, which had forty people left behind.

The submarine was caught in the whirlpool and severely damaged. After Chen Nanxing searched the inside and took everything he could, he had it thrown into the whirlpool's outlet to seal it off, and then everything was left without a trace.

After sitting down to rest for a while, Chen Nanxing asked his subordinates if there was any movement from the people being held there, and if there was anything unusual in the detention cells.

The subordinate recounted Xia Qing and Meng Yu's conversation: "Apart from that, nothing unusual happened."

Chen Nanxing took a sip of tea and then asked, "What about the other person? They haven't woken up either?"

The subordinate shook his head: "He hasn't woken up yet. The dosage of the injected drug was very large; he won't wake up that quickly."

This was a superior talking to himself, while the subordinate listened silently without saying anything more.

Li Ke put away the jammer. She had listened carefully beforehand; everyone outside the door had left, and there was no breathing in the next room. If there was surveillance, it was a monitoring and listening device.

But now that his spatial awareness has warned him that someone is spying on him, Li Ke will naturally not act rashly again. If he is to act, he needs to make his body stronger.

Xia Qing and Meng Yu opposite him had been silent for a while. Li Ke could not hear any more noise and could not make any moves, so he decided to take a nap.

She slept until noon the next day when someone opened the door to bring them food. Li Ke woke up alertly upon hearing the noise, and the sleep made her feel much stronger.

Chen Nanxing led her people in. She went straight to where Li Ke was, while the others brought food to Xia Qing and Meng Yu.

Li Ke opened her eyes and looked at Chen Nanxing. Chen Nanxing was overjoyed: "Ke Ke, you're finally awake. I was so worried about you."

Xia Qing and Meng Yu, on the other side, heard Chen Nanxing's voice, which was no different from usual, and found it unusually affected.

Li Ke looked at Chen Nanxing and retorted, "Isn't all of this thanks to you?"

Upon hearing this, Chen Nanxing finally couldn't help but laugh: "I thought you would black out for a while. To be honest, before the formal questioning, I still cherish our friendship."

Li Ke tugged at her hands, which were chained to the headboard. The chain was short, and her hands and feet were spread apart. The fact that they hadn't locked her neck was already a sign of leniency.

Li Ke explained his situation and then said, "Do I have to thank you?"

Chen Nanxing leaned down to look at Li Ke, who was speaking to him with a blank expression, and felt refreshed: "You're so cute!"

The tone was as if she were talking to a cat or dog. Li Ke sighed, "You're not as cute as you used to be."

Chen Nanxing smiled and sat down by Li Ke's bed: "I'll take that as a compliment on my progress. Come on, Ke Ke, let me feed you."

Li Ke watched as Chen Nanxing brought a spoonful of white, mushy food to her face. She immediately turned her head away and said, "I'm not hungry, and I'm not used to eating while lying down. If you really think we still have a friendship, why don't you let me get up and sit for a while? Lying down for too long will make me uncomfortable."

Chen Nanxing stared at Li Ke for a while before putting the spoon away. Xia Qing and Meng Yu, who had been watching the situation, quickly spoke up when they heard Li Ke refuse to eat. "We're not hungry and don't need to eat."

Chen Nanxing beckoned his subordinates to his side, handed them the food he was holding, then pulled out a pistol and pointed it at Li Ke's temple.

Xia Qing and Meng Yu exclaimed at the same time, "Chen Nanxing! Don't do anything reckless—!"

Chen Nanxing ignored them and looked at Li Ke, saying, "I cherish my friendships with girls the most. Now I'm doing what you want, but you have to behave yourself, or I'll get tired of you. There are plenty of people on this ship who want to entertain you."

Faced with Chen Nanxing's threat, Li Ke naturally nodded pragmatically. Chen Nanxing smiled with satisfaction and lengthened the chains on both of her hands.

Li Ke tried to sit up, supporting herself with her arms, but couldn't manage it for a moment. Seeing that she was having some difficulty, Chen Nanxing considerately reached out to help her.

I was afraid of failing, so I had to be a bit ruthless. You have to understand me. You know how difficult you are to deal with."

Listening to Chen Nanxing's proud little complaints, Li Ke was both amused and exasperated: "So, should I be proud of how amazing I am?"

Chen Nanxing laughed out loud: "Unfortunately, I am the most powerful one. In the end, you still fell into my hands."

Li Ke ignored her and sat on the bed rubbing her head. Xia Qing asked, "How did you manage to do all this? Was this how you caught Xiao Yi back then? Also, you didn't need me to do anything, so why did you drag me into this?"
