This is an independent female protagonist story. It involves rebirth, spatial abilities, hoarding supplies, post-apocalyptic survival, and occasional team-ups.
Disasters include earthquakes, ...
Due to insufficient space in the elevator, for safety reasons, only 42 people were ultimately brought up. Nearly 20 of them climbed onto the cable-stayed bridge or stood on top of other people's heads to get on.
The reason so many people were able to come up at once is because they are all very thin and light.
Even though Li Ke thought he had seen many cruel scenes, he still felt a pang of pain in his eyes when he saw these people coming up.
Nguyen Xuan stood at the very edge, first getting off the elevator, and then leading the people down to the ground one by one. These people, whose bodies were covered in charred remains, immediately crouched down after their feet touched the ground, only feeling safe after their hands touched the soil.
Those around them, seeing the state of these people, all had tears in their eyes, and some, with soft hearts, couldn't help but sob.
They thought they had already lived a miserable life, but after seeing these people, they felt as if they had just crawled out of hell, and just looking at them made them feel unbearable pain.
Ruan Xuan and the other food deliverymen, having seen this many times, behaved better than the others.
She walked up to Li Ke and said hoarsely, "Most of these people have lost their five senses. There's a vibrator down there that can call over the people guarding the top to receive the items. The people you see in front of you are in slightly better condition; they can still hear some of the noise if it's louder, but their eyes and skin are completely destroyed. In this state, do you still want to save them? Actually, it's pointless..."
Li Ke looked at the people huddled together. Their original skin was no longer visible; all that could be seen was the dried mud covering their bodies. Some of the mud on their bodies still felt slightly damp.
Li Ke stepped forward and touched the mud with her hand. Some of the mud stuck to her hand in strands, but no blood or flesh appeared; it was still just mud strands. The people in front of her looked more like thin, mud-covered figures.
Nguyen Xuan then explained, "They smeared this mud on themselves, and by smearing it on and on, it grew into their flesh and blood. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to withstand the temperature below."
Li Ke took a deep breath, unsure of what to say. Just as Ruan Chun had said, if she were rational enough, she should make a decision to abandon these people, because they were no longer an asset to her, but only a burden.
Li Ke waved his hand in front of their eyes, but their eyes seemed to be sealed shut with mud, and they couldn't respond at all.
Suppressing the throbbing pain in his heart, Li Ke asked with difficulty, "They can't see, so how did you manage to deliver meals? And how did they continue mining down there?"
After a long pause, Nguyen Xuan replied, "I don't know. Perhaps it's the instinct to survive; that instinct allowed them to adapt to life below..."
Ruan Chun choked up for a moment before saying, "Li Ke, give up. No one will blame you. You can't take them with you. I'll send them down now."
Li Ke's heart was burning, a fire that burned ever brighter, making her so angry that she wanted to destroy everything, but on her face, she appeared increasingly calm.
She loudly urged the spatial consciousness in her mind if it had come up with a solution. The consciousness vibrated twice and finally responded. It had calculated that it could use its energy to protect her as she descended, but only if she could collect a considerable amount of light energy minerals to feed back to it after she went down.
Otherwise, it will also overdraw its strength and become unsustainable. In short, it is possible to go down, but it is a very risky thing.
Although Li Ke was passionate, she hadn't lost her mind. It took her almost half an hour to go down the elevator and bring back fifty people, and they still didn't know how many people were down there.
Even if Li Ke wanted to go down and save people, he would at least have to resolve all the hidden dangers above first.
Looking at the people here, Li Ke said to Ruan Chun, "Take these people to the food shed and hide there. I'll find a way to send you some weapons and food later."
Looking into Li Ke's eyes, Ruan Chun felt as if she were seeing a powerful hope. No matter how clear she was about the difficulties ahead, as long as she saw those determined eyes, she would follow her without hesitation.
“Okay, we’ll wait for you.” Nguyen Xuan agreed, and then together with the others, they helped the person on the ground up and led them toward the food shed.
Li Ke scanned the area but didn't see anyone else. In fact, her senses were now very sharp, and she could detect even the slightest movements, but subconsciously, she still trusted her eyes more.
After escorting Ruan Chun and the others into the food shed, Li Ke went to a secluded corner. When she reappeared, she was carrying two large bags on her back.
When Ruan Xuan saw her appear so quickly, her eyes lit up again, and she exclaimed in surprise, "How did you get here so fast?"
Li Ke assumed this had been prepared in advance, and told Ruan Chun and the others to distribute the food and weapons, and then wait for her there.
Seeing that Ruan Chun had agreed, Li Ke left her a message: "If you can get out of here alive this time, I will take you to my base."
Nguyen Xuan: "If I can really get out of here alive, I'll only acknowledge you, and I won't follow anyone else."
Li Ke patted her shoulder, telling them to be careful and to prioritize their safety if anything unexpected happened, before turning and leaving.
When Li Ke found the elevator again, there was a man in front of her, the hostage she had knocked unconscious earlier.
Once inside the elevator, Li Ke asked the man, "How many guards do you have here? Where are they all concentrated?"
When the man woke up after falling unconscious, he had no idea what had happened. He saw that Li Ke only had weapons on her and nothing else, so he assumed that she had failed to take the energy ore.
