Chapter 50 Wrong Person Hit

Grandpa Chen and Chen Niansheng had already returned home. As soon as they got back, Grandma Chen greeted them with a tearful tirade, every word she uttered was a furious and vehement condemnation of Li Ke.

Then they exposed Aunt Chen's elbows and knees, showing them the bruises, and embellished Li Ke's account of his misdeeds, making them unforgivable.

Grandpa Chen and Chen Niansheng didn't really believe Grandma Chen's words, but compared to Grandma Chen, Li Ke was just an orphan with no real influence. To keep Grandma Chen quiet, it was no big deal to let Li Ke suffer a little.

Moreover, Chen Niansheng had also sensed some changes in Li Ke recently. This girl had been quite disobedient lately, and it was time to teach her a lesson and get her back to her former obedient self.

However, as a stepfather, he naturally wouldn't do it himself; he would just watch over his elderly mother and prevent her from getting upset.

For example, at this moment, Aunt Chen excitedly ran over and said to Grandma Chen and them, "You're back! I saw that brat just get off the bus and is walking this way."

Aunt Chen only saw Li Ke return and immediately ran back to inform him, so she naturally did not notice that Li Zhenzhen was following behind Li Ke.

Even if she did see Li Zhenzhen, she wouldn't care much. In Aunt Chen's mind, Li Zhenzhen was nothing more than a vain, greedy stepmother who coveted the Chen family's money.

Grandma Chen disliked Li Zhenzhen and often cursed her in private with Aunt Chen, calling Li Zhenzhen a vixen. She said that at her age, Li Zhenzhen was still running a dance studio and that she didn't know what kind of improper things and people she was teaching every day.

Old Mrs. Chen openly and secretly cursed Li Zhenzhen every day, and even made Aunt Chen curse her with her. Over time, Aunt Chen naturally lost all respect for Li Zhenzhen, the mistress of the house.

Upon hearing the news from Aunt Chen, Grandma Chen immediately stood up and urged, "Then what are you waiting for? Hurry up and bring out the basin of water. In a moment, give her a good splash!"

After giving her instructions, Grandma Chen didn't stop there. Instead, she took a cane and walked towards the door. Then she called to her son, Chen Niansheng, "Niansheng, come here quickly. You'll have to help me in a bit. This girl is as unruly as a monkey! You all have to see how heartless and despicable she is. She dared to lay a hand on me! It's only because our family is too kind that we took in such an ungrateful little bitch!"

Li Ke had already spotted Aunt Chen's furtive figure, but when she reached the door, there was no sound from the hall, which made her feel a little strange.

With doubts and wariness rising in her heart, Li Ke naturally slowed down her pace, and Li Zhenzhen, who was next to her, stepped forward to walk alongside her.

Aunt Chen secretly glanced at the figure appearing at the door, and immediately emerged from the side of the door carrying a basin of murky sewage, her face contorted in a ferocious expression.

Her eyes were filled with schadenfreude and excitement as she gritted her teeth and forcefully splashed a basin of dirty water onto Li Ke.

In that split second, Li Ke dodged to the side and pulled Li Zhenzhen next to her to block Chen Yi's view.

Caught completely off guard, Li Zhenzhen was suddenly splashed with dirty water. The basin of water hit her face and body, and Li Zhenzhen froze, momentarily unable to react.

Li Ke stood in the shadows outside the door, covering her nose with her hand. She didn't know where Aunt Chen had gotten that basin of water from; it didn't smell very good.

With her hair soaked and half-covered in her face, before Li Zhenzhen could react, Grandma Chen raised her cane again and began to beat her from head to toe: "You little slut, how dare you provoke me! You ill-mannered thing! You've come into our Chen family, eating our food and wearing our clothes, and you still dare to talk back to me, the master of the Chen family! If I don't teach you a lesson today, I'll have lived all these years in vain!"

Grandma Chen hit and cursed at the same time. Despite her advanced age, she was sharp-tongued and quick-witted. In just a few words, she had already swung her cane and hit Li Zhenzhen more than a dozen times.

Li Zhenzhen cried out in pain and shouted angrily, "What are you doing? Chen Niansheng, grab your mother!"

After Chen Niansheng discovered that the person who had been splashed was Li Zhenzhen, he immediately went to stop the old lady. However, Grandma Chen was in the middle of a beating and couldn't stop her in time, so Li Zhenzhen was hit a few more times.

"Mom, stop hitting her! This is Zhenzhen, you've hit the wrong person." Chen Niansheng finally managed to control his mother, snatched the cane from her hand and threw it outside, then went to check on Li Zhenzhen.

Li Ke saw the cane thrown at his feet, and kicked it even further away.

Li Zhenzhen was covered in filth and was trembling with anger. Chen Niansheng had no idea where to clean her up. Her summer clothes were thin, and Li Zhenzhen's figure was exposed, making her look very disheveled. Her whole body was shaking uncontrollably due to anger and pain.

Seeing his beloved in such pain, Chen Niansheng couldn't care less about anything else. He could only step forward and hug Li Zhenzhen, saying with heartache, "Zhenzhen, my mother hit the wrong person. Don't be angry. I'll take you upstairs to clean up now."

Li Zhenzhen leaned against Chen Niansheng's chest, glanced at Li Ke standing in the shadows beside her, and then snuggled into Chen Niansheng's arms and went inside.

Li Ke didn't care at all about Li Zhenzhen's resentful gaze. After seeing Li Zhenzhen leave, she also stepped out of the shadows and walked into the house.

Grandma Chen, however, was somewhat unwilling to give up and went to look for her cane that had been thrown outside. But her eyesight was poor, and the cane had been thrown quite far away. She looked for a while but couldn't find it.

She wasn't worried at all after hitting Li Zhenzhen; in her heart, this woman was no good either. Li Ke was a little bitch, and Li Zhenzhen was an old bitch in her eyes.
